We have a keyword which is important to us and used to have rock steady rankings for over a decade. Over the past 9 months or so it has been fluctuating all over the place. Jumping up or down 20 places or so overnight.

Any thoughts on this behaviour and what we should be doing to stabilise the ranking?Screenshot 2024-05-13 at 09.47.jpg

Fluctuating keyword rankings can happen due to several factors. We've all been there at some point. As mentioned here, the recent Google algorithm update might have affected your keyword's ranking. Does your website have fresh, high-quality content? Regularly update your pages and add new relevant content. Check and improve your site's technical SEO, including page speed and mobile-friendliness. Build quality backlinks from reputable sites. Analyze your competitors to see what they're doing differently. Monitor these factors and implement the changes where needed; that should help stabilize your rankings.

I think i quickly answered this, but to provide a more detailed answer, after the Google Helpful Content update, businesses really seen massive changes in where they ranked on Google.

So, we had updates, in the past, Google Penguin, etc, targeting link spam. This update was different,

The Google helpful content update looked at how useful, how much does the written work, meet the standards set out in Google E-EAT.

So, our best advice would be, contact an SEO company, for some advice, which pages/ blog posts are weak, need improving, make gradual improvements, improve the whole websites content marketing, over time rankings should improved.

However, word of advice, do consult with an expert SEO consultant on this, as if the improvements are not done right, rankings can drop further. so hire the best SEO company, and get good advice, as rankings can drop, as well as move up.

It could be because of a Google algorithm update, so our advice would be wait for “ranking flux” to settle, then see what changes need to be made.

Wild fluctuations in search engine rankings can be a perplexing challenge for website owners and SEO practitioners. These fluctuations can stem from a variety of factors, including algorithmic updates, changes in competitor strategies, technical issues, and content quality. To address this issue, it's crucial to monitor your website's performance regularly and stay informed about industry trends and search engine algorithm changes. Implementing strong SEO practices, such as optimizing content with relevant keywords, improving website speed and user experience, and building a strong backlink profile, can help stabilize rankings over time. Additionally, leveraging tools like InShot Video Editor to create high-quality and engaging video content can enhance user engagement and contribute positively to SEO efforts. By focusing on a comprehensive SEO strategy and adapting to evolving trends, website owners can mitigate the impact of ranking fluctuations and maintain a strong online presence.

                  Domain keyword ranking

                  keyword rankings domain

I used to use Searchmetrics (years ago) which enabled me to add in the domain name into their website, and it would provide all the keywords that rank for it. Does Moz do that do you know? Thanks

My posts have vanished from Serps What Should I do

                  ranking issue serps

I was using the Yoast plugin and for more than ten years and my keywords were always in the top twenty with many in the top five. I then moved over to rank math plugin and things were fine. Then i saw all my posts and pages go our of serps with not a single page in seps. I looked at the plugin and saw that it was still working fine but my subscription ran out two months previous. none of my brand news articles appear in serps. All my posts are indexed but not one of them in serps and not one of my keywords are ranked. Can anyone please let me know what to do to solve this

rankings reports keyword rankings google mobile

Hi, I'm trying to create an SEO report for my client however their mobile rankings have completely disappeared for Google Mobile rankings. Competitors rankings have disappeared as well. Could this be a Moz configuration issue?

Page Speed or Site Speed which one does Google considered a ranking signal

I've read many threads online which proves that website speed is a ranking factor. There's a friend whose website scores 44 (slow metric score) on Google Pagespeed Insights. Despite that his website is slow, he outranks me on Google search results. It confuses me that I optimized my website for speed, but my competitor's slow site outperforms me. On Six9ja.com, I did amazing work by getting my target score which is 100 (fast metric score) on Google Pagespeed Insights. Coming to my Google search console tool, they have shown that some of my pages have average scores, while some have slow scores. Google search console tool proves me wrong that none of my pages are fast. Then where did the fast metrics went? Could it be because I added three Adsense Javascript code to all my blog posts? If so, that means that Adsense code is slowing website speed performance despite having an async tag. I tested my blog post speed and I understand that my page speed reduced by 48 due to the 3 Adsense javascript codes added to it. I got 62 (Average metric score). Now, my site speed is=100, then my page speed=62 Does this mean that Google considers page speed rather than site speed as a ranking factor? Angular website and ranking

Hi guys Unfortunately I have to optimize the angular website, but I don't know how google see my website. Seo quacke (seo extension) doesn't get data from this website: https://cafegardesh.com and sitemap generation tools just crawl 1 page of this website. why? How find that google really crawl and index angular website?

How can I track my rankings on Google Images?

I noticed a small amount of traffic coming from a particular very generic keyword. Being pleasantly surprised that we are ranking for this, and after some digging, I found that we are actually ranking in Google images, rather than in the web results. How can I track whether other keywords are ranking in Google images? I use Rank Checker to track keywords in the main web results, but this doesn't have a function for Google Images. Help please - thanks.

                  Lost rankings after disavowing links

About two months ago, I received an unnatural inbound links message from Google. Then I disavowed 58 (the worst ones) and now I can see that right after the date I submitted my disavow file I'm losing rankings. What would you suggest? I don't really want to revoke my disavow file because it has totally bad links. I  have  this idea to build 58 links from high quality sites (instead of the 58 I disavowed). Do you think it'll work faster (if at all) or I just need to remove my disavow file?
