Hi The former owner of One of our competitors ( www.gastrocatering.com ) gave my some insight into  how he got his site up in the rankings. He said he got his site listed on 100s of directories had bloggers Wright about him. Gastro catering ranks highly for almost every key word we want I used the moz tools to see where his links came from, Should I copy what he did? I read a lot of posts that lead me to the conclusion I shouldn't, but he ranks #1 for so many desirable keywords. What are your thoughts on this please? All the best Ben

Hi guys there's a campaign (which I am very passionate about) to save our village pub from being developed. Now I have bought a domain name www dot SaveTheRoyalOak dot com I've forwarded this domain to sussexchef.com/save-the-royal-oak I'm using forward masking so the url remains save the royal oak, I will contain the few pages to do with the pub so that the navigation bars are hidden so the site will pretty much look be it's own entity to the user. this micro site will get hundreds of users and people linking to it, My question is will this hurt my site at all? I'm guessing that when I ask people to link to it I should get them to "no follow" it to be on the safe side? Thanks for your help All the best Ben

Hi All I am trying to rank my site for many key phrases but the pretty much always contain the word "Sussex" The biggy with a lot of competition is "Caterers Sussex" and similar variations when I view source on their page I find that Gastro catering's code uses "sussex" 92 times in it code. My site www.SussexChef.com uses the word "Sussex" 590 times, the competitors site mentions the word less in its code and is dominant for all my desirable key words. Am I spamming my keyword by using Sussex too often when naming my image file? Is there anything in this or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks for your help Ben

Hi I'm getting some really odd 202 errors, I can't think that someone would link to me like this  " http://sussexchef.com/contact-us/http.sussexchef.com/contact-us/ " There are 95 of them to deal with, I've checked my site and I can click though all the links on my site with out coming across 1 404. Hi guys and girls After reading all the content It became apparent that our website is a bit of a dog. I'm about to update our site with a new theme and content on moz.com I've found myself becoming so much more confident at all this. I've read all the material I can on Moz re: Site migration but still have one question. How do I find out all the links that I need to 301 before I make the new site live? Please don't worry about patronizing me! I'm really new at this! Ben

hi, quick question, I've made a new instillation of wordpress at sussexchef.com/dev and I'm about to start building pages, obvoisly I'm going to move it to sussexchef.com when its all looking right. when I choose my page address links/ permalinks thingy, should I use new url names that don't already exist on the old site? or should I keep the old url names so I don't get loads of 404's, but include the "dev/" in the url name? Eg the old address sussexchef.com/home should I use sussexchef.com/dev/home or sussexchef.com/home-sussex-caterers while building the development site? I'm guessing the later my help out in google searches too? But if I use Dev in the url shurly I will have to go through almost 100 pages removing the dev/ and also changing all the links too? This would be days of work!

Hi I'm on the free trial, I'm finding it really useful. since I was 16 (16years ago) all I've done is cook. After 3 weeks of Moz I feel like I'm or the way to marketing my business instead of having others tell me how to do it. A while back I used to use SEO freelancers to buff my site, but recently I realized that I was not doing enough to promote my business myself, I was trying to pay others to do it for me. I goggled Soe and marketing, of course I found Moz while doing so! The content is exceptional and really goes in depth and we are now coming up with a new content strategy! The problem is that I have this gut feeling that The moz product is worth the money it asks for as I can easily identify the issues or opportunities my site has, I still feel that I lack the competence to use moz  to its full potential! Is there an option to have someone skpe me and give me some tips or in sites with in my own campaign? I've spent a lot of time reading the blog content and watching the videos but this all seams to focus on how to get results but not so much on how to use the Moz console/dashboard. I've probably just missed a hole bunch of content but if not do Moz have and option to help set up your Moz analytic and Research so you can get the most relevant info to you? Hi, I'm on the free trial and finding it very useful I've fixed all my 301's. but now I have a load of 608's. I don't no what this is! I feel like I've cured herpes only to get gonorrhea! can any one help. I have 41 608's which is more than the 301's I had. I hope they are non-related! Hi New to Moz, I'm finding it all very helpful and daunting at the same time. I've read heaps of Seo the Moz content and watched every Video I can find. It's all going well and I've managed to get A's on some of my pages, I was hoping some one cold tell me why this site (Link to screan grab http://tinypic.com/r/dnj9di/8 ) is way above me in the Google search results? It appears to be under performing me in Moz but in actual fact it is greatly out performing me in Google. Any insights are more than gratefully received! Thanks Ben

Hi, I signed up after seeing the videos on Udemy and YouTube (white board Friday) So I've started the free trial and am looking forward to getting my site ranking higher. I've crawled my site www.sussexchef.com and its come back with the following errors (please see below. 608 I'm sure this information is very important but I have no idea how to fix the 608, I found a robots.txt in my directory and deleted it as I think that maybe the problem? I crawled the site twice by accident so will have to wait till tomorrow to find out? 404 I found it quite hard to find the broken links at first but once I realized all the information I needed was in the table I think I got them all. did I miss a tutorial or am I just a little out of my depth here? 503 I have no idea how to fix these, I can click the links and it takes my to that page or file. so how can it be the server down? Or is this because they are links to PDF's? should i convert them to jpegs and give them meta data? I'd be grateful for any help anyone has to offer as I'm keen to learn how to promote my site better.
