Ok I forgot to add something to this as well. Why would the URLS show up on the smartphone report if they are not on the desktop report? Afterall a 404 from either device is still a 404?
Thanks

Hi Everyone,
I have a very specific SEO question. I am doing a site audit and one of the crawl reports is showing tons of 404's for the "smartphone" bot and with very recent crawl dates. If our website is responsive, and we do not have a mobile version of the website I do not understand why the desktop report version has tons of 404's and yet the smartphone does not. I think I am not understanding something conceptually.
I think it has something to do with this little message in the Mobile crawl report.
"Errors that occurred only when your site was crawled by Googlebot (errors didn't appear for desktop)."
If I understand correctly, the "smartphone" report will only show URL's that are not on the desktop report. Is this correct?
Hi Ray,
Sorry to bug you again. I installed the conversion code on the one unique thank you page and the campaign is not picking it up. I used the Google Tag manager to verify it and it is set ok. Not perfect but ok.
Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong? I followed the steps found here perfectly..https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1722054?hl=en
Thanks
Carla
Thanks Ray for getting back to me so quickly. Yes all ads are under one account.
I get what you are saying now. Google Adwords automatically associates Keyword used ==> landing page ==> conversion page.
Please let me know if this is correct. I just installed the tracking code on the single thank you page.
Thanks Again
Hi Ray,
Thanks for letting me know about 1 unique thank you page. Do you recommend I install all 25 conversion tracking codes on the 1 thank you page to measure PPC conversions and for SEO conversiones, do you recommed I use funnels? I am currently using funnels via Google Analytics for SEO conversion measurement
Thanks!
Hi everyone,
I am running a PPC (Google Adwords Campaign) and it is pretty big. I have about 25 landing pages each with a Contact Form. I need the contact form to go to a unique thank you page for each landing page to measure conversions via Google Adwords. In other words I need the contact form on submission to redirect to a specific and unique thank you page that I can define. The contact form needs to be the same for all landing pages to avoid having to produce 25 landing pages. I am ok with producing 25
Example
http://www.maindomain.com/landing-page-1 redirects tohttp://www.maindomain.com/thank-you-1
http://www.maindomain.com/landing-page-2 redirects tohttp://www.maindomain.com/thank-you-2
http://www.maindomain.com/landing-page-3 redirects tohttp://www.maindomain.com/thank-you-3
Can someone help me with this?
Thanks
Thanks Lynn,
I see what my issue is. I need to rename some with more generic keywords...
Hi Moz community,
I am working on a SEO project (ecommerce) and most of the images on the website are .png and I notice they do not rank but yet the .jpg do. Do you recommend I change all the .png to .jpg? They all have alt text and keyword filenames (no spam
Here is the website www.moldear.com.ar. Notice the swimming pool coping tiles are .png and the swimming pool images are .jpg. I cannot get the coping images to rank for some reason
Thanks
Carla
Hi Miriam,
I really appreciate all the references and info. This is the kind of stuff that makes debates end quickly
As for EMD, we are actually thinking about rebranding since when we started our company EMD had all the benefits.
Thanks for all the tips

Hi Miriam,
I have a client who has a local business and really wants me to create multiple websites to go after different keywords. I have advised him not to do this but he keeps insisting. Can you recommend any great articles from a well know source talking about this? Does Matt Cutts have anything on this issue?
Thanks
Carla
I agree with Alice I would not block them. If the content is unique, they can't hurt you. Category sections show up an SERP's all the time and will increase your CTR (click thru rate)
Hi Erwin,
I have been wondering about this myself. I am a believer that no-follows contribute but as co-citation, however I have no proof. Testing this theory would be fun.
Hi John,
Does the report say who created the content first. I had a very interesting experience with copied content. You can ready about it here. http://moz.com/community/q/copied-content-copied-website
The post is useful

I want to buy a domain that has clean backlinks and then redirect it to my new domain to bump up my PR. Is this considered a black hat technique?
Thanks
Carla
Hi Steve,
Egol is completely right. This approach is very expensive to maintain and Google frowns upon duplicate content.
This approach is very passe
10/9/2014 Despite the popularity and importance of SEO, the field has yet to gain significant traction at the university level other than a few courses here and there offered as part of a broader digital marketing degree. The tide could be turning, however slowly.
4/1/2014 I have observed that there are many articles that say parallax scrolling is not ideal for search engines. Parallax Scrolling is a design technique and it is ideal for search engines if you know how to apply it. I have collected a list of great tutorials and real SEO-friendly parallax websites to help the community learn how to use both techniques together.
8/1/2013 Web Design Agencies are great at making beautiful websites, but can they do SEO too? We analyzed award-winning website designs throughout the world to see how SEO friendly they were. We also compared these websites to leading SEO Agency websites to see how they were design wise. We noticed that most SEO agencies have great rankings, but poor designs and we noticed that web design agencies have beautiful websites but poor SEO.
