Several issues moz analytics
-
I have found several issues with Moz Analytics. Wondering if it is only me or am I missing something...
1. I am not able to create branded reports or reports what so ever. I need this functionality like it is advertised.
2. In Search competition is not working at all. it states "not in top 50" for all keywords witch is not true.
3. In Crawl diagnostics I get this "Rel Canonical" issue even though the rel canonical tag is in the website.I have send a mail to support but no answer until today. Earlier I did receive a answer on my questions so i guess there is one way of sending questions to the moz team witch is not working.

Thank you Jon, Appreciate it.
Auke.

Hi Auke,
I understand - we have added a credit to your account to make up for it - you will see this on your next statement. Thanks for your patience, we will be ready soon!
Thanks,
Jon

Thanks Jon,
I have send an email to the guys. Hope it gets solved soon.
I am somewhat disappointed about the Branded Reports. I see now that in the pricing plans it states "Coming Soon" but when I signed up this was one of the items i Thought I would get for my $249,-

Hi Auke,
-
I just had a look at your campaign, as it was created in Moz Analytics (not PRO) you do not have the option of navigating back to PRO. My apologies, I should have checked this before I gave you that suggestion. Custom Reports are being worked on right now by our engineering team. They are one of our highest priority items. I am unable to give you a date but I can assure you they are one of the in-progress things we are focusing on. You can see this priority list that Rand (sneakily) published last week as a guide to what we are working on https://plus.google.com/111294201325870406922/posts
-
I can confirm that I see ranking that are not appearing in the report, unless you have added the competitor I checked since the last crawl date, which seems unlikely considering the date of your post. This looks like a genuine bug - would you mind contacting help@moz.com? I will give them a heads up. They are really good at diagnosing this stuff and have good visibility into trending bugs and issues

Great!
Thanks again Auke, sorry again for your inconvenience.

Thanks Claudio and Jon for your answers,
-
John could you tell me where exactly i could find this "back to PRO" link. Heaving a hard time finding this link.
-
the issue is actually with all my campaigns. I do not get the competition rankings and it states "not in top 50".
This is one of my campaigns witch I know the competition is ranking for several keywords (even a keyword of witch is in the domain of the competition: http://analytics.moz.com/search/keyword-rankings/239413.121281
- I understand that the notice issue is actually not an issue. Thanks for clarify this for me.
Thanks for the Help Jon!

Hi Auke,
Happy to help!
-
Branded Reports are coming soon in Moz Analytics, in the meantime you can create reports in PRO. This is a workaround while we put the finishing touches on the Custom Reports feature in Moz Analytics. Campaign data will be identical between MA and PRO, you can switch back to PRO by using the 'Back to PRO' link in the Moz Analytics UI. Let me know if I can help you out more here?
-
Do you have the URL to the campaign you are having issues with? If so I can help you out with diagnosing the issue
-
Claudio's answer is spot on - it is not an 'issue' - it is a 'notice' that we found a rel=canonical on the page - so it's all good and you don't need to do anything with the information! You are definitely no the first person to be confused by this, we are working on a better way to communicate it in the UI or app.
Hope these help - let me know the URL and I can do a deeper dive on the keyword rankings problem.
Thanks!
Jon

Hi there Auke Jongbloed
Looks like you are a little bit disappointed, it would be a pity not to make use and take real advantage of this tool... I´ll do my best to guide you, as far as I can, on this extremely powerful tool you have started to learn to use.
1) Reports, I would advise you to use the new dashboard http://analytics.moz.com/dashboard/overview it’s awesome and depending on the settings (http://analytics.moz.com/settings/campaign) you make, you will be mailed weekly to your email. Anyway, you can view the reports for the accounts you created once moz has collected all the necessary info, here: http://analytics.moz.com/search/on-page-grade-report they are really quick, but we must have some patience (i know its a seldom rare characteristic for us humans but, let’s try our best) as they need some time, you know google, and all those search engines folks are not so keen to give us precious info...
i) Here, you will be able to manage initial settings of your campaigns, will take approx. one week to collect all the info and generate report http://analytics.moz.com/manage-campaigns
ii)and here you have help resources and documentation for reports: http://moz.com/help/pro/on-page-reports
-
Probably didn´t collect the necessary info, but wouldn´t guess, sorry if I’m wrong...:(
-
Pls have a look at the message attached about this issue, actually its not an issue but a notice. If you correctly used canonicals on a single page it would be advised here: http://analytics.moz.com/search/on-page-grade and here http://analytics.moz.com/search/analyze-page on this last one you will find a list of issues and notices, if you did correctly your homework for canonicals, then you will find a notice about having it done.
Hope giving you some help on this great tool for improving your skills and knowledge for SEO!
Cheers from this sunny southern Spain

My client's site is down and the web host gives says that Moz is the reason why. "The fact that your site was limited is because the traffic generated by Moz. This is why I have suggested to block their IP addresses." Now we have unblocked the IP addresses and as you can see your site was limited again. Moz pricing plans don't make sense
Hey. I posted a question about this on my other Moz account (one I use for moz local), but it appears to have been removed, so here goes again. Can someone from Moz please explain to me why that in your plans, as the price goes up and more campaigns are allowed, the amount of keywords tracked per campaign goes down? $149 plan - 5 campaigns - 450 keywords = 90 keywords per campaign. $249 plan - 25 campaigns - 1100 keywords = 44 keywords per campaign $599 plan - 100 campaigns - 3700 keywords = 37 keywords per campaign What confuses me here with your pricing plans is two fold Modern SEO requires a lot of quality content, interlinked together to rank well (in most cases). Your SEO guides even talk about this. Blogging is one of the most popular ways to do this. However, in any modest website these days, especially one that runs a blog, how does tracking only 37 keywords per campaign make sense? The fact is, that even your starter plan with only 90 per campaign doesn't make sense. My business website is tracking about 300 (that actually drive traffic). I provide my SEO clients with the same type of work I would do for my self, which again reinforces that 37 keywords is plainly pathetic. Every online pricing model I've ever seen follows one simple rule: When price goes up, you get more for your money, not less. At first glance you might think that is what you're getting when you step up a plan and get more campaigns, but then to have less keywords per campaign simply doesn't make sense at all. What does make sense is to have a more flexible pricing model. Instead of locking us into set tiers which don't really make sense, you should allow a more flexible pricing BEFORE we have to go up to enterprise. Why not have a per project price of 'x' price per month, then have a price per keyword or maybe per 100 keywords. This would allow all of us the flexibility to run campaign depths that make sense for us, not for your counterintuitive views of how we should be tracking them. Again, I'd really like a Moz staff person to respond to this as the last time I commented about this, it was removed.

Custom Anchor text link on Moz profile section
Hi, Does anyone know if you can modify your anchor text and URL after you reach 200 Moz points on your profile section (On the web section under image)? I am close to getting my 200 pts (btw...enjoyed the entire journey) and am trying to choose my anchor text. Here is some interesting analysis too. I have a Spanish site since we are an Argentinean firm. 1. Would a spanish word as anchor text have any value since Moz.com is an English site? I am think about semantics here and how Google likes only content relevant links. My thought is that it does today but it may not be true in the future if Google is going to do away with linkbuilding and just do semantics and co-citation. Thanks Carla
