Redirecting broken backlink to my site
-
Hello guys,
I found an expired domain with inbound links from 41 different root domains, almost all of them from relevant sources. I have 2 ideas in my mind:
A) I am thinking about buying this expired domain and place a 301 redirect to a post in my blog who talks about a similar subject.Relevance: let's say the content of the expired domain is about "horses wallpapers" and the content of my site is about "horse transport". Not the same, but a post in my blog could talk about "top 10 horse wallpapers". Do you see what I mean?
B) Contact all the webmasters with broken links, alert them and expect they are nice and place a nice link to the post in my blog talking about "top 10 horse wallpapers".
What do you think? Should I take A or B? Any other idea?
I added a picture with the Domain Rank of the broken links
Thanks a lot !!!

I analyzed the domain health and it seems ok!!
Guys, I finally decided to create a small site (free hosting, a couple of texts from wayback machine,...) for this domain in order to start increasing the DA again, and I will place a couple of nice links to my money site once this is set up. Will all those links, in a couple of weeks I expect some results
I will update you about my experience!

One thing more I would add, there may be a reason this domain has expired, it may be that it has a penalty, you maybe inheriting someone else bad reputation.
I would not bother. -
We tested cache dates a few different times with these type of tools. We can force a recrawl of other people's links much faster by pinging them. Also, there are some links Google just hasn't revisited in years - especially blog posts & blog links. We want to avoid them missing our best links so we ping them.
Some webmasters will get back to you on changing links. It does work - maybe 10-15% return here. So if you had 40 to contact, that's potentially 4-6 of the site's best links.
A shouldn't work but it does. Otherwise nobody's PBNs would work and they are among the strongest links you can get.

I cant see B working, I don't think you will have any success contacting webmasters to do as you asked.
but A, may not work either. I don't know what google does with expired domains, but if you think as a search engine, would you want to awrd link juice from an epired domain to someone that buys it for those links. If I owned google I would tell me programmers to find a way to stop this happening.
sorry Matt I don't understand why you would want to ping the links, the links will be followed by the search engine in time, what would pinging tem do?
-
Well, B is definitely the better idea. Both would most likely help your rankings (depending on existing link profile, etc.) but B is cleaner, though harder. I would prefer to go down that path if you have the resources.
Also, if you buy the domain, those backlinks are disconnected until you reconnect them. So don't forget to ping the good backlinks if you do decide to go down the A path. Download all the links you can find, ping them in a tool like pingfarm and they seem to "reconnect" and repower the domain. Google just has to crawl those old pages, see the link still exists and you're good to go.
(Again, B is a preferred choice...but in the interest of information, A would probably work.)

Backlinks with high DA but PA1
Whenever we get new backlinks, its always on a PA 1 page, does this pass a lot of link juice as long as the DA is high? I know the PA can go up by promoting the page, but i rather promote my own website than one page linking to my site. Any thoughts on this?

At a Loss With What to do With This Site
Hi people, a friend of mine runs a payday loan site with a very valuable domain name: http://bit.ly/1lyJgME The site was penalised by Google about 18 months ago, up until then it ranked #1 for payday loan and on the 1st page for the plural, payday loans in the UK. Now the website is nowhere in the top 200 results for either of the phrases, but he has not received any notification from Google and if he checks in webmaster tools in the manual actions section there is nothing there. He has gone through all of the links to his site several times and attempted to remove any unnatural links, those that he could not get rid of after emailing twice he disavowed - about 800, a lot were not even built by him. He has sent 2-3 reconsideration requests to Google and every time they said that the site had not been penalised, or something to that affect. The site does have lots of quality organic links from websites like Wired Magazine and the National Geographic, more then enough decent links to rank somewhere on Google for its keywords. I feel that the site may have been held to a higher standard because a lot of people think that payday loan websites are unethical. What do you think he should do? Can you spot anything on site that is wrong? He has definitely tried to remove every single unnatural link and the ones he could not he disavowed.

Backlinks and Domain Authority
Hi there, I have a question on backlinks. I have seen conflicting stories about it, and hoping someone with a vast amount of experience will be able to help me (If you could please be so kind). Now I understand the difference between 'no-follow' links and 'follow' links. I have accumulated quite a few 'no-follow' links through things like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc. I understand that they won't feed my site authority or trust; or anything of that sort (I do work on content too, and have gotten a few follow links, don't worry). Now I have seen conflicting answers to the actual importance of them. Some things I have read are saying that SEs completely ignore them (NFL), and they don't even consider them a 'link', but rather a user tool to further the experience of the reader on your site. Which is fair enough, but then people are turning around and also saying that Google relies heavily on them, and they only make up 5% of the internet or something. I have even read something saying they are the only ones worth getting (I know that is bs, but they must have a reason behind this thought?). If someone could enlighten me as to a 'ideal' ratio, and also any little known authoritative sites I could look at submitting content to. I am in the plumbing business, and doing my own sites, so I'm no expert. Also, what are the importance of comment links? I don't go for them, but don't know if I should? Sorry for the mouthful, but I would really appreciate help on this matter. Kindest regards, Kyle The Plumber Bro's The Electrician Bro's

Does it help to have more than one backlink from the same website?
I have received two follow links from a website with a domain authority of 64 because I contributed to 2 blog posts. Will it help my site to get more back links from this same website or should I focus my efforts elsewhere?

If I am not, I desperately need it. I am ranked 3rd on my SERP which I have always ranked 1st. I need to go back to one asap. Please help me guys 🙂 I need as much of an explanation to accomplish my goal as you can muster! Get this solved and I will be a subscriber after my free period (lol).

Ad banner from news site
Hi Everyone, I have a company calling me about adding a banner for our business on a news site for a monthly fee. The fee includes the banner and a profile page. The domain authority for the news site is high (84) but the profile page that it links to actually goes to a 3rd party site (DA=65). It is from this page that I could link back to our site. Aside from the marketing value of the 250x300 ad on a page that gets a ton of traffic, would it be better to link back to our site from the profile page on the 3rd party site or directly from the banner on the news site? I hope I've given you enough info. Best,

Hey guys wondering which is more important getting links from authority sites or relevant sites?
basically a site that has really high authority but not that relevant or medium authority pages but relevant. an example an authority site with a mozrank of 80 or a relevant site of 20.
