what are the pros and cons of placing videos on the native website as opposed to pushing the you tube channel?
If I move the youtube and vimeo to the native website will i loose all the link juice?
is there an easy way to have transcript of the audio as html in the site?

CON:
"if your video ranks, it will direct users to youtube, not your website - so there is limited SEO value from that perspective."I agree with this. Having your traffic directed to YouTube doesnt really do your site or traffic any favors, BUT you can include links in the description and on the video overlays to combat this.
Vimeo Pro allows you to directly embed vidoes on your site, and not have the branded video player.
PRO:
Its free, and really easy to use/upload/delete/share/modify.
A lot of people use YouTube. Seriously.
Google indexes YouTube videos in search result pages
Can overlay ads on your videos for extra revenue
Vimeo is $100 a year iirc.
Videos all under one account, and uses gmail account to manage/log inTo be honest, I don't think it makes a difference. I would focus on spending extra time on your video, to make it more "conversion-friendly". Spend more time on your message, and what you want to communicate to your viewer. That way, it wont matter where you host it, people will want to come see you.

These are the pros and cons of youtube from my perspective:
**Pros: **Youtube videos will likely get more eyeballs. Loading videos to youtube are better for virality, sharability, and exposure. Youtube is great for generating top-of-the-funnel type of awareness
**Cons: **It is fairly challenging to drive traffic from youtube to your website for a conversion. Also, if your video ranks, it will direct users to youtube, not your website - so there is limited SEO value from that perspective.
Vat19.com is a company that uses the virality of youtube to it's advantage with their product videos. If you are looking for an alternative, I really like Wistia.com if you would like to use rich snippets and use videos to drive traffic to your site through rich snippets, embeds etc.
As far as transcripts go, https://www.speechpad.com/ is great if you are willing to pay for the service, otherwise you could just type it our if you have the time.
I hope this helps

Onsite Videos- Multiple on a Single Page- How to Optimize?
I have a specific page which needs multiple videos. A primary video of the client (Youtube Video) and two secondary videos with patient testimonials (Wistia Videos). Here is the actual page: https://www.johnbarrasdds.com/houston-tmj-dentist/ My understanding is Google only values the first video on a page. Is this accurate and either way what is the best practice for how to post the second group of videos and gain SEO value? Thanks!

Is there any benefit of having a .tv tld instead of a .com for a video centric website?
We are launching a video dense website. Is there any evidence that having a .tv tld can help with video optimization? We are trying to find proof that Google looks at a .tv tld favorably for video SEO as opposed to a .tv website.

Schema markup for video playlists?
We're adding schema markup for all of our videos, but some videos exist only in a playlist (all integrated into one URL, and loaded after a javascript call). Per Google: "Make sure that your video and schema.org markup are visible without executing any JavaScript or Flash." https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2413309?hl=en So we know the current implementation won't work for schema markup... What's the best practice for adding schema markup for video playlists? Should we host all of these videos on individual URLs (but then they appear twice) or is there some other workaround?

Posting same video on both Vimeo and Youtube
A client likes the control of Vimeo Pro for embedding videos on site, but for search purposes would like to create a YouTube channel with the same videos, perhaps with altered titles and descriptions. This is the same video content in two places - will we run into duplicate content issues? Thank you, Stephen

Using Folkd for Video Backlink
Hi Mozzers, What are your thoughts on using www.folkd.com for video SEO? We have a few company videos and would like to possibly get a backlink by either embedding one of our youtube videos on our site or self hosting the video. Are bookmarking sites like this spammy?

Add Videos Above or Below the Fold?
We are considering adding videos to thousands of article pages, and were wondering if it would be better to add video above or below the fold? They take up quite a bit of space, and push the article content below the fold--would this hurt us?

Should we stream videos from a subdomain or subfolder?
This is causing some hand-wrangling and I need some help. Let's say we were developing rich video content for our products and our agency is hosting the content on a new external server. There are already plans to link to these videos from product detail pages, category pages, and landing pages on our main website: www.example.com. Would it be better to create a new subdomain or to use a subfolder with a reverse proxy technique for this video content? It's not truly a microsite and will not have a gallery page to navigate the various videos. For example, would it be better to use this: video.example.com/ ...or this (executed with a reverse proxy😞 www.example.com/video/ Of course, regardless of whether this new content will live on a subdomain or within a subfolder, we plan on creating a video Sitemap using guidance from Justin Hammack in this terrific post.
