Disavowing the "right" bad backlinks
-
Hello,
From july to november (this year), I gained 110.000 backlinks. Considering that I'm having trouble ranking well for any keyword in my niche (a niche that I was ranking #1 for several keywords and now I'm losing), I'm starting to believe that negative seo is affecting me.
I already read several articles about negative seo, some telling this is a myth, others telling that negative SEO is alive and kicking...
My site is about health and fitness in brazilian-portuguese language, and there's polish/chinese/english with warez/viagra/others drugs pointing to my domain and a massive links in comments with blogs without comment approval.
Considering that all these new backlinks are not on my language and are clearly irrelevant, can I disavow them without fear of affecting my SEO even more ?
Everytime you see someone talking about the disavow tool, is always the same warning: "cautiong when disavowing a link, you can hurt you site even more, removing a link that - in some way - was helping you".
Any help or guidelines if I can remove this links safely would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and sorry for my english (it's not my native language)

The only danger is if you disavow the wrong links. As long as you are careful not to include legitimate links in with the bad ones in the disavow file you should be fine.
Best practices involve doing a link audit and sorting things out, then contacting webmasters about taking down the links, then running the disavow. Given the apparent clarity that this was an external negative SEO campaign I would consider skipping the second step and including a comment regarding your theory on the origination of the links in the disavow file... but I've never tried that. I've only been in situations where the disavow was based on misguided previous seo efforts, so we went through the removal step.
Hopefully someone else can jump in on that.

Backlinks
Hi, Does anyone have any experience with acquiring backlinks and their impact on DA and ranks? I am not asking about how to get backlinks, but how soon in your experience you noticed any positive results? Please, can you be specific? I.e. "once I acquired 8 backlinks from websites with DA 70+, my DA changed from x to x and my average rank improved in 4 positions overall/per page". Or any other tangible results. Many thanks. Katarina

CSS background image links bad for seo?
On one of the websites I manage SEO for, the developers are changing how our graphical links are coded. They're basically coding in such away where there is no anchor text and no alt tag, so for example: So there's no anchor nor alt context for Google's crawler. How badly will this affect SEO, or is it extremely minimal and I shouldn't worry about? Thanks in advance.

Webmaster Tools Manual Actions - Should I Disavow Spammy Links??
My website has a manual action against it in webmaster tools stating; Unnatural links to your site—impacts links Google has detected a pattern of unnatural artificial, deceptive, or manipulative links pointing to pages on this site. Some links may be outside of the webmaster’s control, so for this incident we are taking targeted action on the unnatural links instead of on the site’s ranking as a whole I have checked the link profile of my site and there are over 4,000 spammy links from one particular website which I am guessing this manual action refers to. There is no way that I will be able to get these links removed so should I be using Google's Disavow Tool or is there no need? Any ideas would be appreciated!!

Are sitewide links bad for SEO?
I have 11 real estate sites and have had links from one to another for about 7 years but someone just suggested me to take them all out because I might get penalized or affected by penguin. My main site was affected on July of 2012 and organic visits have dropped 43%...I've been working on many aspects of my SEO but it's been difficult to come back. Any suggestions are very welcome, thanks 🙂

Removing thousands of shady backlinks?
Hey guys, We've been hired to redesign a website that has thousands of backlinks created by a (possibly) shady offshore company, and I'm wondering if anyone out there has experience dealing with a deletion of this size and type. Is it as simple as just disavowing the whole lot? Thanks, Jason

Jigoshop "add to cart" producing 302 redirects
Hi, My site is throwing thousands of 302 redirect warnings on crawl for the add to cart process in my Wordpress/Jigshop online store. A sample url the crawl references is: | | https://morrowsnuts.com/product/the-best-of-the-best-8-oz/?add-to-cart=6117&_n=9773652185 | | I have read several other threads here that are similar in nature but haven't discovered a way to eliminate this. I am a store owner and with only partial technology skills and I don't know what to try next. I posted the problem with Jigoshop but I am not sure if they will provide a solution since this was the first time they heard of this. The site is Morrow's Nut House located at: https://morrowsnuts.com Thanks in advance for any direction or suggestions for me on next steps, John
