My little 2 cents: I posted a link to your blog post about the Ryan video on my Facebook page and our company's FB page.

The pictures/avatars/thumbnails available for the link didn't match the video. There were about 20 available: one said ProPhoto Theme, some were blank.

Since your site is probably going viral adding a custom pic might be worthwhile on pages like that. Picture worth a thousand words and all. hth

What do you think about using a .mobi site with the auto-redirect as a temporary solution until we can optimize the .com for mobile users? It may be several months before we can roll that out. I really want to keep the mobile users coming to our site.

Our website now has enough mobile traffic to justify going mobile friendly, which it is not at this time.

I am in favor of making a separate .mobi site designed specifically for mobile phones and smart phones for several reasons. It is cheaper, faster, and easier to accomplish. I think our mobile users will have a good experience though obviously not as much info as our full site.

I would use ourdomain.mobi with link or a redirect for mobile users from from the main site.

My top three choices for implementing that are

• http://allwebcodesign.com/setup/mobi-templates.htm#detailsarea
  Template that can be viewed by mobile or desktop.
• http://www.onbile.com/
• http://www.networksolutions.com/mobile-website/index.jsp

Does this seem like a good solution?

UX: if the image is missing for some reason, the Alt Text will be formatted as H1 and have to fit inside the image area. Not a pretty picture at all.

We are a small business that tried both and use neither because the code was javascript and slowing down our page loading speed.

The solution for us (and taking a look at how SEOmoz did it) was to use icon images with hyperlinks to our FB page and Twitter--pure and simple.

We use Facebook and Twitter. SEOmoz has those plus Feedburner and LinkedIn.

I am guessing that people who regularly Digg, Technorati, and so on, probably have an app pinned to their browser for quickly sharing.

Except for the speed issue, I liked Addthis better because more websites I look up to used it.

What about getting both domain names anyway? I always thought it is good practice to buy the related domain names so the competition can't get them? You would redirect/point the longer name and the hyphenated names to the shorter one. I'm not sure of any seo benefits except the competition doesn't benefit from your name.

I use the pipe because SEOmoz uses it. Visually it indicates something different is following. I think it more professional looking than the mere dash.
