Drop of traffic after massive technical issue
-
Hello,
since August i am working on a customers website on WordPress who has a costume made theme, back in October after updating some plugins we had a massive breakdown and the website went up and down and had technical issues for over a month and traffic was completely gone for a while, since we have dropped to about 40% of the monthly traffic the website was getting prior, i was waiting to see if the website will recover since we were getting some traffic and are ranking but that did not happen,is there a way to tell if there are any code issues or anything that can cause that drop? moz crawler only indicates normal meta description errors but nothing in the code, changing the theme would probably be best solution as a popular premade theme would give a definite answer but that is not possible.

so search in google "site:mydomain.com search"?
i am using google search console for a while and today i fetched as Google and requested to be reindexed, i got 504 404 errors but most of them were fixed or supposed to be fixed for a while now.
no smartphone errors, only for desktop. i did just noticed i got 45 mobile usability errors. and no manual actions.
the mobile website is useable and looks decent but pretty bad to operate, most of our traffic is from mobile....
that might be the problem? -
See what Google thinks with the site:yourdomain.com search. This will give you all the data they have on your site. Look for errors, missing content and duplicate content. I think that would be a good start. Also use Google Search Console to check for index issues, crawl issues and any manual actions. If a site is offline for a while it will be delisted, a big site is delisted after a few minutes, in my experience the traffic returns after 1 or 2 weeks. To make it more complex there seems to have been a few changes to Google results over the past weeks, may be due to the 'mobile first' index.

Abnormally High Direct Traffic Volume
We have abnormally high amounts of direct traffic to our site. It's comprising over half of all web traffic while organic is second with considerably less. From there the volume decreases amongst other channels. I've never seen such a huge proportion of traffic being attributed the Direct. Does anyone know how to test this or see if there is an error in Google Analytics reporting?

Referral Traffic vs. Campaign Traffic in Google Analytics
I have two sites: a blog and an ecommerce site. The blog funnels people to the ecommerce site. In Analytics I'm seeing declines in referral traffic from the blog to the ecommerce site. During the same time I'm seeing an increase in campaign traffic to the ecommerce site, with most campaign traffic coming from the blog. I believe the increase in campaign traffic is largely a result of simply having installed more tracking links. This leads me to believe that the declines I'm seeing in referral traffic is simply a result of the increase in campaign traffic. In other words, what was once counted and reported as being referral traffic is now being counted and reported as campaign traffic. So my question is this: In Google Analytics is campaign traffic ALSO reported as referral traffic, or is campaign traffic reported separately and not duplicated in referral traffic reports? I'll provide a concrete example to make this more clear in case it isn't: Say site X sends 1000 visits each month to site Y. Say 50 of those visits come from a single link on X. If that link is changed so that campaign Z data info added (via the Google URL Builder), would you expect to then see 950 referral visits each month from site X to site Y plus 50 campaign visits to site Y via new campaign Z, or would you continue to see 1000 referral visits plus the new 50 campaign visits? Many thanks in advance to anyone that can shed some light on this.

Very specific visitor drop
Hello there, Last week I discovered an unnatural drop in the direct traffic channel while analyzing all traffic channels. I dived into the data and discovered the following aspects of the traffic drop: The drop is only caused by: Direct traffic coming from browser Safari on Apple tablets (Safari traffic includes 83% of all direct tablet traffic) Android, mobile and desktop traffic didn't drop at all The direct tablet traffic dropped on the 1st of October It has never dropped before and it has grown naturally every month since more than a year In week 42 we only made 35% of the revenue we made in week 39. We're talking about k's. I attatched two screenshots coming from Google Analytics: the drop of direct tablet traffic compared to direct mobile traffic, and the drop of direct Safari tablet traffic compared to direct Android tablet traffic. We asked our web developer (SEOShop) about possible changes they made around the 1st of October to i.e. our mobile website. They said that they didn't change anything but they pointed to Hummingbird that has been released around that date. I can't link the traffic issue with Hummingbird though.. Can anybody let their light shine about this one? I'm very thankful. Marcel 76gzsLx,fOlkm10#1

Google Analytics shows wrong traffic source
I was reviewing out traffic sources on GA for this past week's traffic history, and noticed a couple of visits & conversions that GA cited as coming from campaigns from emails that were sent out in 2012 and early 2013. it seems odd that we would have traffic & conversions from these older campaigns - on a regular basis. it's not even from one campaign, but from multiple campaigns. is it possible that it is a cookie issue? - i wonder if these visits were really from the email campaigns - or if they were from organic searches or other sources. Thoughts? Thanks!

Having issues with pivot tables in GA
For the past three days, I've been trying to use pivot tables on a couple of reports, most importantly I'm trying to use a pivot table on the All Pages report. I'd like to pull it for a year so I can see what our traffic sources are for top pages. I keep getting an error in Google Analytics that says, "Resource is Not Available. Please Try Again Later." See attached image. I've condensed my date range to a month, just in case a year's data was too much and I still get the error. I'm unable to use pivot tables in ANY report, without getting this message. Is anyone else having issues?EgZ25

We lost great amount of Google Traffic. Need Expert Advice, Please!
We are in the business of selling home and commercial light fixtures for about 10 years now. Our website is a very large ecommerce website with more than 40K pages including category, sub-category and product pages. We have been getting decent organic traffic mostly from highly competitive keywords and also from product/solution specific long tail keywords. Recently when Google changed the EMD algo we have seen a dip in the traffic (say about 60%). I can't be so sure that this is because of EMD update, but it started happening only after this update. There has been a rank drop from 1st page to 2nd page, decrease in no. of keywords driving traffic, decrease in no. of pages driving traffic, all these things have an negative impact on our organic revenue. I know that our back link portfolio is bad and the reason behind this is the SEO companies that we previously worked with, Thanks to them for this sloppy work. Other than back links, Is there anything fundamentally wrong on our website. Here is the URL http://bit.ly/QVFHgr
