Using Google Analytics for tracking statistics of the HOMEpage
-
Hello,
Lets say I have a website with the HOMEpage being http://www.page.com. There are various subpages e.g. http://www.page.com/page1, http://www.page.com/page2, http://www.page.com/page3 .
Now when I use Google Analytics it gives me all kind of statistics for the subpages shown as /page1 /page2 /page3 ... (relative path). According to this pattern the HOMEpage should be just "/". Unfortunately I can't find "/" in any statistics.
Is this normal?
Thanks in advance

Thank you for your answer. Just wanted to make sure, that this is not a Analytics "feature" and the homepage is normally shown in GA
There is definitely traffic on the homepage and there is no problem with the GA code. I do however get a few weird URLs with lot's of traffic (the website is very complex). Will try to check where they come from.

You're right, the home page would be / in that case. See that a lot on WordPress-based sites and such.
I can't diagnose absolutely without direct access, but I'd say check for URL malformation based on entry. / may not really exist for functional purposes. Or, you just aren't getting any home-page traffic.
Also, make sure your GA code is actually on your home page and properly firing.

Google Analytics - Adding a sub-domain
Hi I have a google analytics query.
Reporting & Analytics | | Niki_1
I have a main site with a google analytics tag and I have 2 forms that sit on a subdomain with a different GA code. As I would like to measure end to end tracking, I would like the same GA code on the subdomain. What is the best way for me to implement this? Would I need to make some changes to the GA code that sits on the main site or can I add the the GA code from the main site onto the subdomain? Thanks0 -

Google Analytics - multiple counters
Hey there Mozzers! One of our customers wants to seperate one Google Analytics account into multiple accounts. The website is divided in three parts: Main: www.website.nl Sub1: www.website.nl/sub1 Sub2: http://www.website.nl/sub2 And they would like 4 different reports under one account. R1: Total count R2: Website.nl (without Sub 1 & Sub2) R3: Sub1 R4: Sub2 I know multiple counters will get in conflict with each other, so I have to implement some filters. E.g: We can configure a filter for R3 on "astmakids" in URL. My question is: is there a safe way to implement multiple Analytics filters on one website? And how will R3 see visitors that come from the root domain astmafonds.nl? Are they referrals? Thanks a lot in advance!! Partouter
