I have an integrated blog on my website, but should I have another blog elsewhere? Like Blogger? Tumblr?
-
Is it a good or bad idea to have other blogs, for the same company??
-
Personally I think it's a bad idea, I tried it and it was a waste of time, 0 results. My time is better spent improving the quality of our websites, adding rich content and building links. It's my understanding that 3rd party blogging site are not indexed by Google anyway.
Just my opinion, hope it helps

As a general rule you ultimately are trying to get people back to a place you own, so they have the option of joining your email list. So if for example you know people who want whatever you're selling use Tumblr a lot, you should take a snippet of your post and post there, with a link pointing back to the original location.
But don't fall into the trap of thinking if you just repost your blog in a bunch of places, you'll get a lot more traffic. Better to pick a forum where your target buyer hangs out for example and be active on it month in and month out, answering questions etc., And if a question pops up on the forum you've already answered on your blog appears, link to the blog post. Or do the reverse. Answer questions from the blog in detail. Then provide a summation of the blog post in the forum, and provide the link if they want more details. This is a hard but ultimately more effective way of getting attention, than just trying to get your blog posted in a bunch of places.
I might have misunderstood your question. If you're asking about creating other blogs with different content in other places, it won't hurt you, but normally after a month or so, other blogs are abandoned. Just keeping one updated regularly over time is hard work. And put quality and promotion of that quality blog over multiple blogs with mediocre content.

Blog hasn't ranked since reposting.
Hey Moz fam! I had a blog that was doing pretty well for the target keyword. Unfortunately, to make a long story short, we had an image in it we weren't supposed to so I unpublished it for a few days while we got that sorted out. Since republishing (with all the same content) it has not gotten a single impression. I inspected the URL and it is totally eligible but nothing in the way of organic traffic. Any ideas on how I can recover?

Why should I avoid publishing off-topic content on my website?
As a fun project, my team wanted to build a mini-food blog based off the lunches we make here at our office -- but we're a software company and, topically, our product has nothing to do with food. Therefore, I suggested that we not publish this content on our website + create a Medium publication instead (this would also help us avoid the headache of creating an entirely new section of our website / potential 404 issues from non-technical editors / etc.) However, I struggled to articulate _why _it's a best practice to only publish relevant content on your website. Is it to help search engines understand what your website is about as an entity? Spam signals?

Hi There, I have my main site : example.com and a related blog https://blog.example.com/ My management does not believe frequent content posting on the example.com My Queries 1- Will it help boost ranking of **example.com **if we share frequent content on our blog https://blog.example.com/? How much impact it has? 2- Every body says content is the king, Ok fine, but when you are not allowed to share it on the main corporate site, then where to share it? Blog and social media sites? please help. 3- We are in a business where clients do not bother to go on sites and read, so in this scenario is it correct to say that you hav to create the content for search engine consumption even when your clients dont need it/or have not in the habit of reading it? Hope somebody will enligten me caught in catch 22. Regards Tanveer

Is it better to have your blog open in a separate window?
I've set up a blog on one of my websites, however it doesn't open in a separate window. I know from looking at other blogs that they usually open in separate windows. Is that good practice? Will it make any difference to your SEO performance?

Does it do any damage to post my blogs for marketing community websites on my own website too?
I'm blogging quite often for one of the biggest marketing community's in the Netherlands and I want to post these blogs on our own company's weblog too. Our own blog is meant for sharing professional know how and boosting our identity as professional web agency. But off course, we also benefit from it SEO wise. If I post these blogs on our own weblog, I have to add a link to the original article on the marketing community website. So, my question is: will that cause any damage for our own website?

Sub directory vs sub domain for company blog
My company's blog is currently a sub directory - www.site/blog.com but for technical ease we are considering changing it to a sub domain - www.blog.site.com. What are the SEO ramifications of each? Thank you! Best, Sara
