Complex navigation structure leaving me puzzled with Meta keywords! Would love some help...
-
Hi there
So I have a main navigation,
It includes 5 categories
Each category contains 4-6 sub categories
Within these sub categories, there are 6 - 10 sub sub categories
Its a rather complex navigation but allows the end user to land exactly where they want without much mooching.
Now my issue is the use of keywords. Should I be feeding the keywords used in the main category through to the sub category and the sub sub category as they are all linked or should I use unique keywords for each sub/sub/sub category?
I have added an image of the nav layout so you can see how it works.
I hope that makes sense?
Could love some help!

I concur with Ressler. You are better off thinking of the end user than SEO on the finer points of navigation, IMO. You certainly don't need to repeat the category keyword as you drill down.
Widgets/red-widgets/cool-red-widgets/<< might be too many widgets.
Just as "beste SEO practice" suggests we only use the keyword phrase 1-2 times in a title tag, I would probably not overuse it in a path.
Widgets/red/cool-red-widgets/ might be less 'keyword stuffed."

Incorporate some of the same words, but you will want to focus on a more direct point as you go through the subs.
Widgets/red-widgets/cool-red-widgets/
This will aid in both SEO and user experience.

For example:
In this case the main category is Equestrian clothing and the keywords I am using are-
equestrian wear sale, horse riding body protectors, horse riding hats, ladies jodhpurs, ladies breeches, mens breeches, horse riding clothing, horse riding apparel, kids horse riding clothes, just togs
At present I am using the following keywords in the sub category rider clothing-
rider clothing sale, ladies Jodphurs, ladies breeches, horse riding jackets, horse riding polo top, horse riding gloves, horse riding clothing, just togs, woof wear, tagg equestrian
Is this right? Should the sub category actually continue using words from the main category?
Does that clarify it a bit more?

I'm sorry, but your question is not clear to me even when I look at the graphic. Could you offer an example using one set of keywords to clarify, please?

I do not want all my META descriptions to be unique.
Hi, I have maybe 20 categories (new) that I really like to have the same Meta description for all of them. The category names call out the use of their respective products. but, all of these categories are related to a much bigger global initiative. I don't have enough space in the title to discuss the individual terms as well as the broader project, so I would like the META to say something like "Products related to <this thing="" my="" customers="" care="" about="">from</this> However, I am extremely paranoid about adding 20-25 meta descriptions that are identical, because Google. Am I overthinking this and being paranoid about Panguin and Penda?

Creating the META title tag?
I am having a hard time figuring out what the best META title tag is for my site. I have a deal blog that focuses on Amazon deals but I also write articles, top ten lists, etc. It is baby and mom related. Is there a tutorial for this? Should I just experiment and watch my organic search results? TIA!

Strategy for dealing with keyword variants
I'd like your opinion on the strategy of dealing with key phrase variants: I've got a page that is ranking in the top 10 and top 3 for about 10 different variations of the same phrase. Seomoz gives it terrible grades for all but one of the keyphrases. Which course of action do you recommend : ----------- create new pages ------------ Create new pages for each variant and get them to grade A. If I go this route what sort of cross linking scheme should I use between this pages? ---------- improve existing page ----------- Try to make my single page rank better for all the phrases by doing extra on-page work so the page has a better grade for all of the variants? Many thanks for your ideas and opinions.
