Severe ranking loss in a week
-
Hi all, I rank for around 40 keyword in the first and second pages in google.com.qa, this week im not even in the first 5 for all keywords on that search engine only. Adding to that also any keyword contains qatar on this campaign or my other website also lost position not less than 20! Normally i lose and gain 1 to 3 postions a week but this week it was scary. I thought i was pinalized but when i search for my website or site:my adress i find loads if pages. Any help ? Thanks for your time reading and answering

Ali,
I did take some time and look over site. How long has it been up in its current form? The reason I ask is it appears you have done the canonical redirect so that www. and non www of site resolve but it is not showing yet in OSE.
When you look at the www. of same OSE shows different result but no Site:www pages show. This would lead me to believe you changed it in the last 6 to 7 weeks. Also, on your linking, the root domains of your links are all just link directories and you need some "quality" other links. Try Active Rain (a real estate blog site) etc.
If you can give us a couple of key words that fell off it would help.
Now, most of your links go to your home page. In the content of your home page you do not have any internal links going out. Pick two or three pages on your site where you really want to share some juice, and do a link in the first paragraph of the content. Do not do two links to same page as it is not advantageous. If there is only one page you want do one, but probably not more than 3.
Also, you need some serious on site on page SEO for this. Your title tags, etc are all off, you are not optimizing key words, etc. Your title tag when doing a search for Qatar (http://qatar.smart-realestate.com/property-gallery) is Luxurious.......for rent or sale in Bahrain. So there are issues.
Your urls have upper and lower case letters which you need to change. Urls should be all lower case.
So, there you have it. This does not tell you why you were up and then fell, but my guess is the site was newer, got a kick up, and now is moving to its real world rank.
Hope this helps you out.

@Robert and Rasmus
Thanks for the prompt reply. The website url is qatar.smart-realestate.com, we have done some keyword optimization on every property we upload and we have been submitting articles and press releases as well. Majority of the work done is through link building and directory submissions. We haven't done any major changes in the website.
I have done some readings as well and I found out that maybe it has something to do with Google launching a change in its algorithm. Can you tell me what you think?

As Robert says, you are lacking a bit of information in order for anyone to give a good answer to your question. However, I will try and give som pointers in how you perhaps can find the problem your self:
If you have Webmaster Tools account at Google i would recommend you visit it to see if Google has sent you any warnings. If not try to look at the development in the statistics. Perhaps Google has been finding a lot of error pages or duplicate content?
It is my experience that a lot of problems can be identified in Google Webmaster Tools - and more than often they are due to changes made to the web site.
Best Regards,
Rasmus

Ali, there is just not enough information to assist you. You need to provide either a url or some more descriptive data. There are just too many things that could cause a change. The first is did you change anything on the site? Is it highly competitive and have a bunch of new players come in, etc.
I have only see this happen when a change is made to a site. With penalties, there is simply no telling without more help from you.

How can I discover the Google ranking number for a keyword in Brazil?
Hello, how can I discover the Google ranking number for a keyword in Brazil location. I need to know what is the position in Brazil location for the keyword "ligação internacional" in the Google search engine for the webpage www.solaristelecom.com/ligacao-internacional. I tried to use the Moz tools to discover it but only shows that I am not in the top 50, then I want to know where I am, and if I am listed or not. I tried to search it in my browser and didn't show the name of my website. Thank you.

Home Page not ranking?
Hey guys, I'm working on a relatively new client and have noticed that all the initial rankings that we have point towards a sub page rather than the home page. Only a branded search appears to bring up the home page which seems really strange. Any ideas? Home page; www.geraldmiller.com Sub page (ranking); www.geraldmiller.com/dwi-dui-defense

How much link juice does a sites homepage pass to inner pages and influence inner page rankings?
Hi, I have a question regarding the power of internal links and how much link juice they pass, and how they influence search engine ranking positions. If we take the example of an ecommerce store that sells kites. Scenario 1 It can be assumed that it is easier for the kite ecommerce store to earn links to its homepage from writing great content on its blog, as any blogger that will link to the content will likely use the site name, and homepage as anchor text. So if we follow this through, then it can be assumed that there will eventually be a large number of high quality backlinks pointing to the sites homepage from various high authority blogs that love the content being posted on the sites blog. The question is how much link juice does this homepage pass to the category pages, and from the category pages then to the product pages, and what influence does this have on rankings? I ask because I have seen strong ecommerce sites with very strong DA or domain PR but with no backlinks to the product page/category page that are being ranked in the top 10 of search results often, for the respective category and product pages. It therefore leads me to assume that internal links must have a strong determiner on search rankings... Could it therefore also be assumed that a site with a PR of 5 and no links to a specific product page, would rank higher than a site with a PR of 1 but with 100 links pointing to the specific product page? Assuming they were both trying to rank for the same product keyword, and all other factors were equal. Ie. neither of them built spammy links or over optimised anchor text? Scenario 2 Does internal linking work both ways? Whereas in my above example I spoke about the homepage carrying link juice downward to the inner category and product pages. Can a powerful inner page carry link juice upward to category pages and then the homepage. For example, say the blogger who liked the kite stores blog content piece linked directly to the blog content piece from his site and the kite store blog content piece was hosted on www.xxxxxxx.com/blog/blogcontentpiece As authority links are being built to this blog content piece page from other bloggers linking to it, will it then pass link juice up to the main blog category page, and then the kite sites main homepage? And if there is a link with relevant anchor text as part of the blog content piece will this cause the link juice flowing upwards to be stronger? I know the above is quite winded, but I couldn't find anywhere that explains the power of internal linking on SERP's... Look forward to your replies on this....

Website dropping from Page 1 pos 5 to no ranking and then back again?
Hi all, We have a very odd occurrence with a client of ours. It should be noted that they had a penalty recently removed about 2 months ago after much work from our company. Recently they started appearing back on Page 1 Google for a semi competitive keyword term. We were very happy with this and so was the client. The the ranking improved with our work to position 5, which was excellent. Unfortunately what has been happening is they have been dropping out of the rankings completely for this semi competitive keyword for a few days and then reappearing in the same position. The client is checking daily and has noticed. I thought this is just a 'hangover' from the Google penalty and perhaps a one off occurrence, but it has happened about 3 or 4 times now and seems to be happening every couple of weeks. Can anyone shed some light on this behavior? I have checked Webmasters Tools and everything is fine. Thanks Jon

How on earth is a site with ONE LINK ranking so well for a competitive keyword?
Ok, so I'm sure you get the gist of what I'm asking about in my question. The query is 'diy kitchens' in Google UK and the website is kitchens4diy[dot]com - which is ranking in third from my viewing. The thing is, the site has just ONE BACKLINK and has done for a good while. Yet, it's ranking really well. What gives?

Has anyone notice their website page rankings in Bing and Yahoo slipping lately?
My websites for the most part rank higher in Yahoo and Bing than in Google. Now, ranking within those search engines (Yahoo/Bing) are settling in to where my websites rank in Google. Any thoughts? Anyone else experiencing this? Thank you for your time!
