Questions in regard to putting 2-3 keywords in a title tag.
-
Hi all,
Here is the situation. There are two services A and B in the page. B is more like a complement to A (they have something in common). C is the umbrella term over A and B. However, our company focuses more on A (70%) than B (30%). Questions:
1. Can I rank the keyword A for the page, while the page has B? (e.g. A | brand name) Will it hurt the seo, with B being in the page?
2. If I write the title tag this way: A | B | brand name . Will A and B dilute each other?
3. How about this: **A | C | brand name **(the idea behind this: We focus on A, but also include C because we have B in the page.) Does this make any sense?
I am a newbie to SEO and I realize that could be confusing. Thank you for any support and explanation.

Hey!
why don't you write three pages? C being your number one page linking out to A and B? That way you are explaining the relationship of the services to the customer and to Google. Win win?

Hi Raymond,
It is very well possible to rank on different keywords on 1 page. I would not focus to much on the page title and title tags but mainly on the content of the page. If you explain clearly how and why A,B and C are connected it is clear for visitors what they need.
Good luck!

My visibility went from 14% to 3.33% this week. HTTPS Change?
So I am trying to figure out how my google rankings dropped from 3 to 9 This past week. Could it be the new HTTPS security issue? My site was created in HTTP not HTTPS. Is this an easy fix? Can I hire someone on this site to fix this?

How to make my site title H1?
Hi In my Header.php I have the following php code for my title: <title><br /><?php<br />// Generate Page Title dynamically<br />if (is_home()) {<br /> bloginfo('name'); ?> - <?php bloginfo('description');<br />} elseif (is_category()) {<br /> single_cat_title(); ?> - <?php bloginfo('name');<br />} elseif (is_single()) {<br /> single_post_title();<br />} elseif (is_page()) {<br /> bloginfo('name'); ?>: <?php single_post_title();<br />} elseif (is_404()) {<br /> bloginfo('name'); ?> - <?php _e("Page not found", "fungames");<br />} elseif (is_search()) {<br /> bloginfo('name'); ?> - <?php _e("Search results for", "fungames"); echo esc_html($s, 1);<br />}<br />?><br /></title> This generates a good title different for every page/post I have on my site. Q&A DB Script For Client Questions
Our clients usually have a lot of questions about our industry. We implemented Facebook comments (see bottom of: http://www.jwsuretybonds.com/info/faq.htm) on many pages throughout the site to allow our clients to ask whatever they'd like and build additional content using copy on how our clients speak, not industry expert vocab... I have some problems with FB comments: Our answers only show to people logged into FB. For others it looks as if we don't reply. The data pulls from FB, so we don't own it and it is slower than our server. You need a Facebook, Yahoo, or Hotmail account...I want anyone to be able to ask a question. Can anyone recommend a script that accomplishes our Q&A functionality using our own database? Also, I'd like to allow anyone to post without a requirement of an account. If I had a WordPress site, I suppose this would be easier, as I'm sure there are various comment solutions, but I have a HTML\PHP based custom built site.

Question Mark In URL??
So I am looking at a site for a client, and I think I already have my answer, but wanted to check with you guys. First off the site is in FLASH and HTML. I told the client to dump the flash site, but she isn't willing right now. So the URLS are generated like this. Flash: http://www.mysite.com/#/page/7ca2/wedding-pricing/ HTML: http://www.mysite.com/?/page/7ca2/wedding-pricing/ checking the site in Google with a site:mysite, none of the interior pages are indexed at all. So that is telling me that Google is pretty much ignoring everything past the # or ?. Is that correct? My recommendation is to dump the flash site and redo the URLS in a SEo friendly format.

Why do site links appear under one keyword and not another? Any ideas?
Hi everyone, I have a client whose website is doing the strangest thing. When I search the branded keyword (the company name), Google doesn't show any site links under the result. However, when I search for the company name plus Inc., I do get site links. Now, the website is ranking first in both searches, so that's not the issue. And, as near as I can tell, the site only contains one or two uses of the company name plus the word "inc." Most of the text on the page and all of the meta data only uses the company name, and most of the links that connect to the site use only the company name as well. Even the Who Is for the site doesn't use the term "inc." And ideas what might be going on? I know Google says that the process is still automated but for the life of me I can't figure out what kind of automated process would result in these results. Thanks! Megan (Rebecca's minion)

Question About Site Redesign and Nav / Page Structure
Hey guys, i am currently redesigning our company's site, and have come across some things that I'm not quite sure of. We used to have individual service pages in our main navigation (design, video, marketing) before the redesign. In this new design, i had the idea of making just one "services" or "capabilities" page, where these three services would each be outlined, and each service would have a list of links to more specific landing pages. Obviously, breaking it up correctly with HTML5 using the andtags. What I'm wondering is that if i'm going to be penalized for having those three services that aren't necessarily related too closely on the same page as opposed to having the one page for each service (like we have now). Any help would be greatly appreciated, and let me know if i need to elaborate more. Thanks in advance!

Google changed the title?
I've been reading that Google will sometimes change the home page title, and I have finally seen this in action. Search for and on the second page you'll find but the title says Academy Dog Training. Which is not what's in the title tag for this page. Did Google change the title tag on us and if so why? How can we get them to use our title?

Header tags - big H1s after small H2s
Just spotted bigger H1s and small H2s on a website, in the newsroom. The smaller H2 = section heading (Newsroom), the larger H1 is a news headline. Might that cause me any search engine problems?
