Noindex for tags in wordpress
-
Hello everybody.
I marked all of my tags in a WordPress site as "noindex, follow". Because my tags were made a lot of low-quality pages.
Am I did it right?
my website is: https://injazanoonas.ir

@dannybaldwin tag and tag pages aren't worth much in the eyes of google. So it's fine to noindex them (you want to use "noindex, nofollow"). Just ensure Google/Bing can find pages that provide value to users and that you build internal links pointing to these pages.

if your company website can't get crawled and indexed, it will not appear on Google,
so this does needs to be fixed.
We saw this with a company selling luxury summerhouses, and if say pages, blog posts cant get indexed, then can negatively affect the seo.

yes, but now go the complete way. Get rid of the links to these tags, because you link to stuff you don't want to index, is low quality and i bet not used. Why sent google there every time?
If they are used you may change your opinion and do something different with the tags - but I saw them and the links, they are not in use i bet.

Should I noindex?
I'm currently importing about 15000 posts to my site that are essentially businesses that have posted their programs for people to sign up. To sign up the user clicks the button that links to the program provider's website. I also have the option to link directly back to the original directory site that the program was posted on. I've scraped this information from a different website and I want to make sure I don't get penalized. I don't want to spin the content because it produces poor quality content. I don't necessarily need to rank for the pages because I have relevant, direct traffic coming to the site via purchased domains. I plan on at least contacting all of the larger program providers to let them know that I've listed their programs on my site and to give them the option to manage them. My Questions In order to avoid any penalty, should I just apply a rel="noindex on all of the posts/programs? My domain is still new so I'd imagine that's probably what I should do but definitely need some reassurance. Thanks for your time!!

How do I fix a broken link to a product category page in wordpress?
We are building a new site currently at http://67.222.109.48/~cheapnan/ I started doing some SEO after the developer I hired failed to do it even though it was in the agreement. I did our old site so I should be able to do this but I am new to wordpress. Now when i go to the products tab at the top of the page the first 2 have broken links, I checked the rest and there are 3 total that I need to fix. I am unsure how to access the navigation so I can fix the links. Please tell me where to look.

Rel="noindex in a guest post
I'm guest posting on some sites and one of them placed my back link as follows: mysite.com I'm not sure what he's trying to achieve with the help of rel="noindex"? The first that jumps into my mind is that Google will index the post but skip my backlink. So, there's no sense in such a bakclink, ringht?

Wordpress post templates
Hi everyone! What I need is a way in Wordpress for the author to select a category for their post, and then have a template come up with some fields in addition to just the large field where you write your post, where the author can add some additional information. Then on the final post, have that information added to the top in some format that I (as the admin) can control. What I'm doing is setting up an internal company blog so our employees can have more visibility across teams. Some categories of posts will always include the same information, like release numbers, conference attendance, yes/no conclusions, among other information. If there's a plug-in for this, free or not, that would be great! If you can't tell I'm a Wordpress noob... so please bear with me. 🙂

Fixing Wordpress URLs
I just redid our blog and I am using permalinks. I have the custom structure set to /%year%/%postname%/ and catagory - blank. When I run the XENU Link Slueth, it shows all my blog urls as broken, but the links work fine. However the url structure is www.example.com/2010/10/20/ and so on. I am worried about duplicate content too. Do you know how I can fix the url structure so only 1 or 2 urls are used?

Are post tags on blogs still useful?
Hello I have a number of sites on Wordpress which all still use the post tag feature. Is this something that I should really be avoiding due to duplicate content issues in the url's of the site, or is it still something that can help SEO wise? I only ask as I did a crawl diagnostics report on SEOmoz and it found that 48 of my title elements were too short due to these tags in the URL's. If you do all suggest I keep using them, should they be 3 odd words which are keywords? Thanks in advance.
