Google Webmaster Tools Not Showing Correct Data?
-
Hi,
I am experience a weird issue. Google webmaster tools suggested me some HTML improvements a few weeks ago. The suggestions were about duplicate Title Tags and Short Meta Descriptions. I changed the Title Tags and Meta Descriptions. But after 3 Google Updates, webmaster still shows the same suggestion.
Please advise
Thanks

Just had to chime in here. I made changes at least 6 weeks ago, probably more like 12 weeks for some pages, and Google is not updating the HTML improvements page. I will look into trying to manually send some URLs in to see if this changes.

Dimitri beat me to the suggestion.
It does take a long time but at least you'll know the correction itself has been picked up if you Fetch it. You're now making me curious to get some issues like that generated on purpose and then time the removal of the warning when both a natural crawl and Fetch are used. Is it different timing in Webmaster Tools? Odd that I've never thought to ask that but now looking forward to a simple and easy to run test.

Hi Kashif,
Give it a try and let us know if you think it works, in our case it didn't change anything unfortunately. You usually have to wait like mentioned above a very long time.
-
hi,
this i should try to manually fetch those pages.
Thanks

Hi,
Updates means Crawl Update. I have made changes about 3 weeks ago and updated the site map too. During these 3 weeks, google have crawled my site 3 times. But the html improvement suggestions do not change.
-
It takes reeeeally long time for GMT to refresh their data. I'd recommend to request recrawl manually for those pages. And just make sure that the pages are updated. Sometimes I forget to upload some changes and then wondering why in the world nothing is working
-
Hello Kashif,
By "Google Updates" do you mean crawls of your site, or updates to the algorithm? It sounds as if your site has not been crawled/indexed since you made the changes, which is why GWT isn't indicating the issues have been fixed. This sounds like an issue that some time and patience will solve.
How long has it been since you made the updates?
Thanks,
Rob

Solved Recommended title length for Google search results
I read the recommended title length is 50-60 characters depending on alphabets, etc,.
On-Page Optimization | | Mike555
Anyways, my question is, is there any harm of having longer title?
If all my important keywords are within the 50-60 characters that will show up on search results, I can still make the title longer, it's just that those keywords outside won't have any effect on search results?0 -
Fixing Index Errors in the new Google Search Console - Help
Hi, So I have started using the new Search Console and for one of my clients, there are a few 'Index Coverage Errors'. In the old version you could simply, analyse, test and then mark any URLs as fixed - does anyone know if that is possible in the new version? There are options to validate errors but no 'mark as fixed' options. Do you need to validate the errors before you can fix them?

My Meta Description changes when i use different keyword in google search.
Hello everyone, I have a question for the community. I have a website with several articles and news that i manage. I set specific meta descriptions for every page but when i search in google it gives me back different meta descriptions depending on the keyword that i use to search. What i notice is that google looks in my page for the most relevant part of the text that combines with my keyword and gives me back that result. I thought that this only happen when i have an empty meta description. Anyone felt the same ? Best Ricardo www.meuportalfinanceiro.pt

Google indexing https insted of http pages
Hi!
On-Page Optimization | | ovieira
First of all i have a Wordpress portuguese languagem website (**http://**bit.ly/TGjpVx). For a while, for security pourposes, i had a SSL certificate installed on my website but i didn't renew it, for a few months now. I didn't have any special https page. All pages responded using http or https. My problem is that it seems that Google still indexes some o my webpages with https and not http, so when people click on it they get a bad cached page. No good for SEO, i think. What can i do about this? I only want Google, and other serach engines, to index my clean http pages (about 70 pages). Thanks,

Does Google respect User-agent rules in robots.txt?
We want to use an inline linking tool (LinkSmart) to cross link between a few key content types on our online news site. LinkSmart uses a bot to establish the linking. The issue: There are millions of pages on our site that we don't want LinkSmart to spider and process for cross linking. LinkSmart suggested setting a noindex tag on the pages we don't want them to process, and that we target the rule to their specific user agent. I have concerns. We don't want to inadvertently block search engine access to those millions of pages. I've seen googlebot ignore nofollow rules set at the page level. Does it ever arbitrarily obey rules that it's been directed to ignore? Can you quantify the level of risk in setting user-agent-specific nofollow tags on pages we want search engines to crawl, but that we want LinkSmart to ignore?
