Human Representation on a site

Hello Friends, thank you for helping in advance.
My website http://www.FrontlineMobility.com gets a lot of traffic and with our Google Adwords campaigns we have very good click through rates(percentages from 1 percent to 4 percent). So I know that I am getting people to my site, but I can't get them to spend money. It seems like they get there ready to buy, but something turns them away at the last moment. My Partner feels like we should put more pictures of people on the site so that people feel like there is a face to our company. I am also in agreement with this, but I would also like to know if anything else is wrong with our site that perhaps maybe another set of eyes could perceive. Thank you again Moz friends.

Just another thought. Do you send out questionnaires to people who have got as far as registering their details but then not bought? This can occasionally give some useful insights (bearing in mind response rates are low), as can a quick survey immediately after an order is placed to find out why people chose to buy from you. One of our sites presents an order confirmation page which incorporates a survey - when people tell us what we're doing right it makes it easier to do more of it!

Hello Friend!
I thought about it being a technical issue however I ran through some orders myself and found it pretty basic with little comprehension of technology necessary. I do appreciate the insight about the brands being faceless as well as our promises to the customers.
-
Hello Friend and thanks for the input, it is more of a gut feeling however the analytics don't show a high bounce rate, where people are hitting the site and then leaving. they are staying there looking around then they leave. I didn't think about the shipping aspect of that being a key feature. The service of setting up the product is only offered locally by the company that I work for. I'll have to think about that aspect, I appreciate the insight.

I had a quick look at your site and I think you could do more to show who you are - you talk about your offers but you don't really talk "about us". There aren't any immediate signals that you offer secure shopping - this in combination with a more personal message might make it easier for customers to cross the trust barrier and buy. That said, if you know that people are getting onto your site and browsing then stopping short of conversion then have you done some test orders yourself to make sure customers aren't encountering something offputting as they approach the checkout?
If I were you I would include prominent testimonials from satisfied customers as well as making the brand less faceless. You might want to look at some general info on conversion rate optimisation as well to see if that gives you some more ideas - http://www.conversion-rate-experts.com/ is worth a look.

When you say "they turn away at the last moment", are you tracking this through a funnel in analytics? So in other words, is the engagement (time on site, bounce rate etc) good, and they are looking at products and adding things to their shopping cart and then canceling the sale? Or is that more of a gut feeling?
It sounds like a good look into your analytics is the place to start. Segment organic vs PPC and have a look. Check exit pages and check engagement for specific keywords. Maybe you're getting a lot of informational visits?
Also, it seems like this a complicated type of product to ship, and shipping to people who might have a hard time unpacking and assembling etc. Do you ship and set up the equipment? It seems like at a glance, this could be an issue.
The human face could help a little, but the shipping thing seems like a logistical issue that you may want to provide more information about. When I click "how to buy" it just shows me the item categories, not really anything about "how to buy".
Hope that helps!

Filter Tracking works fine at staging site but not on LIVE site why?
Hello Expert, For my ecommerce site I want to track filter url's like price range, size, width, color etc and fully filter url should display in google analytic. I have implemented filter tracking at staging server and it works perfectly but on LIVE site it not show me full filter url. Do you guys think any parameter which i have configured in search console affect this? Note - I have configured in this way - http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/93008/how-to-track-a-product-filter-in-the-product-list-view-with-google-analytics My filter url's are given below. And in search console I have configure two parameters. 1) effect - Sort, Crawl - No urls 2) FT - effect- ( - ) , crawl - Let google bot decide. But as per me this parameter is for crawling should not affect tracking right? mysite.com?FP=0&filtSeq=Price&Sort=BS

Curious, anyone ever had over half of their indexed links drop on an e-commerce site?
In a year went from around 300k indexed pages to around >100k according to GWT. Could this be duplicate content issue, lost links, spam, aged links or all of the above? either way an audit is in order. Thanks! Chris

How Am I Linked to These Sites?
I was going through Google Analytics, specifically looking at the Channels under Acquisition. I found a number of sites that Google is giving credit as sources of traffic.

When I went to the sites, however, and searched the page source for links to my site, I could not find any. My site is www.towermarketing.net. The sites being listed by GA are:
blackhawkhardware.com
musicas.baixar-musicas-gratis.com If anyone can tell me how Tower is getting traffic from these sites, and what I can do to fix it - because at this point I am considering them spam - I would appreciate it. Thanks!0 -
Which Algorithm Change Hurt the Site? A causation/correlation issue
The attached graph is from google analytics, a correlation of about 14 months of Organic Google visits with algo changes, data from moz naturally 🙂 Is there any way to tell from this which will have affected the site? for example #1 or #2 seems to be responsible for the first dip, but #4 seems to fix it and it broke around 6, or is the rise between 4 and 7 an anomaly and actually 1 or 2 caused a slip from when it was released all the way to when 7 was released. Sorry if the graph is a little cloak and dagger, that is partly because we don't have permissions to reveal much about the identity, and partly because we were trying to do a kind of double blind, separating the data from our biases 🙂 We can say though the different between the level at the start and end of the graph is at least 10,000 visits per day JarMzoK.png

One big site for a loose theme or multiple sites for each specific theme?
Hi, Our company produces content related to one loose overall theme. Within that we write content and sell products on three specific sub-themes. Some of our customers cross over and have an interest in two or all three themes and others are only interested in one. At present we have one site covering reviews of products relating to all three sub-themes... ....and three other sites offering how-to guides and tutorials dedicated to each sub-theme. We do not have a lot of time to commit to SEO and so we are considering merging the content we have on all three subjects into the one site covering them all. Each of these sub-themes could have websites in their own right and my worry is that it will be harder to rank for these subject specific terms if the content is not on a site dedicated to that subject. But of course if they were all together then any links we build will be consolidated into one big site. Does anyone have any experience of this or have any advice on what the best thing to do would be? Thanks for your help!

Does a Manual Penalty Affect Other Sites in Same GA Account
Hello Mozzers, I was a bit foolish a couple of years back when first getting into the game, and employed a dodgy agency to do some SEO for me on some sites. Fast forward to this year, and the two sites in my Google Analytics account have been hit with a manual penalty. I decided to ditch the websites and move on, so removed them from my GA account, webmaster tools etc and will simply let them die a death. My question is, do you think this would affect how easy it would be to rank other websites within my GA account? Does anybody have any views on this? Thanks!

Why am i getting a flux of increase in Impressions on my site & then it decreases
They guys. Hope everyone is having a great week. I wanted to get some inputs from you guys in regards to what is happening to my site that i quite don't understand. Every month or so i get this influx of high visibility with impressions for my keywords and then the impressions go away but my rankings still keep going up. Has anyone experienced this before and can give me some insight on what is going . Why do i get such a big jump and then it dies off only to return again a month later or 2 months later. I know you guys want probably some info from my site or from analytics or webmaster tools so i will provide as much as i can . For now i have included a screen shot. Internal site referrers
Hi, So I have a segment of my website-let’s call it /examplea, I am trying to figure out how many visits I have to /examplea from all other areas of my website i.e. /exampleb, /examplec etc to /examplea so almost internal site refers to a particular segment of my website, Any thoughts on how to do this within Google analytics ? Marc
