Hi Dan,
here you can find one of those pages: http://www.selbstbehauptungsakademie.de/blog/2012/03/12/freundschaft-bei-kindern/
And yes, the description is inserted in a Yoast-Formfield.
I have seen, that the Plugin has the Versionnumber 0.4.2. I think that version is very, very old. Maybe that is my problem and I will try an update before comlaining again...
Best regards
André
Hi Shane,
many thanks for your answer, but I'm not sure, if I'm getting you right. I'm no programmer, so I don't know what "forcing rewrite" means. Do you think, I have to change the sourcecode in the plugin from ' to " ??
Maybe out there is another user of Yoast (I know there are... ;), who know this problem, too?
Thank you very much
André
Hi Hi,
I'm using the Plugin "Wordpress SEO by Yoast". Unfortunatelly, this plugin generates a sourcecode looking like this:
name='description' content='XXXXXX.'/>
Seomoz can't read this and tells me, that my pages have no description. Google doesn't matter and reads it correct. Is there anything I can do about this?
Many greetings
André
Hi people,
I keep on reading and reading , but I won't get it... I mean this page:
http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=189077&topic=2370587&ctx=topic
On the bottom of the page they say:
Update the HTML of each URL in the set by adding a set of rel="alternate" hreflang="x"
link elements. Include a rel="alternate" hreflang="x"
link for every URL in the set, like this:
This markup tells Google's algorithm to consider all of these pages as alternate versions of each other.
OK! Each URL needs this markup. BUT: Do i need it exactly as written above, or do I have to put in the complete URL of the site, like:
The next question is, what happens exactly in the SERPS when I do it like this (an also with Step1 that I haven't copied here)? Google will display the "canonical"-version of the page, but wehen a user from US clicks he will get on
http://en-us.example.com/**page.htm **???
I tried to find other sites which use this method, but I haven't found one. Can someone give me an example.website???
Thank you, thank you very much!

Hi Community,
maybe this question hasn't to be answered directly, but can be answered with a link. I am sure the answer must be out there on the web...
I have a company, a companies website and a companies facebookpage. Now the question: What kind of user activity on my facebookpage is good for the organic ranking in google? Is it only good, when people click the "like"-Button on my homepage (which gives me a nofollow-backlink from facebook - unfortunatelly in most cases hidden for googles eyes)? Is it useful when I get a "like" directly on my facebookpage? Or is it the best to have a status on facebook that is shared very often?
Will Google see the connection between a shared facebook status and my website (of course the website is on the info page of my facebooks site...)?
I ask that because I wonder how (for example) a viral picture on facebook shared very often can helb my business.
Uuuuh, so, where's my answer on the web?
Thank you!
André
Hi Miriam,
thank you for your answer. Thist is exactly what I want, BUT, when I get it right, I need an API key that is no longer available. The website says:
The Maps API requires a free API key that's associated with your Google Account and the URL of your web site. You can sign up for one here, and substitute it as the value of the "&key=" parameter in the script tag below.
When you click "here", the upcoming website says, that you can't get this API key. I don't know, if I can use another API key, or something??

Hi Hi,
I recently saw the Seomoz Webinar "All About Google Places", and there was the advice to make a custom map with google spreadsheet. I tried it, but it hadn't worked. It seem, that this service is deprecated: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/spreadsheetsmapwizard/makecustommap.htm
I can't find another way doing this with spreadsheets. Can anyone help?
Thank you!

Hi Hi,
on the On-Page Ranking Card I read:
"The meta description, while it does not influence rankings in the results, can still be valuable to employ to improve the click-through-rate of searchers from the results page and to provide context to those visitors about the page's topic/focus."
And Google confirms that it doesn't influence the results.
On the infografic on this page (text is in german), the say, it has a little relevance for the serps and that is what I experience, too. http://t3n.de/news/diese-faktoren-beeinflussen-365580/
What is you experience with meta description and serps?
