Schema Markup Doesn't Make Any Sense!! Help Please
-
Hey again Moz community!
I've been trying to read up on schema markup and watch videos multiple times (!) but I can't understand how it works. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can answer these questions:
-
Do I need to ‘markup’ every part of the article? Like “this section can be FAQ snippet, and this can also FAQ etc..". So I guess my question is how detailed does the markup have to be?
-
What are the best tools to use for schema markup for wordpress?
-
What are the best tools to use for schema markup for react web-app?
-
The https://search.google.com/test/rich-results shows if the markup is good for a page, but it doesn’t provide any details. For some articles it says that sitelinks searchbox is detected but that’s only one type of snippet possibility? Do I need to add additional markup for, say, list snippets and FAQ snippets if I want a chance to get those?
Thanks a lot!

Before understanding schemas you need to understand how JSON LD works I had the issue in the past but with a couple of hours studying JSON LD I mean just the basic it will be easier for you
On the other hand, you can use some generators and then modify the code. (Again you will need some basic knowledge of JSON LD)

Does Google ignore content styled with 'display:none'?
Do you know if an H1 within a div that has a 'display: none' style applied will still be crawled and evaluated by Google? We have that situation on this page on line 136: view-source:https://www.junk-king.com/services/items-we-take/foreclosure-cleanouts Of course we also have an H1 up at the top of the page and are concerned that the second one will cause interference with our SEO efforts. I've seen conflicting and inconclusive information on line - not sure. Thanks for any help.

Please... Help me convince my boss that Keyword Density is not-important / damaging.
If you can, please provide any and all talking points that I can use in this argument. It seems that no matter what I show him, including Matt Cutts' video debunking Keyword Density back in 2011, it doesn't seem to stick. He is fully, 100% convinced that keyword density is hugely important and we need to focus our time and energy on it. Any sources you might have to help me show him that this is a myth would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Hi mozzers and members, I am having issues, why my website: http://profilecosmeticsurgery.com/ crawl by Google? let me share more clearly when this starts happening. A month or around 45 days back our website is being indexed and crawled quite well without any issues with having .html extension pages with static built website.

We finally thought to change to .php version and make whole website and its pages to be treated dynamically.
Once we changed all changes, thereafter this issues started. It has been more than 45 days, our website isn't being crawled since then. I didn't know what are the things preventing this to? Please help. Thanks in Advance Capture1.PNG0 -
Google + and Schema
I've noticed with a few of the restaurant clients I work with that Schema isn't contributing at all to their SERP -- their Google + page is. Is there any way to have more control over what Google is pulling to help make UX better? I.e. showing photos of the restaurant without a logo, etc.

301 redirects aren't passing value.
We recently migrated our shop to a new platform. We are using Wordpress for our main website, but we wanted a separate installation of Wordpress for our shop, so we left the main blog where it was, but moved the shop to a /shop/ sub directory with it's on WP installation. So now we have 2 installations of Wordpress. However, since we've done this, none of the pages on the new shop are ranking for anything. Their page rank is 0, and Moz page authority is 1 for every page on the new site. I've set up the proper 301 redirects, and they're redirecting fine, but none of the page value is coming over. It's been about a week now, and despite re-crawls by google, I'm not seeing any change. Also, one of the original (now re-directed) product pages still has a Page Authority of 13 according to Open Site Explorer. I know it's not high, but it had us ranking in the top 5 for a very important keyword, and now that value is being wasted. For example, one of our product pages that was ranking well was startupfashion.com/product/fashion-brand-line-sheet-template

That page is now redirected to
http://startupfashion.com/shop/product/fashion-line-sheet-template I've done 301's plenty of times and I've never seen this issue, so i'm wondering if it could have something to do with having multiple installations of Wordpress. I can't see any obvious issues with it... i have the Yoast SEO plugin configured properly on both installations, and all of the pages ARE being indexed by google. Not sure what is going on. Anyone have any experience with this, or have any ideas? Thanks!!0 -
A few questions on Google's Structured Data Markup Helper...
I'm trying to go through my site and add microdata with the help of Google's Structured Data Markup Helper. I have a few questions that I have not been able to find an answer for. Here is the URL I am referring to: http://www.howlatthemoon.com/locations/location-chicago My company is a bar/club, with only 4 out of 13 locations serving food. Would you mark this up as a local business or a restaurant? It asks for "URL" above the ratings. Is this supposed to be the URL that ratings are on like Yelp or something? Or is it the URL for the page? Either way, neither of those URLs are on the page so I can't select them. If it is for Yelp should I link to it? How do I add reviews? Do they have to be on the page? If I make a group of days for Day of the Week for Opening hours, such as Mon-Thu, will that work out? I have events on this page. However, when I tried to do the markup for just the event it told me to use itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Event" on the body tag of the page. That is just a small part of the page, I'm not sure why I would put the event tag on the whole body? Any other tips would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Is my schema implemented correctly and not spammy?
i already used the validation tool from Google. It tell's me it's implemented, but i would like to know specifically if everything is implemented correctly and in a non spam way. Here is a product link to test: http://www.suddora.com/pink-sweatbands-wholesale-pink-wristbands.html

Thanks for the help!
I just wanted to say thank you all for the advice you've given on this board. When I first joined we had been stomped by Panda three times and our traffic was down about 40% from last year. Since then, we've followed recommendations here and while we aren't quite back to where we were before, our traffic for the last three days from Google is higher than any time since May and trending higher. We are also up in Google rank for 70% of our tracked keywords and showing up for 15% that we weren't even on the radar for in August. We still have a lot of work to do but know that we are on the right track. We can now do the same on a site that survived the initial hit but got slapped in July. I just want to reiterate what others have said: Get rid of duplicate urls - 301 redirect all dups to a single page Flesh out or drop pages with low content value Find 404 pages that used to exist and instead of 404s, 301 redirect to current resources Fix speed issues This forum was well worth the subscription.
