When is the last time Google crawled my site
-
How do I tell the last time Google crawled my site. I found out it is not the "Cache" which I had thought it was.

Hi Adam,
I would recommend adding your site to Google Webmaster Tools, this will give you under Diagnostics data about the Crawl statistics from Google. This will tell you:
- The number of pages crawled per day.
- Kilobytes downloaded per day.
- Time spent downloading a page (in milliseconds)
Which in the end will look like this provided with graphs.

Hi Adam,
As far as I know it is from the "Cache" only, you find out the last time google had crawled your site.
You can use the link Determing the last time google visited your site, to check how to find the last time google had crawled your site.
You can also try searching in google "cache:http://insertURLhere.com" and it directly gives you the time it had had saved.
Even tough if google had crawled your site and if there are no changes in your website it does not update its cached copy, it just keeps the old one only.
So, it is recommended to update the contents of your site more often.

Google Indexing of Site Map
We recently launched a new site - on June 4th we submitted our site map to google and almost instantly had all 25,000 URL's crawled (yay!). On June 18th, we made some updates to the title & description tags for the majority of pages on our site and added new content to our home page so we submitted a new sitemap. So far the results have been underwhelming and google has indexed a very low number of the updated pages. As a result, only a handful of the new titles and descriptions are showing up on the SERP pages. Any ideas as to why this might be? What are the tricks to having google re-index all of the URLs in a sitemap?

Small business sites banned by google. Please help.
Hi. My 2 sites http://www.painterdublin.com and http://www.tilers-dublin.com were banned by google update in November 2012. Both were ranking fairly well in search results: painterdublin generating cca 600/month and tilers-dublin cca 300/month organic traffic from google. After update it is about 70% less. Is there anyone willing to take a look at my pages and give me some advice about what to do to improve the situation? thank you very much

What changes do i need to make to my site to get into google news
Hi, when we had the old design, we were in google news but then when we upgraded our site, we had a major problem which forced us to have to redesign our site. Since then we have not been included in google news and we would like to get back in. We only want to be in google news for the following page http://www.in2town.co.uk/Latest-News-Headlines But for some reason, no matter what we do we keep getting knocked back. I would love to know what we should be doing to get into google news and see what the problems are. We have moved to a bigger dedicated server to increase speed so i know it is not that. Any help would be great Also is there an alternative to google news that i can get our site into to generate traffic and to get our news stories straight out to people Hi, Thank you for your note. Why are old versions of images still showing for my site in Google Image Search?
I have a number of images on my website with a watermark. We changed the watermark (on all of our images) in May, but when I search for my site getmecooking in Google Image Search, it still shows the old watermark (the old one is grey, the new one is orange). Is Google not updating the images its search results because they are cached in Google? Or because it is ignoring my images, having downloaded them once? Should we be giving our images a version number (at the end of the file name)? Our website cache is set to 7 days, so that's not the issue. Thanks.
