301 Redirect to mobile site effecting rankings
-
On my site I redirect users when on a mobile device to be redirected to my mobile version of my site. In the last couple weeks I added that redirect in my htaccess file. I just realized today that I am doing a 301 redirect. In the last few weeks my ranking have gotten lower. I am starting to think that because of the redirect my mobile site is not as optimized as my regular site and therefor is effecting my rankings.
My question is how can I redirect my users to my mobile site but not use a 301 AND how do I get google to use my main site content for ranking on the mobile side. I want to go back to getting my search rankings on the mobile side using my main sites content. Can I simply remove the 301 on the redirect?
Hope that makes sense.

How do I reverse it so that google will use my desktop to rank my site on mobile? Do I simply redirect without the 301?

The results are the same on both pages for sure.
I was using a htaccess file to do it with a 301.
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/m/.$RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} "android|blackberry|ipad|iphone|ipod|iemobile|opera mobile|palmos|webos|googlebot-mobile" [NC]RewriteRule ^(.)$ /m/ [L,R=301]

Not sure if this helps, but Duane Forrester from Bing stated at a conference I attended recently that it is better to use one URL for your desktop and Mobile site.
Here is an article suggesting the same: http://www.seroundtable.com/bing-mobile-seo-14861.html
One thing he did say was that if I come to your site via my desktop and do a search, I would like to obtain the same results if I searched your site on my phone.
The article does state that in some cases you would want to have different mobile pages from your desktop version.
Also, how have you applied a 301 redirect for mobile pages only?

I am using the following script that works well which may help you?
But the question I have to add to the discussion is from the jquerymobile site I want to add a link to the full website if the user chooses to view the full site.
The problem with the above script is that because there is a redirect to the mobile site it ends up in a loop so the user can never see the full website if they so wish
1.) How can I get around this? (I would rather use javascript if possible because some of my sites are not using php
2.) Will Google see the content on the mobile pages as duplicate content? At present I have put a noindex on the mobile site - is this the correct way of dealing with it?

After 301 redirection non-English keyword points to English language pages
We had multilingual website on .co.uk domain and somewhere in April, we've done 301 redirection from domain1.co.uk pages which were in Polish language to domain2.com/pl domain and now for some Polish keywords Google SERP sometimes shows English pages (.com) and sometimes polish pages (.com/pl). Previously co.uk/en had English content and that got redirected to .com. What could be the reason? Thank you for all responses.

How we can rank two keywords
Here is my example. I developed a property inspection app, where the keyword I try to rank is property inspection app, and property inspection software. Property Inspection Software got slightly more traffic than app. I would like to rank both of this keyword high for my main website, but there is only one title, one H1 tag I can use to have keyword, where if I use "App" there is no way to have "Software" on the title, etc. How can I deal with such a case? Any help will be appreciate.

General drop in rankings
We've made a LOT of improvements to our on page SEO and we've been on the right track, but since about 26/7 our rankings appears to have gone down. Since early 2015 we've reworked a lot of the copy on our site to improve the unique/duplicate ratio, we've redone a lot of urls that didn't make any sense. We've improved image alt-text and file names. We've reduced image size on most of the site and we have disavowed spam links (obvious ones like nike shoes and oakley glasses). We've basically improved on-site SEO as much as we can with headers and whatnot. We've been hacked 4 times since January and we had two partial manual penalties from Google, but they were quickly dealt with and we've switched server to one that is both safer and a lot faster. Most of the hacked content seems to have disappeared from Googles index but not all of it. We have also tried our best to deal with URL parameters and we've made 301's out of hundreds of URLs with duplicate content from old slideshows that basically only had an image. And there's even more things we've done like working a lot more with social media, but despite all that were loosing ranking every week and our SEOlytics SVR is at its lowest since early 2014. And we've never (afaik) bought links or anything like that. Obviously we're doing something wrong but frankly we're running out of ideas. We've lost rankings on individual important phrases but there's site-wide general drop.

Does keyword usage in the footer have an effect on how high a page ranks?
My client has a lot of text about their company in their footer. Is the text in the footer associated with the on page keyword usage and density for all pages or none of the pages?

Site Wide Link
I have just run up the link explorer on my site and discovered that every page home page link points back with the text home - I assume this is bad in terms of SEO , my site name is ccie and I assumed that it put the site wide link of ccie to the entire site, however it seems to be the breadcrumb default of home which is doing it/. www.rogerperkin.co.uk/ccie Should I be looking to change this so my top keyword points back from each page to the home page. I am running wordpress and assumed the site name was the home link on all pages. Can anyone advise the best practice? Thanks

Is there a report in SEOMoz that will show me what keywords each page ranks for on my site?
I would like to find all of the keywords not just the keywords that I specified in the tracking section.
