Case Sensitive and Abreviated Key Words

For the On-Site Optimization Grade
I get different results for keywords
For example
Street and St and street and st
All grade differently
How should one optimize their site for common interchangeable words?
-
Hi Sharon,
The On-page reports shouldn't distinguish between case - upper or lower. In both cases it should give you credit. Unfortunately, I am unable to replicate the error you described. If you are seeing results different from this, feel free to share the URL and keyword combo so we can test it, or if you feel the tool is in error, feel free to write the help team (help@seomoz.org)
As for variations of keywords, Adam hit the nail on the head. Here's a couple of blog posts that might help:

Hope this helps. Best of luck with your SEO!

Hi Adam,
Differences I am noticing are with the seomoz tool.
One example is the grade for the URL
The tool does not recognize credit for having street (lower case) in the URL if the keyword is Street
-
A few rules of thumb I use to target multiple variations of the same word:
- If possible, optimize your page for each variation
- That would include having each variation in the page title
- At the very least, include each variation in the page content
- Prioritize which variation is most important, and place it closer to the start of your page title
- Use each variation, and variations of the variations, as anchor text when link building
By the way, I would be interested in hearing about the differences you are noticing based on case sensitivity.

How Do I Rank For This Type of Key Word?
Hello, We're a physical therapy practice and rank high for our physical therapy clinic and those type of keywords; however, how do I rank for keywords such as: back pain treatment? herniated disc treatment? We have pages specific to these keywords but aren't ranking. Thoughts?

Do You Add City Name & Key Word For Every Page?
Hello, I'm new to SEO but feel I have a decent grasp on it. However, I had a question pertaining to key words and using my city name in it. For instance, if I am using the key word "herniated disc treatment" do I need to put in my city name behind it or does google recognize that I am already in my city area because of my geo tagging and having it listed on the footer of my site? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Scott

Strange Key Word Results on Google
I'm trying to rank for the keywords "Chicago General Contractor" My landing page is https://3fconstruction.net/chicago-general-contractor/ However, in Google a variant page on my site (How to apply for a General Contractor's license - https://3fconstruction.net/how-to-apply-general-contractors-license-chicago/) that is optimized for "General Contractor License Chicago" is coming up first and the target page does not even seem to appear. I've forced a google crawl of my site and the page still does not appear. I've used the moz on-page grader and results of the target page are good. I'm perplexed and wonder if google is preventing the target page from appearing. Any thought on how to fix this?

Making Shopify URL's Simpler - Losing the words 'collection', 'product' and 'page' in a Shopify store URL. Any advice?
Hi Mozers! I have a Shopify store (of which there are many advantages) however one big SEO disadvantage, is that my URL structures contravene all Moz advice on dynamic URL structure and whats more I am reminded about this every week when I have a Moz site crawl and I have a batch of URL's that are longe than the 75 characters. A Shopify URL will run www.domain name.com/collections/collection-name/product/product-name. According to advice a it should be www.domain name.com/collection-name/product-name - Don't even get started on sub-collections! I sell portfolio books, album etc and keepsake memory boxes (so long keywords) AND, I have a long(ish) business name. So, For user experience and keyword length, do I just ignore trying to achieve a dynamic URL under 75 characters? When I have asked Shopify, the say their URL's are an integral part of the "Ruby on Rails" system, so nothing can be done Or can it ??? I can't be the only Moz member with this issue can I ??

Number of internal links and passing 'link juice' down to key pages.
Howdy Moz friends. I've just been checking out this post on Moz from 2011 and wanted to know how relevant it is today? I'm particularly interested in a number of links we have on our HP potentially harming important landing page rankings because not enough 'link juice is getting to them i.e) are they are being diluted by all the many other links on the page? (deeper pages, faqs, etc etc) It seems strange to me that as Google as has got more sophisticated this would still be that relevant (thus the reason for posting). Anyway, I thought I was definitely worth asking. If we can leverage more out of our on-page efforts then great 🙂

Increase of Key Word density when adding related products
Dear SEOMoz Community, By means of this message I hope you can clear something up for me. Let's say you have optimized the content of a specific page (You are an E-Commerce company) on +-2 key words. And on that page you add eight related/similar products. How do you coop with the increase of the key word density? Thanks in advance, Martin

Get the startpage rank high for one word
Hi, This has maybe been asked many times. I wonder for example how our website www.hardtours.se can receive higher ranking for the word "hardstyle". Our competitor has "hardstyle" in the webadress and it feels useless to compete with them since it feels that having the name in the www adress is to hard to compete with. Or am i wrong?

On page report card instances of key terms in the body - I can't find them all
Hi guys, I'm using the on-page report card for a particular page which is returning 22 instances of my term, however when I check the source of the page, I can only find 6 instances across the whole page, let alone the body. The site is www.sportsbet.com.au, and the term "horse racing". I'm sure I'm missing something, would appreciate any explanation for this apparent discrepancy. Cheers, Jez
