Yahoo Directory! Is it worth Paying $299 for?

Yahoo Directory! Is it worth Paying $299 for? Is this going to help you be better indexed. Will it help your site over all beside having one link?
-
How can you be creative? Where do you go to try to find good links worth $300 worth. Any suggestions?
-
If you have $299 in your budget for a good link, then sure. It's not the worst way to spend $299 as far as SEO is concerned.
If you're pretty creative and on a shoestring, you can probably do something really awesome with $299, and then create original content out of it, and you'll have a better chance of getting a variety of links from different domains that don't cost you an extra dime and last for a longer time. But that's certainly more work.

Directories and Search Engine Site Submissions and Technorati Tags Important?
I use a wordpress for out website 50campfires.com and we have a site map set up along with google analytics and web master tools. I believe wordpress automatically sends information to the search engines with changes in the site map. Do I need to submit to search engines manually once a month? Is directories like DMOZ still relevant with SEO today? And what are your opinions on Technorati Tags? I never heard of them before reading this article. I m new to SEO and any insights are helpful. 2Sqv5C2.png EEQFpIx.png 2Sqv5C2.png

Client is not ranking on Google For Brand Name Search but is on Yahoo and Bing
We have a mobile app development client that recently 6 months ago changed their domain name to www.FSStudio.com. So they are concerned that they don’t rank on the first page for the brandname phrase “FS Studio” On Google. They do rank on the first page for this phrase in Yahoo or Bing. But why is Google returning search results for stuff like Free Studio? I know this fairly obvious question which the answers may be that they need more authority or backlinks because their name happens to be a fairly competitive search for stuff that is unrelated. Any suggestions? We are going to be optimizing and creating a lot more content. Is this just that they need to mention their name FS Studio more frequently throughout their website? Why am I ranking on both Bing and Yahoo and yet the rankings are declining on Google
I'm seeing ranking go up on both Bing and Yahoo and yet they are going down on Google. I did see a bunch of spammy links show up about a month ago but have managed to get all those taken down although did not get any warnings from Google in Webmaster tools about them was more of a preemptive measure. The site in question. http://www.gocitrusnow.com

Paying someone for SEO help?
Moz has been very helpful but since my site was hit by Google Panda and I am getting very little organic traffic, I am thinking about having someone who really knows SEO take a look and give me some help. However, I have no idea how to find someone reputable. Any advice for hiring someone for SEO help (on a budget?)

I noticed that my company owns a few exact match domains that are relevant to our business. Is it worth doing anything other than just redirecting them to our homepage?
It turns out we own a few exact match domains that are relevant to our business. Is it worth doing anything other than just redirecting? (We have owned these sites for a long time, over 15 years.) The keywords are moderate to low in traffic and moderate to high in competitiveness. (Right now they 301 to our main site.) I know exact match is not as valuable as it used to be and that there are mixed opinions about microsites...

Categories and URL Structure - When to add a new directory?
I've been wondering this for quite awhile so I figured I should just ask. Suppose my website has 5 categories and the url structure looks like: www.mysite.com/category1/ www.mysite.com/category2/ do I also want to create a landing page for the above categories at the same URL depth as the homepage of the site? www.mysite.com/category1.html OR what about: www.mysite.com/category1/index.html Which is a better way to do this? Also, if your site began as fairly small and your 5 categories were your only other pages other than index, about, and contact pages (meaning you really had no reason to create separate directories), then as time passes, you decide to add 3 subcategory pages that would fit into a page: www.mysite.com/category1.html would you add a folder with he same name as the html page, and then rename the html file as index.html and place it into the new folder?

Directory Structure
Hi, We are creating a new content directory for online courses hosted on our site. Like a typical directory, we have high level categories and then more granular subcategories. A course will typically only be in one high level category and then multiple subcategories. What would be the best URL structure for an individual course? Should we force users to pick one 'master' subcategory that gets included in their URL? Or should we just not include the subcategory at all in the URL? Right now we've been thinking about: OurUrl.com/upper-category/sub-category/course-title or OurUrl.com/upper-category/course-title

Installing a site on top level domain directory VS deeper directory
How important it is for seo to install a site on a top level directory vs deeper directory? example: www.mysite.com VS www.mysite.com/catalog many eCommerce scripts such as oscommerce and cre loaded will install by default to /catalog and that's what I've been doing for most of my customer. does it mean it will be harder for them to get good seo results? Thanks in advance for the input...
