What is the correlation between Organic & PPC CTR?

I'm interested in finding research / studies on the correlation between organic and PPC CTR.
I've heard panelists at Search Engine Strategies conferences cite research stating that simultaneously ranking organically and serving PPC ads for the same KW increases the chance of getting click-throughs (versus being in organic OR PPC space only).
I think, but I'm not sure, that it might have been a comScore study but I haven't been able to find it on their site.
Is anyone familiar with this study (or a similar study)? If so, please point me in the right direction and include a link, if possible.

In my opinion, if there is a measurable result it's probably going to come from the human factor as opposed to the technical/algorithmic. By human factor I mean actual organic patterns of behavior linked to see a result in both the paid and organic positions. I believe that people will 'trust' these more if they appear in both places, as they seem to be signals that are reinforcing each other. The organic result implies that this site is relevant and worthwhile. The paid result implies (rightly or wrongly) that this site is established and willing and able to pay for their position in the marketplace. The combination of these two factors, plus just the extra eyeball real estate of appearing twice on the same page, likely means you'll get more traffic. Keep in mind that this is just an opinion, and I haven't reviewed the article Simon Cullum helpfully linkedabove.
The technical/algorithmic aspect I mention above is more ambiguous; essentially 'does Google give sites that pay for CPC greater consideration in organic rankings?'. As has been mentioned nobody knows, and if they did that is a giant lawsuit/loss of trust waiting to happen. Because of this actual measurable factors that would indicate Google is doing this are going to be very very thin on the ground.

There are a couple of links in the answers to a study and an article on this very topic, also worth a read.
Basically, there is no definitive yes or no answer to your question. It varies from industry/sector to industry/sector and from brand to non-brand. There are competition factors too as well as others.
Sometimes, there is an obvious positive correlation, I have personally seen it many times from using Hitwise to identify& analyze any effect of having both a natural and paid result both appearing highly.
Then again, many times, there appeared to be no difference in CTR whatsoever.
I'd suggest doing your own test (if budget allows) to see what works for your site and business.

Should I remove our videos from DotSub.com to try & boost our Wistia videos?
Okay all you video SEO lovers, I had a thought today that I thought would make an interesting question. I have been using the tools at DotSub.com to transcribe our videos. The tools are great, and even better, free. We have about 80 videos on DotSub and all of these videos are also on our YouTube channel. Once I've completed the transcription, I've been exporting the .srt file and uploading them to YouTube to replace the God-awful machine transcriptions (sorry Google, but they are baaaadddd). Anyway, sometimes our DotSub video will outrank the same YouTube video, sometimes not. The 80 videos on DotSub have amassed about 10,000 views and a couple of translations...which is nice, I guess? Recently, we've begun experimenting with Wistia. Here is a search term for which our YouTube and DotSub video results pretty much flood page 1: "studiolive webinar" All of the DotSub videos also exist as Wistia videos on our Website and blog. For obvious reasons, we would rather have our Wistia videos rank in those three positions which right now are dominated by the DotSub versions. Should I remove the content from DotSub in order to try to get the Wistia videos to rank instead? Or should I leave them all there? I should probably add that we do have Wistia videos that are outranking both Dotsub and Youtube versions of the exact same videos...so I know that's possible. I'm just wondering if by leaving all of these videos up at DotSub if we are cannibalizing our potential at ranking for videos that link back to our site? What do you think?

Naming a brand & domain
Hi Experts, We are selecting a brand name and domain for a new ecommerce website. The major keyword in this industry is lets assume xyz. It is by far the most searched keyword in this industry, but it just sounds horrible for branding purposes. For SEO purposes how important is it to keep that keyword in the domain / brand name? can we make up for the lack of that keyword in the domain / brand name if we decide to pick a brand name that does not have xyz in it? Googe+ personal profile & business page conundrum
I have asked this question before and am still seeking help. My apologies for being repetitive and hopefully not too pesky but I am sincere in my search for guidance. I am looking for advice on how to manage my personal G+ profile along with my business G+ page. My challenge is the coordination between the two and getting people to add our biz page to their Circles instead of to me personally through my personal profile. Google+ requires that we have personal profiles- especially for authorship, but it's my business that I want to represent and promote. I do have the Google+ badge on my website and blog posts. And I am duplicating my posts on both the personal and business pages. I have joined a couple of communities and know that i need to find more and engage in those. And also, another question this brings up: in terms of the social signal aspect for our company website/blog, does it matter where I am building my Circles?
