Best hosting

We understand that some companies offering class c ips can still be fingerprinted.. Is there any hosting site that does offer class c ips that prevents that?
Or is the best bet using privacy on all domains and then using multiple hosting companies, checking the ips they offer as you go? If that is the case, are there any recommendations for the best host companies that offer the least fingerprinting?

Wow Ryan. I was just lurking here and what you just explained is awesome!
We are all looking for those C block IP addresses, but Google wasn't born yesterday. Funny, up until I read this I had no idea that this was even a possibility.
Thanks so much. Now back to do some SEO sleuthing!
Cheers!

This is purely a black hat question. There is no need to manipulate IP addresses at this level unless you are attempting to set up a link network of websites. Even if you set up the perfect network with uniquely purchased domain names and unique IPs, Google has dozen of other means to catch the site as a network of related sites.
I have had multiple people approach with the question "how did I got caught" after they set up what was thought to be a Google-proof link network. Here are just a few other points to consider when setting up your network:
-
how are your backlinks acquired? If you have a group of 100 sites, and all sites are listed in Directory X, that would be a possible indicator the sites could be related. When you look at the same 100 sites and you find they have dozens of the same backlinks in place, the likelihood of a relation between the sites climbs quite high.
-
how is the coding of the site? Do the sites use a similar template? Are they all using the same exact software versions or the same snippets of code?
-
What other commonalities are there between the sites? Their domain purchase date? Launch date? Dates they began linking out to a particular site? etc.
I hear people often say "hey, Google can't catch us by saying with use Joomla because there are millions of sites which use Joomla". That is true but how many use Joomla 1.7.2? There are a lot, but the number dwindles to a smaller figure. How many of those Joomla 1.7.2 sites also use the same combination of plugins with the same version of that software? The number becomes quite small.
My goal isn't to educate anyone on how to perform black hat SEO. My goal is to share even if you implement what you feel to be a perfect network, there is likely many holes whereby Google can relate your websites. Google is very patient and if it takes them 5 months to establish the relationship that is no problem for them. Once it is established you are out a lot of time, money and effort. It's something to consider.
If you still wish to acquire hosting with various C block IP addresses, there are sites such as www.colocationamerica.com/services/seo-hosting.htm and seohosting.com which offer those services. The thing is, Google is a pretty smart company. They know companies offer those services, they know the primary purpose of such hosting is to manipulate rankings, so it also makes the sites hosted by those companies an easy target.

What is the best practice for redirecting a lower authority TLD to a high authority TLD?
Hi there moz community! My organization is blessed with an extremely high authority TLD (91). Powers-that-be want to start using a lesser authority (though still a respectable 62) TLD in marketing materials because they think it's more memorable/less confusing for users. We currently have a 302 redirect in place from score-62 to score-91, and our situation relative to the engines is strong. However, if they ramp-up a branding campaign using the 62-score TLD, should we change the 302 to a 301? I don't want to risk infecting that 91 score with any juice relative to the score-62 TLD. There isn't a lot written for the best practice in redirecting a lower-authority TLD to a high authority TLD - almost all the literature is about preserving your score/juice when redirecting an old TLD to a new TLD. Thanks for anyone/everyone's help! Brian Alpert; Smithsonian Institution

Switching host
Hi guys, some questions about host switching. Actually my blog is hosted on siteground growbig Plan. I was thinking about upgrading to gogeek Plan (their PRO shared hosting). Do you think that better technologies and server speed response can improve My ranking? Another question: if I switch server they will change ip. Does it affect My SEO negatively? And after the switch and ip changing Is too much if I re-change ip buying a dedicated ip? Will I risk to hurt My Raking? Sorry For my foreign english 🙂 Thanks so much!

When rankings dip what's the best diagnostic procedure?
Bonjourno from 10 degrees C lighly raining Wetherby UK 🙂 Every so often SEO feels like a game of snakes & ladders. One minute your rankings go up and then then within the click of a mouse they drop back down. Like a Greek play you begin to feel our mortal lives as SEO pundits is controlled by the Google Gods. A case in point is illustrated here in this graph:

http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/lincoln-drop_zpseeb04690.jpg Now if i want to explain why the rapid dip has occured for target term "Lincoln Solicitors" here's is what i'd do: 1. Go to webmaster tools and check for crawl errors 2. See if a Google algo change has changed the rules of engagment 3. Check another site administrator hasnt tinkered with the original layout But i wonder what process do other SEO practitioners follow to explain to a disgruntled client - "Why have my rankings that i pay you to look after nose dived?" Any insights welcome:-)0 -
Cloud Hostings & SEO Effects
Is there any negative to cloud hosting? I believe they share the same IP addresses but is it true you can still get banned if someone else on a shared IP or server does some spam?

What are your best tips for SEO on a shopping cart?
So, I am working on a shopping cart platform (X-Cart) and so far don't like it. Also, the web designer is not someone I've worked with before and he is understandably conservative about access--which limits what I can and cannot do from the back end. One of the things I like to do is include text for the search engines. However, based on conversion, etc., I think the product images on a landing page (main brand info with specific products that show up) should show up first to move toward conversion first. I am thinking of adding the text below the product images on the brand pages so the viewer sees the products first while still keeping the content seo. My practice is to use between 300-350 words minimum on a page. Just wondering what best practices you have for a shopping cart. Care to share? Any tips or hints? Thoughts on what I might do that would be most effective? As always, thanks in advance for your sage advice!
