Do we need to post unique content on every Social media website?
-
Can we use the same content (description) for FB, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ etc?
-
"Let's put this to bed once and for all, folks: There's no such thing as a "duplicate content penalty." At least, not in the way most people mean when they say that."
"Duplicate content on a site is not grounds for action on that site unless it appears that the intent of the duplicate content is to be deceptive and manipulate search engine results. If your site suffers from duplicate content issues, and you don't follow the advice listed above, we do a good job of choosing a version of the content to show in our search results."
This information is from Susan Moskwa, Google Webmaster Trends Analyst.
The only problem with duplicate content is that Google has to decide which copy should rank highest.

Bas is 100% right, you do not have to but each social media outlet's audience act differently. To get the most out of your social media postings you should tailor your message delivery and content based on each platforms strengths and what your customers respond best to on each independently.

Ive been using the same content with all the social media sites. Never thought about it.
I guess that what Bas is saying is reasonable: you can engage with the followers offering different content in different social sites.

Hi Howard,
As for the 'have to', I'd say no, you don't really have to use unique descriptions with your content on those networks. But I'd keep in mind that your audience is on several of those networks because they want to find different kinds of content or want to engage in a different way. Thus by copying descriptions and make something potentially unique generic, you might miss a good opportunity to connect with your audience on one or more of those networks.
Just my 2 cents, hope this helps you

Recommended Social Media Scheduling platforms
I am currently using BufferApp to schedule my social media posts. My scheduling gets messed up at least once per month, where I lose posts or days are skipped, etc. without any changes (and even when I can see the expected schedule). I have used Hootesuite in the past and I like it, but I prefer Buffer when it works. Is there something else that works as good as Buffer used to? Thank you.

Social signals: are they weighted differently?
I know social signals affect your site's ranking: but does it make a difference whether these come direct from your website (eg, people click on the Facebook button on a page, which is then posted to their own profile - ie, they create their own post) or whether people are share/like a post you have created on your Facebook account which contains a link to your website. Are they seen as equally as useful/important?

Google+ Doesn't Show my Post Title
When I create a new blog post and link to it on Google+, the thumbnail & description are correct, but the HTML title it pulls in is just the company name. I have the proper HTML title tag and OpenGraph tagging on the page too, but lately (last 3 posts) it just shows company name: Here's an example. It used to work on the first handful of posts, but the last 3 or 4, it just show the "Company Name" next to the thumbnail image & above the description. <title>Some blog post title - Company Name</name></p> <p>...</p> <p>...</p> <p><span><meta </span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-name">property</span><span>='</span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-value">og:title</span><span>' </span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-name">content</span><span>='</span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-value">Some blog post title - Company Name</span><span>'/></span></p> <p> </p> <p> </p></title>

What Happens To Social Media Love After A 301?
Say you have a WordPress site with a number of posts that have all been given lots of tweets, G+, FB likes and other social media love, and say you are showing that using a social media plugin on each post that shows the counts of all of these. If you 301 redirect the pages to another site, will the social media love counts follow, or will the page on the new site have to start again as far as social media is concerned? QhqeL

Add pictures to website or Slideshare
For a law firm website looking to increase its traffic by offering pictures of cars that were in accidents, would it be more advantageous to add the pictures to the website directly (my inclination) or to Slideshare and put the embed code on the site? Also, we will have an abundance of pictures over time. How would you organize them on the site to maximize their SEO benefit? Have a picture landing page, then links to individual months from the landing page? Finally, assuming I go with a landing page with links to the months of the year (where that months pictures are stored), should each picture ultimately reside on its own page or is it sufficient to have all pictures for that month on one page?

Incentivisation Strategies for Social Sharing of Product Pages
Hey, What are some great tips for gaining social shares on ecommerce product or category pages? I understand great images and video will go along way, but it's difficult on a large scale ecommerce store. Receiving an offer for sharing something is great - I honestly cant think of a way to track this strategy in a large scale manner. I can send an email after a purchase making an offer to go back to the page to share, but how would I track this? Thanks.
