Hi Mozfans
I'm doing a sitescan for a new client. http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/
It's a dutch jobsite.
Now the problem is here: The url http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/vacatures/ is in google.
On the same page there are jobs (scroll down) with a followed link.
To a url like this: http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/vacatures/722/productie+medewerker+paprika+teelt/The problem is that the second url don't show up in google. When i try to make a sitemap with Gsitecrawler the second url isn't in de sitemap.. :S
What am i doing wrong?
Thanks!

This is a basic configuration issue. I would advise you to contact your sitemap software vendor or whomever wrote the code. You need your sitemap software to view the "www' version of the site as those are the pages which display the links.

Thanks for your reply.Â
I'm just doing a scan, so this wil helpthe non-www and www issue i will let the client know.
I think it is a Ajax issue: Â http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/xmlhttp/vacatures/ this feed is installed with ajax

Your current sitemap can be seen here: http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/sitemap.xml
There are dates as recent as today in the sitemap. I did a search of the sitemap for "medewerker" which is part of the URL in the example you shared. There is a link with that term, but it is not the same link. There is clearly an issue with the configuration of your sitemap software.
A possible cause of the issue is your site is set up as both the "www" and non-www version. The pages on the two versions are not identical.
http://vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/vacatures/
If you look at this version of the URL you shared, the same page appears except it does not contain all the links at the bottom. Perhaps you configured your sitemap to view the non-www version of your site which does not show those extra links.

I found that the jobs are in some kind of xml feed:
http://www.vacatures.tuinbouw.nl/xmlhttp/vacatures/
How do i resolve this?

Webmaster tools not showing links but Moz OSE is showing links. Why can't I see them in the Google Search Console
Hi, Please see attached photos. Â I have a website that shows external follow links when performing a search on open site explorer. Â However, they are not recognised or visible in search console. Â This is the case for both internal and external links. The internal links are 'no follow' which I am getting developer to rectify. Any ideas why I cant see the 'follow' external links? Thanks in advance to those who help me out. Jesse T7dkL5s T7dkL5s OkQmPL4 3qILHqS

What's Moz's Strategy behind their blog main categories?
I've only just noticed that the Moz' blog categories have been moved within a pull down menu. See it underneath : 'Explore Posts by Category' on any blog page. This means that the whole list of categories under that pull-down is not crawlable by bots, and therefore no link-juice flows down onto those category pages. I imagine that the main drive behind that move is to sculpt page rank so that the business/money pages or areas of the website get greater link equity as opposed to just wasting it all throwing it down to the many categories ? Â it'd be good to hear about more from Rand or anyone in his team as to how they came onto engineering this and why. One of the things I wonder is: with the sheer amount of content that Moz produces, is it possible to contemplate an effective technical architecture such as that? I know they do a great job at interlinking content from one post onto another, so effectively one can argue that that kind of supersedes the need for hierarchical page rank distribution via categories... but I wonder : "is it working better this way vs having crawlable blog category links on the blog section? Â have they performed tests" Â some insights or further info on this from Moz would be very welcome. thanks in advance

Google Cache can't keep up with my 403s
Hi Mozzers, I hope everyone is well. I'm having a problem with my website and 403 errors shown in Google Webmaster Tools. The problem comes because we "unpublish" one of the thousands of listings on the site every few days - this then creates a link that gives a 403. At the same time we also run some code that takes away any links to these pages. So far so good. Unfortunately Google doesn't notice that we have removed these internal links and so tries to access these pages again. This results in a 403. These errors show up in Google Webmaster Tools and when I click on "Linked From" I can verify that that there are no links to the 403 page - it's just Google's Cache being slow. My question is a) How much is this hurting me? b) Can I fix it? All suggestions welcome and thanks for any answers!

Why Doesn't All Structured Data Show in Google Webmaster?
We have more than 80k products, each of them with data-vocabulary.org markup on them, but only 17k are being reported as having the markup in Google Webmaster (GW). If I run a page that GW isn't showing as having the structure data in the structured data testing tool (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets), it passes. Any thoughts on why this would be happening? Is it because we should switch from data-vocabulary.org to schema.org? Example of page that GW is reporting that has structured data: https://www.etundra.com/restaurant-equipment/refrigeration/display-cases/coutnertop/vollrath-40862-36-inch-cubed-glass-refrigerated-display-cabinet/ Example of page that isn't showing in GW as having structured data: https://www.etundra.com/kitchen-supplies/cutlery/sandwich-spreaders/mundial-w5688-4-and-half-4-and-half-sandwich-spreader/

Has Google stopped rendering author snippets on SERP pages if the author's G+ page is not actively updated?
Working with a site that has multiple authors and author microformat enabled. The image is rendering for some authors on SERP page and not for others. Difference seems to be having an updated G+ page and not having a constantly updating G+ page. any thoughts?

OpenSite Explorer doesn't show Twitter
When I type competitors sites into opensiteexplorer it shows their Twitter page as one of the tops links back. However, my site, our Twitter page isn't even on the links back. Does twitter even though no follow hold any value? Why can't opensite explorer see it? If OSE can't see it then do you think Google isn't?

Please help me critique my friends site
Hi All, I've regularly helped others on this forum when they've asked for tips on how to improve a specific site's SEO. Now I'm asking for the favour in return 🙂 My friend has come to me with a site (http://www.swishplastic.com.au) and asked me to help with SEO and on-page optimisation. I've got a few of my own ideas but there may be a few key things I'm overlooking. If anyone could give a few pointers, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Can JavaScrip affect Google's index/ranking?
We have changed our website template about a month ago and since then we experienced a huge drop in rankings, especially with our home page. We kept the same url structure on entire website, pretty much the same content and the same on-page seo. We kind of knew we will have a rank drop but not that huge. We used to rank with the homepage on the top of the second page, and now we lost about 20-25 positions. What we changed is that we made a new homepage structure, more user-friendly and with much more organized information, we also have a slider presenting our main services. 80% of our content on the homepage is included inside the slideshow and 3 tabs, but all these elements are JavaScript. The content is unique and is seo optimized but when I am disabling the JavaScript, it becomes completely unavailable. Could this be the reason for the huge rank drop? I used the Webmaster Tolls' Fetch as Googlebot tool and it looks like Google reads perfectly what's inside the JavaScrip slideshow so I did not worried until now when I found this on SEOMoz: "Try to avoid ... using javascript ... since the search engines will ... not indexed them ... " One more weird thing is that although we have no duplicate content and the entire website has been cached, for a few pages (including the homepage), the picture snipet is from the old website. All main urls are the same, we removed some old ones that we don't need anymore, so we kept all the inbound links. The 301 redirects are properly set. But still, we have a huge rank drop. Also, (not sure if this important or not), the robots.txt file is disallowing some folders like: images, modules, templates... (Joomla components). We still have some html errors and warnings but way less than we had with the old website. Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!
