Google and low quality guest posts
-
In the aftermath of the Penguin and Panda monsters a lot of blog networks seem to have been devalued by Google. It seems logical that spammers will flock to low quality guest posting next. How do you think Google will determine which guest post links to devalue?
Thanks!

I say flocking to low-quality guest blogging is a bad solution to Penguin update. Penguin was not primarily about banning blog networks. It was about banning over-optimized links and link schemes. So Google will use the same tactics here: too much anchor text, too easy to identify!

I don't know how Google will do this - or if they will.... but if I was the boss at Google, each crappy post on the blog would increase the odor of the entire domain... and anchor text links would have their juice cut by 90%.

"The ones with crappy content that have keyword anchor text links pointing to other domains."
Would you say it's safe to assume that both of these would have to be implemented for it to be devalued? The anchor text AND the crap? I mean, keyword anchor text pointing to other domains is a good practice used by many valuable blogs--it helps your blog posts be more informative.

The ones with crappy content that have keyword anchor text links pointing to other domains.... and the domains that they point to have lots of other crappy content on lots of other crappy blogs that have keyword anchor text content.

I have been trying to get indexed my inner page's title tag but still I cannot see this. It has been almost a week. I have done "Fetch as Google" even though I cannot see this. What can be the reason?

Guest posting
HI, I wrote an article for photography life over 6 months ago and was surprised to discover it is placed second in the serps for the keywords "nikon cls" I have just written another 1500 word article for another photography blog and I am wondering if I will serve myself better just writing the content for my own site? Best wishes. David.

Sponsored post
If we are to get a quality blog to write a "sponsored blog post" for us and if they clearly state it is "sponsored" should the link back to our website be "no follow"? From an SEO stand point is it even worth getting the link if its "no follow"?

Best Blog Post Length to get Links
Okay, kind of silly question but i am looking for some help interpreting an analysis done by John Doherty almost a year ago: http://moz.com/blog/what-kind-of-content-gets-links-in-2012 In the document he mentions the correlation that longer posts on average receive more links but the graphs were really hard to interpret (for me). Based on the data what is the correct size we should shoot for (most graphs were missing labels). Any one have any insight? Should i shoot for 300 words per post, higher, etc? Thanks! Kyle

Lost inbound link from Huffington Post???
My website was featured on HuffPost's "7 Sites You Should Be Wasting Your Time On" in September of 2011 and somewhere along the way it no longer gets recognized as a linking domain? The site/page itself ('7 Sites' from Sept 2011) still exists through direct linking, and my site's link is still on there. I am looking at it right now (still knew the URL because I put it as a link in the 'About' section of my site). Any theories as to how/why this happened and if it is due to something on my end? Any way to get it back?

Ex-Googler: “To Please Google With Your SEO, Forget About SEO”
Lets discuss, Ex-Googler (Search Quality/Webspam team) talking about SEO. http://searchengineland.com/ex-googler-to-please-google-with-your-seo-forget-about-seo-136800 The bit that got me thinking was 'title tag over optimisation' so what we looking at, shorter title tags with a max of 2 keywords? And the PR quote, does relevance come above PR/DA/PA? Thoughts?
