Sorry! I am not understanding how a Re Tweet helps with any lift in rankings.

Does anyone have an infographic to explain how social media increases any lift in the SERP's. I just am not grasping how if I re tweet a link that the search enegines see this and say "this must be important" let rank it higher..

This article will likely help you:
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/google-bing-confirm-twitter-facebook-influence-seo
A single retweet is not likely to make a big difference. However, if someone influential retweeted you (i.e. like Rand) then this is a signal to the search engines that your post is significant. The article describes how the tweets from someone of authority are important. Similarly, if your article gets tweeted for facebook-shared in multiple circles around the world this is a sign to the search engines that it is an interesting article and worth looking at.
Tweets and shares are not the new links, IMHO, but if you write something that's good enough to get valid, genuine attention from others then Tweeting and Sharing are indicators to the search engines that your article is a good one. So really, it comes down to producing great stuff.

Hey there. I think that the main benefit from Twitter, or one of them, is if when you post a link to your own site, like your blog, for a start you use a shortner like Bitly. If the link becomes very popular and is retweeted by many, it gets listed on various sites which list 'hot stories'. This gives you quality followed backlinks on high page rank sites. Also, the use of bitly to shorten the link allows a super popular link to be stored and give you a really powerful back link from the Bitly site.
Also the retweets within themselves are classed as social signals and are taken into account by search engines, but it is a viral and very popular tweet sent promoting a a url on your own website that gives the most benefit.
Right now our strongest back link is from a blog post that was retweeted over 500 times. The main backlink just shows as a bitly link, with the domain stats of the bitly website.
Hope that helps.

Do we expect Google+ to continue being an important ranking signal after its recent changes?
I've noticed that Google Plus seems to have a larger influence on ranking than other social networks, especially for one of our competitors. We haven't started using Google Plus, and I'm wondering if, from an SEO standpoint, it's worth putting energy into after last month's changes. TL;DR: After last month's changes, is Google Plus still an important ranking signal?

Is it possible for a twitter user to automate a response to a tweet that I marked as a favorite?
If favorited a tweet of someone I don't know very well and received a response within a few minutes of the tweet asking "where have you been and what are you up to". Seems general enough to be automated and not specific enough for me to think it was personally sent by the user. Thank you.

Is constant contact a good source for seo links? how about best of the web? Is tweet angels a smart move? anybody got a good list of strong DA and PA link companies you can do business with and also get strong follow links from? thanks...
Thanks for all you guys do I am writing because I am trying to build a company's SEO link profile with links that have super high, and super stable Domain and Page Authorities (as well as solid Trust and Citation flows). I do this organically and even build my own sites using moz strategies - BUT, I am in need of your best advice: What are some links you can "buy" (as a result of using services from) that are strong and dofollow? Is Constant Contact good? Is Best of the Web good? tweetangels smart? I have seen several businesses with constant contact links (very high domain authority) on their profiles and as the head of business development for a mid-sized marketing firm, I want to see if constant contact, botweb, etc. are smart sources to put my clients on for the sake of the seo profile links - I am looking for strong, long-term perma-bumps for my companies and don't want to miss out on low-hanging fruit (that won't poison me in the end). Can you speak to that please? Do you guys have a list of directory links or 'whatever' links that are "get-able" by a regular guy like me that are not simply 2.0 nofollow? Thank you Ben

Google Play rankings?
Hi everyone, I've spent the last hour or two googling information on Google Play app rankings, and a few websites mention that standard pagerank of the app page is taken into account when calculating rankings. This seems to make sense, though I'd estimate it's probably not a large factor, with daily downloads being a much higher factor IMO. So my question is, how much of a factor does standard link-building for a Google Play app webpage have in the rankings?. We're trying to increase exposure of an app we've built (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.onedirection), and though we seem to have more downloads, reviews and +1's than others, we seem to be ranking beneath them. Thanks, Chris.

Backup tweets and re-post on own URL
Is there any benefit of backing up tweets (with something like tweet backup) and publishings the back ups on your own site from your own database?

Tweet or ReTweet?
So which is better for SEO, Tweets or ReTweets? We have a tweet button on our blog which seems to work pretty good. But I have noticed a few sites that instead of tweeting, they have a ReTweet button where you are actually ReTweeting an original tweet. Any thoughts?

Tweet Archive
I'm planning to create a Tweet Archive on my WordPress install. Ideally each tweet would be a separate entry in the database. That would mean that each one could essentially have it's own page. I think that if each had it's own page though, it would just create a very deep site with super shallow almost non-existant content. I am pretty sure I know the answer to this, I'm just looking for some substantiation... Should I just keep it as a list and not have each tweet exist as a separate page?
