Too Many On-Page Links for my Blog
-
Hi,
I have created a SEO Moz campaign for my travel blog www.EspaceVoyage.net. The Crawl diagnostics tool raised a warning saying that for few pages I have a 'Too many on-page links'. All the problematic pages are of the following style:
http://www.espacevoyage.net/2008/08/01/
http://www.espacevoyage.net/2008/08/02/
http://www.espacevoyage.net/2008/08/06/
....
I am not sure what I should do with that ... Since I continue to publish articles on that blog I imagine that that problem will keep growing and growing ... What should I do with that?
Thanks
P.S. That blog uses Wordpress CMS.
Nancy

For your Archives section, you could consider changing the 2008, 2009 & 2010 archives to a single link for each year rather then a month-by-month breakout. This change will bring you to under 100 links on the page while still making your archives available to users.
Prior to making this change I would suggest you perform some analytics to see how often these links are used. I suspect they are rarely used in which case this change would be recommend. The result would be an end to the warning and better PR flow throughout your site to your more popular pages.

Keep it to 100, some say 150 for a home page, if its a growing infinate problem, i would address it.
I dont use WP, but surly it gives you some sort of post per page limit?

Hi Nancy!
One reason Google is saying that is because you have a large amount of links compared to the amount of regular text. That will make them suspicious.
You have ~100 links on the three subpages you´ve listed which is no problem, but, when it is compared to the amount of plain text this might happen.
See Matt Cutts blog post about this: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/how-many-links-per-page/

I would not worry too much if the posts have 400+ words.
Also, I see that the links are all category and archive links. These should be ok as long as you are using a plugin like the "All in One SEO Pack" in Wordpress and set NOINDEX on categories, archives and tags.
Also, you can set the categories to be displayed as a dropdown which would make the links invisible to the crawler (if I am not mistaken). A drop down category list may not look good but if the links are seen as links then it should help.

Hi all, Usually we link homepage from all pages. That's definitely a boost for homepage to rank well. Do we need to interlink homepage to the highest? Including links from subdomains or sub directories. Thanks

Migrating login page from website: SEO impact
Our current login page looks like www.website.com/log-in/. We are planning to migrate it to a sub directory login.website.com. For years, our login page is the top landing with highest visits after homepage. If we migrate this now, are we going to loose traffic and drop in rankings? Thanks

Google result showing old Meta Title / Description even though page view source shows new info.
Hey guys! I'm struggling with why Google is ignoring my Meta Title / Description. I made a pretty drastic change to both about a week ago and on the results it hasn't changed. I'm on first page with several keywords and I think this weird caching is hurting me on where I'm at on the page. Thoughts / Ideas?

How to put 'Link to this article' HTML code at bottom of article & is it helpful?
Hello, I was thinking about putting a box down at the bottom of my client's main articles that let's the reader easily copy the html code it takes to link to the article they're reading. Maybe I'd put it after the author bio. Do any of you do this? If so, what format do you use? It has to look nice of course. This is a non-techie industry. Thanks.

Keywords in the page url for best SEO
Hello all, I am working in the keywors structure of a web and I have the following doubt: If I want to target these keywords: great food madrid and my website is: http://www.madridlive.com I do not know if I should keep either: OPTION 1: page url: www.madridlive.com/great-food-madrid or OPTION 2: page url www.madridlive.com/great-food I do not know if the search engines "understands" madrid in "madridlive", therefore I can avoid the "madrid" keyword, dicarding option 1 and going for option 2. Additionally I avoid duplication of the madrid keyword that can be seen as redundancy and also have a shorter page url. Thank you very much and sorry for such a question but I am new in this SEO field...just the excellent SEOMOZ's SEO Guide for beginners! Best regards, Antonio

How important are tags on blogs?
Hi, I've always used tags on blogs, but I've noticed that some prominent and reputable blogs (e.g., SEOmoz blog, Problogger, Copyblogger) are no longer using tags at the end of each post. I'm curious about what is the reason for this - any ideas? Thanks in advance, Carolina

Do Pages That Rearrange Set Off Any Red Flags for Google?
We have a broad content site that includes crowdsourced lists of items. A lot of the pages allow voting, which causes the content on the pages (sometimes the content is up to 10 pages deep) to completely rearrange, and therefore spread out and switch pages often among the (up to 10) pages of content. Now, could this be causing any kind of duplicate content or any other kind of red flags for Google? I know that the more the page changes the better, but if it's all the same content that is being moved up and down constantly, could Google think we're pulling some kind of "making it look like we have new content" scheme and ding us for these pages? If so, what would anyone recommend we do? Let's take an example of a list of companies with bad customer service. We let the internet vote them up and down all the time, the order changes depending on the votes in real time. Is that page doomed, or does Google see it and love it?
