Should I link from my blog back to my product pages?
-
Hello...
I just installed a blog on my Magento site.
My question is whether or not i should be linking within posts on the blog back to the product or category pages that i am talking about...from an SEO perspective.
If in my post i am talking about flashlights being important when preparing for a storm, should i link the word flashlights to the flashlight category on my site?
I know I can do this, the question is should i, from google's perspective.
A) should i link the word (flashlights) to that category on my page
B) should i put a line at the bottom of every post that says something like "if you are interested in purchasing flashlights, visit this link" and hyperlink that whole sentence...
THANKS!

I don't include this information on product pages because it is too long. The product pages are short and sweet for good conversions, although a link to this additional information is obviously posted for people who view the product pages.
The articles are typically over 1000 words, several photos and a video.
These articles also target keywords that the product pages do not and they pull in a lot more traffic from search than the product pages. Lots of the traffic that enters these pages moves to the product pages through obvious links and some of them buy the product.

Should this content not be included on the individual product pages?
-
Thank you, Sir!

Most of my posts are about "how to use this product".
My goals in creating them are....
-
make helpful content that increases the trust of prospective buyers.. In emails lots of people tell me that they bought from my site because I have so much good content about the product -much more than the manufacturer or any other retailer.
-
make helpful content that answers questions that prospective buyers might have - this saves phone calls and email questions
-
make helpful content that I can link to when someone writes with a question or refer to on the phone
-
get more pages in the SERPs for product-related keywords. This expands your keyword reach and earns double listings for valuable keywords

EGOL, you are a great help!

you're saying that an internal link within a blog post is good, correct?
This is what I do. I believe that it is helpful for SEO and helpful to visitors.
I have lots of articles on a blog and every one of them links to a product page whenever that product is mentioned in the article. (I only link once to that page in each blog post - the first time that the product is mentioned or the mention where I think the reader's interest to view or purchase might be highest.
is there a guideline as to maybe how many links i should put per post?
I have never heard about any "guideline". I can only say what I do.
One of my post could have links to one, five, ten or twenty products. Most have three to five.
If those products are mentioned naturally in the post then I link them. I am not trying to stuff products into posts, just whatever natural writing creates.

thanks for the reply...
just to be a little more specific, my money site is: example.com
The blog is on example.com/blog .... you're saying that an internal link within a blog post is good, correct?
And if i understood your answer properly, and I am to continue linking within posts, is there a guideline as to maybe how many links i should put per post?
Thanks again!!

should i, from google's perspective?
I can say that internal links can improve rankings and they can transfer small amounts of anchor text value to the target page (or at least that was the case the last time I experimented about a year ago - who knows what google did yesterday or will do tomorrow).
So, based upon that, if I write an article that has a relevant connection to a product on my site I will make an anchor text link to the product page.
This should be helpful to visitors. If you are talking about a widget twister in an article the person reading might want to look at one for informational reasons... or they might want to buy one. Either way, that link helped the visitor.

Unsolved Are links from staff profile pages no longer good for SEO?
Hey there, We run a small site that lists lawyers and we have an opportunity to ask the lawyers to display a 'badge' on their own website's staff page, linked back to the page on our site that they are listed on. Initially I thought this would be good link building (i.e. the lawyer's own staff/profile pages on their website linking to our site where they are listed = a highly relevant link). I was less concerned about the authority of the law firm's sites, though these will range from sometimes low-ish to medium. I just assumed that Google would see the value in the lawyer wanting to link to our site where they are listed. However, our SEO has said that these days Google doesn't give much/any value to these types of links from individual staff pages. His advice was to try and get the badge added to one of their service pages (or their About page) which will be unlikely as the badge is person-specific. I thought I'd ask if this was everyone else's experience regarding Google not valuing links from individual staff pages? Thanks for you help 🙂

When conducting a link building strategy does it matter the country the link is from?
We are a UK business and if we have links mostly from US based blogs and websites does this penalise us. The links are from relevant websites and topics. Should we be focusing on .co.uk sites

Has anyone used Fat Joe as an outsource solution for blog links?
Hi guys, I have seen a company on social media a lot recently who offer a guest blog posting service. It seems to be reasonable quality from the reviews and the blurb they give as they at least seem to find you a relevant blogger to match up with, actually write good content with as many reviews as is needed and then post it to just that one page. I noticed on their site they have claimed that their service is Loved by Moz but I couldn't find any reference to them anywhere on the Moz site. My question is - has anyone used them and are the links going to be any good for my site?

Link building for a product review site
I'm doing SEO for a product review website, and I'm curious what link building opportunities are best for this category. Assume only the following: The website is basically a blog Most of the articles are reviews on cosmetic products, though there are also articles regarding news, product roundups, tips&tricks and similar content The website is in a local, non-english language Disregarding low-value opportunities such as directories, what kind of websites should I aim for outreach purposes? So far, I'm thinking the following: Product manufacturers (very low success chance, as the review site is fairly new and in a localized language) E-commerce sites selling the products (average to low success chance, since a lot of them use CMSes that might not allow integration of a review) Other cosmetic blogs, particularly for guest blogging (average to low success chance, since the website is fairly new) Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

How many links with page authority to beat competition if we already score 62
How many links with page authority do I need to beat or get closer to competitor with page score 78 and domain authority score 72, if we already score 68 on page and 62 domain authority. This is in one of many beauty product markets. I ask because there is a company offering me for $80 each 10 links with higher than 70 page score (up to 80) and higher than 74 domain score (up to 86). All the other factors: number of links and social are almost the same for our website and the competitor's

Too many links in my blog post created by comments. Should I worry?
Every year, we do a popular "Favourite pictures of the year" contest where people vote on the best picture (i.e: their mate's) in order to win something. But I just found that I'm going way over the "Too many links" limit and I think it's because of all the comments. 1. Is it a problem 2. Is there a way to de-activate the links? Thank you! 🙂 Ioan
