So, Google is the best site on the internet.. Right? Or is that just what most people tend to think off-face?
-
LOL woah, put the guns away.
I'm not about to rant, I just have a question and wanted to present it well.
Then again, I might have actually found some easy fixes to some of Google's tools that they could make.
So here's the thing.
I noticed how annoyed I always getting when I have to sign in every time I go to the adwords keyword tool, or analytics.
Why do you have to sign in a million times?
I think it is a problem that can be fixed because if you go to check your webmaster tools, you go straight into your account, where you can then select which site you want to explore.
It knows that I am already signed in to Google Accounts when I go to webmaster tools, but it doesn't recognize that fact when I go to my Analytics account, or to use the Adwords Keyword Tool.
Now, every site has things that they need to work on, but not necessarily that need to be 'fixed'. Google being so commonly accepted as the best site on the net, I thought it was funny/interesting at the least to point out the problem.
Even funnier is the fact that I could submit it as a problem to see if they could fix it or not, but they do such a good job of making it hard for people to contact them, that A) I don't feel like wasting my time trying B) I don't even really know if it is possible to do that.
Also, why is there no official Google Analytics App / Mobile site??
Google has been pushing how important mobile is to us webmasters, but then it doesn't seem to be very high on their priority list for the tools that we use.
I mean you can't view graphs on phones / tablets (mine at least), in webmaster tools, OR google analytics.
Also, its a pain in the but to click the sign in button on Google Analytics when using my phone / tablet, it disapears really fast for me (needs more research from others to see if everyone has the same problem)
Thanks for the interest / answers everybody.
Look forward to hearing from you guys.
Also, tips and help would be nice if anybody knows a solution to my sign in issue

Who said Google is the best site on the Internet? Honestly - I don't think I have every heard anyone say that before.
There is a GA app by the way. I've seen the official one in Google Play store. However it looks rubbish, so I have not bothered. The main site works ok on my mobile so I tend to use that anyway.

Backlink Query. Unranked pages of High Ranking sites.
Hi, So I was just wondering if someone with more knowledge than myself can answer this question for me. I have a site - currently sat on page 2 of google. On-site optimisation is done, however I am struggling to get backlinks that are from highranking pages. I am new to SEO so need a hand. My understanding of backlinks is that the higher the PR of the site that links to your 'money' site, the better that link is, and that these links are very hard to come by. (something that I am finding). Many times I have found sites that have a high rank and offer for a free listing, only for me to fill in details and get listed on a sub-page that has no ranking whatsoever. So my question is, are these kind of links worth the effort? Do they actually have any effect on rankings? And generally would anyone have any tips on the best sites to get links? Thanks

What do you think of this?
A company that contacted us for SEO ended up going with another company, because we already had an impact windows client and we make sure to be exclusive to our clients for the terms we target. Over the past 5 years, we ended up over performing for our client and now they have so much referral business that they decided to cancel with us... Kind of a bummer, but we take it as a compliment. Now that we are able to target those keywords again, we are looking into the site that contacted us originally. Before contacting them we looked at their sitemap and this is what we found. IMO they are stealing money from this client. What are your thoughts? should we contact them and let them know the direction this company is taking? [identifying information removed by Moz staff]

Google Site Warnings via Phone?
I received a voicemail earlier stating that "there are two issues with your company's current Google listing that we need to discuss with the business owner. it is very important that we talk as soon as possible. press 1 to speak with an agent immediately. press 8 if you have already verified your account information or if you are no longer in business and want to be removed from this list. thank you" that's it. no contact number, no reference to what listing or what type of listing (organic, places, etc.) Checked GWT, GA, and the Gmail - there are no warnings or messages in any of those accounts. Has anyone else experienced this?

Google number one search result looks drastically different in firefox compared to chrome
I just noticed this today that some websites and brands look like this on firefox only, and others while still being number one result for their brand name, do not appear like this at all. also, this does not happen over chrome at all. both images provided for comparison are using the same google apps account logged in. It would be nice if someone could shed some light on as to why this happens sporadically and what does it take to be distinguished like this for your own brand if you own the identical domain.com or whatever. Will Google ever begin penalising bad English/grammar in regards to rankings and SEO?
Considering Google seem to be on a great crusade with all their algorithm updates to raise the overall "quality" of content on the Internet, i'm a bit concerned with their seeming lack of action towards penalising sites that contain terrible English. I'm sure you've all noticed this when you attempt to do some proper research via Google and come across an article that "looks" to be what you're after, then you click through and realise it's obviously been either put together in a rush by someone not paying attention or putting much effort in, or been outsourced for cheap labour to another country whose workers aren't (close to being) native speakers. It's getting really old trying to make sense of articles that have completely incorrect grammar, entirely missing words, verb tenses that don't make any sense, randomly over-extravagant adjectives thrown in just as padding, etc. etc. No offense to all those from non-native speaking countries who are attempting to make a few bucks online, but this for me is becoming by far more of an issue in terms of "quality" of information online as opposed to some of the other search issues that are being given higher priority, and it just seems strange that Google have been so blasé about it up to this point - especially given so many of these articles and pages are nothing more than outsourced filler for cheap traffic. I understand it's probably hard to code in something so advanced, but it would go a long way towards making the web a better place in my opinion. Anyone else feeling the same way? Thoughts?

Google Trends - what did you do?
So is it me or did Google make some crazy changes - The "trends" are no longer anchored to appropriate articles etc... Why do you think they would remove something so useful to us? http://www.google.com/trends/ - check it out for yourself. tumblr_m5jh04D65G1ry8grko1_1280.png

Google Keyword Tool Showing Conflicting Data
Google Adwords Keyword Tool is showing different data for the same keywords. Broad Match Local Search Volume is 2400 apiece logged in from my main account. Local Search Volume 3600 and 1900 logged in from a different account. Can anybody explain this? I have screenshot of both.

Google Webspam Algo Update 24/4/12
Having just checked our clients rankings 95% have not been affected, in fact many have moved up rankings. 1 or 2 have had big drops 😞 Who has been effected by this? The forums are full of people talking about sites being floored from the serp's. it will be interesting to follow the aftermath of this and get some insight into what exactly has changed!
