How to increase the traffic and keywords ranking
-
Am working on a website http://www.greavescotton.com. A month ago most of the keywords were in first page. This month I have noticed the fall of keyword rankings. I have checked the webmaster tools for any mails and messages but I did not find any. So can anyone please visit the site and check it and please give me the suggestions accordingly to increase the traffic and keywords. Also I would like to know the advantages of commenting in Youtube.com.

Thank you HealthLotteryMan.
Thank you Gordon.
The drop is from past 2-3 months.
I have been doing the SEO activity from past two years. Regularly I do blog commenting, directories, social book marking, classifieds. But from past two months I stopped submitting in blogs as am unable to find new blogs related to my website. Instead I submitted in more number of directories. So I have seen the fall of keywords rankings after I have stopped the blogs. I tried press releases too but did not find much difference.

Health Lottery Man has pointed out a few places to start - all good ideas.
Look at the time of the drop - what have you done around that time. Can you see a cause and effect going on here?
However, my other question is whether the work you are doing on the site is just recent. I've often seen results start out well, but then seem to sink over the following weeks and months. In reality they are just finding their natural place on the web, and it's from this point that you need to start the hard work.
Have you done keyword analysis on your keywords? Do you know their difficulty? Have you used the on page grader to give you an indication of how each keyword is working on any particular page. How does this stack up against the competition who are now ahead of you.
Also use the open site explorer to check not only your back links, but your competitors. it's a long, slow process, and whilst it's discouraging to see your results slide, there is a certain satisfaction watching them rise again!
Enjoy!

If it's not manual (from Google Webmaster Tools) and the website remains unchanged and the drop was sudden then this will be an algorithm punishment. Or the industry has become more saturated, how did you generate backlinks to the website? was there any on going SEO efforts? what time did it drop?

Keyword research
Hi, When you do keyword research and my terms is SEO for example. Do I need in the content to have the word "SEO" by itself and then a related keyword like "SEO tools" as 2 separate keywords or can I have "SEO tools" only and will this be counted as 2 separate keyword. The 1 st one will be "SEO" and the other one will be "SEO tools." Thank you,

Wrong page ranking for keyword - should I move the better content over?
We have a page which is outranking another page for a keyword that is very important. The page that is lower in the rankings has far better content. I think this is happening due to links as well as the url structure. domain.com/ranking/notranking Here is the page we want to rank: http://bit.ly/1vqhSoZ Here is the page that is higher in rankings: http://bit.ly/1vA1wXQ So I think I should just move the content over from /notranking, to /ranking. The content is clearly better on the lower ranking page but I think due to links the /ranking page is higher in SERPS. So I guess my question is, would it be wise to move all that content over, and then 301 redirect the old page? Or leave the way it is and hopefully Google will get it right over time?

Negative SEO and big decrease in main keyword ranking
Hi about 4 months ago, I had ranking #1 to #4 for "SEO" in Persian in my country; but someone made about 1000 spam links to my site and some other industry sites. I disavowed the links when I see (after 2-3 days of OSE detection). But now I'm in the page 2 of rankings for the most important keyword I ever had. The point is, My visits increased in this months, but I lost my rankings for this keyword not others. The spammy links targeted my main keyword. Whats you idea to get my ranking back? I'm writing content about SEO, Marketing and blogging for about 4 years and I don't have any bad resume in buying links or stuffing keywords or ... All natural.

Bing Ranking Factors
I have a site and we rank very competitively on Google, but we would like to increase our exposure on Bing and Yahoo. I was wondering if anybody might have some tips or pointers for increasing your ranking on Bing. Also, if anybody knows of any Bing ranking guides or top ranking factors for Bing that would be very useful too. Thanks, Jason

Ranking Factors for Google
Yesterday a blog post appeared on SEOMOZ titled 'A Tale Of Two Studies' - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/a-tale-of-two-studies-google-vs-bing-clickthrough-rate It suggested some of the ranking factors Google and Bing take into account when ranking. A few of them I want to talk about: Social Signals, Age of Domain and H1 HTML Tag So I thought age of domain and H1 both had some weight in Google? I guess not! And social signals, now I know it gives some weight but its right up there in the list for both SE's, so should getting likes, tweets, plus1's now be part of my everyday link building? Keyword Self-Cannibalization
Hi, Happy Friday! I was advised to look at the SEO strategy of a UK SEO company and copy a technique they used, however, I have doubts that this technique is any good. So mydomain.com targets My Domain For my main keyword phrase, I was told to place a link to a newly created inner page in my footer, targeting the main keyword and on this page, create unique content which points back to my homepage. Now I also have mydomain.com/my-domain.php which has a link to mydomain.com with anchor text My Domain. Based on the SEOMoz reports, this now seems to be Keyword Self Cannibalisation and I think that it is diluting link juice and the value of my SEO on my homepage for this term rather than helping. Can you advise if this technique is wrong?

Bing and Yahoo rankings
I must admit its every 3 months or so I check these listings 🙂 I would even admit we are that engrossed in google we forget these sites exist many times. I wanted to see if anyone had experience doing sep for these sites and what sort of techniques you used in order to help improve these rankings. I tend to get great listings on Yahoo for many sites but bing seems slightly different. Would love to find out some information on the algos on each of these.
