Difference between page/domain authority
-
could anyone explain the difference between Page Authority and Domain Authoity to me or give me a link to a site where it is explained?
Sorry if It's really obvious and I'm just too stupid to find out, but I've searched and haven't found anything.

Domain Authority is based on the strength of the whole domain while Page Authority is based on the strength of the individual page.
Here are the full explanations:

Hi,
I was searching for the answer to this too and found this:
Domain Authority predicts how well a web page will rank on a domain. The higher the Domain Authority, the greater the potential for an individual page on that domain to rank well.
Page Authority predicts the likelihood of a single page to rank well, regardless of its content. The higher the Page Authority, the greater the potential for that individual page to rank.
You can use Domain Authority and Page Authority to quickly target pages and websites that have the best potential to perform well in search engine results pages.
It's important to note that both Domain Authority and Page Authority are on a 100-point, logarithmic scale. Thus, it's much more difficult to grow your score from 70 to 80 than it would b to grow from 20 to 30.
Behind the scenes, Domain and Page Authority scores are calculated using SEOmoz's Ranking Models work. In essence, we analyze rankings data from the search engines and then and build a predictive scoring system using our own on-page analyses and Linkscape link data.
You can see these metrics in action by checking out our Open Site Explorer tool.
Hope it helps
Lindsay

Domain Change Post Mortem
Hello, my company changed our domain 2 weeks ago and we are just starting to see traffic level back out, except for Organic. The site is on shopify so it made switching the domain pretty easy, as well as the 301 redirects (no url structure changes). We've taken all the proper steps with google/bing webmaster tools as well as monitoring 404's and 301 testing and don't see any red flags. Does anyone roughly know how long it takes for 301's to re-index and domain authority to start building back up for our new domain? Our old domain was about 13 years old and the new one was parked for quite awhile. p.s. I also noticed a lot of our traffic ending up as referral from our old url. I was able to wipe the sessions from analytics which cut it down, but will this persist for the foreseeable future? Thanks!

Or should I comb the website and make sure all links to the Home page dont include index.php? Just looking for some extra help here, learning as I'm going, thanks!!0 -

For an optimized site, any available stats / guesstimates on what is avg % of traffic to homepage vs. second-level pages?
I'm interested in passing this info on to a client who experienced a period of time when an incorrect GA code was installed on their homepage. They were able to get Google stats on second level pages only. This is a site that gets 80 + % of visits from organic search engine referrals. They do minimal advertising. Thanks in advance.
