Has anyone had problems with thier google maps page after the google plus intergration?
-
About a month ago Google contacted one of my clients to inform them that the Google places is discontinued and their Google plus page will be the new Google places. They gave my client an $100 adwards credit for adwords express so their location will still show up for their business name during the change from Google places to Google plus..
When you type in the business in a local area or on a GPS now.. It is no where to be found. You have to know the address to get directions or go there on a mobile devices.
The Google plus page for all of these locations is not currently showing up either.
I have contacted Google and Once again something has been released without implementing it correctly. No one seems to know what is going on... after talking to three people.
Does anybody know what is going on ???? This is a huge deal when being a local company.

Hi John,
I wonder if you will find your issue described in Mike Blumenthal's latest post:
There has been considerable fallout from the changeover to Google+ Local. Perhaps you will see your situation described in the above.

Yeah, I think in the last month there have been tons of problems going on with Google Local pages.
Previously people had just been creating + pages for their companies and now with the Places page turning into + pages, a lot of companies now have multiple + pages showing up on their website. This is hurting both Google+ and the new local pages.
I've seen this happen a lot in the last month and have had to work with a few clients as well on the issue. Hopefully in the next month or so, these issues will be addressed. -
I have sent you a private message with the details... Thanks for the reply!

Hey John, unfortunately, we could flip this question on it's head and ask, has anyone not had problems with the Google places Google Plus changes, in the UK at least.
The thing I am seeing though is that it seems to be settling down a bit and the duplicate google+ page that was created after our Google places page got shut down (and we already had a Google+ page) has been merged with my brand page so... it seems to be getting better.
Can you give an example? The business name or some such? Local is not my big area but happy to take a look and see if anything jumps out at me from the ones I have dealt with so far.

What exactly "monthly searches" from Google Adwords teach us?
I have noticed that monthly searches of our "brand" in last five years is almost same. But I can see our competitors have increased their brand searched for monthly in last few years. They are gaining popularity slowly where we are not. What are the other things we can learn when users searching for our brand are not increasing? Thanks

Multiple Google+ pages when entering new foreign markets?
We are a medium size business on our way to expanding to new countries. Right now we have one Google+ account in Denmark. When expanding to more markets outside of Denmark, should we then set up a Google+ page for each country? Or is it better to stick with the one we have? Thanks in advance!

Do you think its ethical to use your personal google authorship for outsourced content?
I routinely outsource nicely written content but never use my google authorship for those articles. Should I be adding my google authorship to those articles? Or would that be unethical and violate googles TOS?

How can I claim authorship for a doctor using their title "MD" on Google Plus?
Hi Everyone, I am wondering how to claim authorship for doctors while still using their title "MD." Adding MD to Google Plus profiles goes against Google name policy, but in order to comply with the FTC we need to include "MD" to our doctor's name in our article by-lines. I have sent in many appeals with evidence that they have a degree. I also considered creating a "Google Page," but had the impression that you cannot claim authorship with rel=author tags with a "Google Page," only rel=publish. Can anyone help me figure out how to claim authorship for a doctor using (first name last name), MD ?

Trying to de-mystify Google Places, Google Local & Google Plus
There is a lot of online 'noise' regarding the changes / merging and making the best out of Googles' Places / Local & Google Plus. Any tips, ideas, experiences or just plain revelations regarding all or any of the above services and how they will work & come together in the future?

Changing a "city" or "town" location in google maps
Hello Mozinators! I have a client I currently work with doing SEO that has a rare problem that I have not come across before nor have I been able to find any information on how to make changes for it. The problem being that the city/township is more of a community that has yet to officially be labeled as a city, yet is still marked as a town on google maps. This is a great step in the right direction however the google maps location is over the wrong place. I have attached screenshots of the google maps for this location. In the top is a place called "Lakewood Ranch" and it is not in the correct spot. Lakewood Ranch should instead be in the bottom corner of the overview screenshot, where the town center is and the medical center off of the "University PKWY" exit. I have absolutely no idea on where to start to get these changes put in place, nor if they can even be put in place. Please let me know! Thank you so much in advance! a86TM.png u1ipV.png
