    Hi MozFans,

    I have got a question out of the field about www.coloringpagesabc.com.
    Question is why the rankings and traffic are going down down down the last 4 months.

    Costumer thinks he got hit by google penguin update(s).

    The site has about 600 page’s/posts al ‘optimized’ for old seo:
    - Almost all posts are superb optimized for one keyword combination (like … coloring pages)

    • there is a high keyword density on the keyword
    • titles and descriptions are all the same like: <keyword>and this is the rest of my title, This is my description <keyword>and i like it
    • internal linking is all with a ‘perfect’  keyword anchor text
    • there is a ok backlink profile, not much links to inner pages
      -  there are social signals
    • the content quality is low

    The site to me looks like a seo over optimized content farm

    Competition:
    When I look at the competition. The most coloring pages websites don’t offer a lot of content (text) on there page. The offer a small text and the coloring pages (What it is about :-))

    How to get the rankings back:
    What I was thinking to do.

    • rewrite the content to a smaller text. Low keyword density on the keyword and put the coloring pages up front.
    • rewrite all titles and descriptions to unique titles and descriptions
    • Make some internal links to related posts with a other anchor text.
    • get linkbuilding going on inner pages
    • get more social signals

    Am I on the right track?

    I can use some advise what to do, and where to start.

    Thanks!!</keyword></keyword>

    Maarten

      Probably a Panda problem.

      The site has thin content:  Lots of the pages have close to zero content.

      The site has duplicate content:  Content was stolen by your client or others stole it from him.  Look here.

      ==============

      The title tags need work:

      <title>woody-coloring-pages-002 - Coloring Pages ABC Kids Fun Pagetitle>

      ==============

      The site has a huge intellectual property problem.  There may be DMCA's against the site.  Rankings could be reduced by the Emanuel Update.

      ==============

      Potential Penguin problems:  The site solicits "link exchange" and "link partners".

      ==============

      My advice to client would be to abandon this site unless he has rights to the images.

        My url disappeared from Google but Search Console shows indexed. This url has been indexed for more than a year. Please help!

        Super weird problem that I can't solve for last 5 hours. One of my urls: https://www.dcacar.com/lax-car-service.html Has been indexed for more than a year and also has an AMP version, few hours ago I realized that it had disappeared from serps. We were ranking on page 1 for several key terms. When I perform a search "site:dcacar.com " the url is no where to be found  on all 5 pages. But when I check my Google Console it shows as indexed I requested to index again but nothing changed. All other 50 or so urls are not effected at all, this is the only url that has gone missing can someone solve this mystery for me please. Thanks a lot in advance.

        My product category pages are not being indexed on google can someone help?

        My website has been indexed on google and all of its pages can be found on google except for the product category pages - which are where we want our traffic heading to, so this is a big problem for us. Our website is www.skirtinguk.com And an example of a page that isn't being indexed is https://www.skirtinguk.com/product-category/mdf-skirting-board/

        Is possible to submit a XML sitemap to Google without using Google Search Console?

        We have a client that will not grant us access to their Google Search Console (don't ask us why). Is there anyway possible to submit a XML sitemap to Google without using GSC? Thanks

        How to avoid Google penalties being inherited when moving on with a new domain?

        Looking for SEOs who have experience with resetting projects by migrating on to a new domain to shed either a manual or algorithmic penalty. My questions are: For algorithmic penalties, what is the best migration strategy to avoid inheriting any kind of baggage? 301, 302, establish no connection between the two sites? For manual penalties, what is the best migration strategy to avoid inheriting any kind of baggage? 301, 302, establish no connection between the two sites? Any other input on these kind of reset projects is appreciated.

        "Null" appearing as top keyword in "Content Keywords" under Google index in Google Search Console

        Hi, "Null" is appearing as top keyword in Google search console > Google Index > Content Keywords for our site http://goo.gl/cKaQ4K . We do not use "null" as keyword on site. We are not able to find why Google is treating "null" as a keyword for our site. Is anyone facing such issue. Thanks & Regards

        Help! The website ranks fine but one of my web pages simply won't rank on Google!!!

        One of our web pages will not rank on Google.  The website as a whole ranks fine except just one section...We have tested and it looks fine...Google can crawl the page no problem.   There are no spurious redirects in place. The content is fine.  There is no duplicate page content issue.  The page has a dozen product images (photos) but the load time of the page is absolutely fine.  We have the submitted the page via webmaster and its fine.  It gets listed but then a few hours later disappears!!!  The site has not been penalised as we get good rankings with other pages.  Can anyone help?  Know about this problem?

        Infinite Redirect Loop without trailing slash, please help

        I've been searching for an answer all day, I can't seem to figure this out. When I Fetch my blog as Google(http://www.mysite.com/blog) WITHOUT a trailing slash at the end, I get this error: The page seems to redirect to itself. This may result in an infinite redirect loop **HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently** When I Fetch my blog as Google WITH the trailing slash at the end(http://www.mysite.com/blog/), it is fine without errors. When I pull it up in a browser comes up fine both with and without the trailing slash. My .htaccess file in the root directory contains this: RewriteEngine On
        RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /index.htm\ HTTP/
        RewriteRule ^index.htm$ http://www.mysite.com/ [R=301,L]
        RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mysite.com$
        RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L] My .htaccess file in the blog directory contains this: BEGIN WordPress <ifmodule mod_rewrite.c="">RewriteEngine On
         RewriteBase /blog/
         RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^./index.php/. [NC]
         RewriteRule ^index.php/(.*)$ http://www.mysite.com/blog/$1 [R=301,L]
        RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
        RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
        RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L]</ifmodule> END WordPress Do I have something incorrectly coded in these .htaccess files that could be causing this? Or is there something else I should look at? Thank you for any help!!

        URL Error or Penguin Penalty?

        I am currently having a major panic as our website www.uksoccershop.com has been largely dropped from Google. We have not made any changes recently and I am not sure why this is happening, but having heard all sorts of horror stories of penguin update, I am fearing the worst. If you google "uksoccershop" you will see that the homepage does not rank. We previously ranked in the top 3 for "football shirts" but now we don't, although on page 2, 3 and 4 you will see one of our category pages ranking (this didn't used to happen). Some rankings are intact, but many have disappeared completely and in some cases been replaced by other pages on our site. I should point out our existing rankings have been consistently there for 5-6 years until today. I logged into webmaster tools and thankfully there is no warning message from Google about spam, etc, but what we do have is 35,000 URL errors for pages which are accessible. An example of this is: | URL: | http://www.uksoccershop.com/categories/5_295_327.html | | Error details In Sitemaps Linked from Last crawled: 6/20/12First detected: 6/15/12Googlebot couldn't access the contents of this URL because the server had an internal error when trying to process the request. These errors tend to be with the server itself, not with the request. Is it possible this is the cause of the issue (we are not currently sure why the URL's are being blocked) and if so, how severe is it and how recoverable?If that is unlikely to cause the issue, what would you recommend our next move is?All help is REALLY REALLY appreciated 🙂
