2 SEO questions
-
Hello everyone I have two questions for all you fine seo people this morning...
1 - Is there a website that I could go to to make sure that I do not have duplicate content floating around on the web that I am not aware of? Sometimes people take information from my site and post it as their own and I want to make sure that google does not ping me for it.
2 - Does anyone know how I can report a spam site to google? I have filled out the reports many times over the past year and posted it in the webmaster discussion forum and it is still up there I sent one email to bing and the next day they contacted me with a thank you email and indicated that I was 100% correct and they removed the site from their index.
Thank you all!!!!

Thank you both for your help!!!

A great link building method is to find people who stole your content and contact them and let them know they can keep it up if they give you a link
-
You might not need to worry about stolen content if 1) Your content was indexed by Google first and 2) Your content outranks the stolen content in search. Here's a video from Matt Cutts at Google that might be of interest to you: http://youtu.be/4LsB19wTt0Q
- Why not just do a Google search for your content? If it's in the Google index, it will show up in search. You can make it easier by doing a phrase search that will be unique to your piece of content.
If you're looking for something that will check your whole site or do it automatically, I'm not aware of a tool that does that. A lot of people use Copyscape (www.copyscape.com), but that might not solve your problems.
- You can file a complaint with Google here when you're logged into your Google account: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/dmca-notice?pli=1&

1-copyscape.com is great for duplicate content
2-lol-don't bother-Its not worth the trouble -but here is the link https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/spamreport?hl=en&pli=1

How Old or How Often does the "Beginners Guide to SEO" Get Updated
Good morning 🙂 Just wondering how often does the intro/beginners guide get updated? I often refer back to this guide for some "back to basics" Regards George

Rel Canonical Question
Hi all. I think I'm a bit confused. When I check my crawl diagnostics its listing lots of warnings under the heading rel-canonical. I am not sure why, since virtually all my pages have the link rel="<a class="attribute-value">canonical</a>" tag. I use it because there are a lot of possible extensions that can appear on the pages as it is an eCommerce site. Why would seomoz list this as a warning? Thanks Ken

Two Questions
1) The PA in the SEOmoz toolbar for ldnwicklesscandles.com/scentsy-uk/ is completely different to http://www.ldnwicklesscandles.com/scentsy-uk. I think in link building I've occasionally left the / off and vice versa. Is google seeing these as two different sites and how can I combine the two so the PA is no longer different? I initially tried a 301 redirect from the less PA to the higher one but it didn't work. Suggestions please. I'm trying to rank for the term Scentsy UK. Was told on here that it was unnecessary to get a .co.uk and that if I just link build for my scentsy-uk site which I have been doing. Woke up this morning and my page ldnwicklesscandles.com/scentsy-uk was no where to be seen on Google. I can still do site: and Link: for my main .com and I'm still ranking first page for other things so don't think I've been penalised at all. However when I try the site: and link: on the .com/scentsy-uk its no where to be found. There was no messages in Google webmaster tools either. Is this an algorithm thing or have I been penalised? Also....its now pulling up <cite>www.ldnwicklesscandles.com/blog/tag/scentsy-uk</cite> for the higher ranking results. Have I confused google with having this blog tag as well? Any suggestions to help would be appreciated. Losing a lot of sleep on this website at the moment. x

Schedule crawls for 2 subdomains every 24 hours
I saw at this link: http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test "As a PRO member, you can schedule crawls for 2 subdomains every 24 hours, and you'll get up to 3,000 pages crawled per subdomain." However I am having trouble finding where to schedule this 24 hour crawl in my Pro Dashboard. I did not see the option for this setting in the crawl diagnostics tab or in the campaign settings section from the dashboard home page. Can you help? thanks! Michael

Can you release some sample documents for the budding SEO practitionar?
Hey guys, Would it be possible for you to release some sample documents, e.g. an 'initial proposal' example that can help us newbies when aiming to obtain prospective clients. I must admit I am much much more technical minded than articulate when it comes to these matters so a sample report would benefit me dearly that I could use as a starting point. My SEO services so far have been well.. totally free so far whilst I learn more about the techniques involved and determine whether it really is work I'd like to carry out in addition to my day to day development/design tasks. Now I am faced with a potential new client and after spending a fair number of hours Googling, I'm still not 100% sure how to structure the document and whether an initial audit should be carried out first to give me some statistics for the report.. Or whether the report should simply outline what I can offer. The samples I've found online, most of which are quite old, mostly tend to come from established SEO companies and have a corporate feel about them which doesn't reflect on myself as a single consultant. So if you could help out that would be fantastic and I'm sure would be a popular resource for others just starting out in the field. Thank you Dave

Where can I view all of the Questions that I have Answered?
AFAICT there's no way to filter questions to the ones that you have answered. Is there any plan to implement a filter like this? I realise there are email notifications available but no easy way to just go back and check on your answers. No doubt I'm just missing something here so if I'm completely wrong, please point me in the right direction 🙂 Thanks very much!
