Is it good practise to do a 301 redirect from domain.co.uk to www.domain.co.uk?

As the title says really, I'm sure the answer is Yes, but I cannot remember why probably one of the many things I read somewhere along the line and can't recall the reasoning can anyone enlighten me please?

Thanks Conell
I instantly recognised that page when I clicked on the link....I obviously read this before and it was lurking in the back of my empty brain somewhere
Thank You!

Hi Nicola,
Is good because google can index both example.com and www.example.com and you end up with duplicate content.

Http Redirects to Https - then to Redirect 301
Searched - not seeing this exact issue(sorry if I'm wrong). I'm my report I'm seeing that we have old URLs in the wild using http. Those requests come to our site, and then are redirected to the https version. However if this url does not exist, then there's another redirect 301 to the actual page. This obviously causes a redirect chain. I've searched but don't see a clear answer to this. How can I avoid the chain? How can I go from the http to the new https URL without first incurring the double redirect? "Look for any recurring chains that could be rewritten as a single rule. " FWIW I don't see any http to https rewritecond's in my htaccess, and cannot trace where that redirect is generated from.

Linking Root Domains www and non-www
I just ran our site through Open Site Explorer. If I run the non-www version I get 30 root domains, if I run www I get 177. Is it wise to try and contact those sites using the non-www version and ask them to update the links to www version? Will that make much of a difference?

3 Month Delay in Domain Rank?
Our domain rank was around 40, then we hired an SEO company and our Domain Rank went up to 80, now we see it back down to 40. When we asked our SEO company, they said this was due to a 3 month delay in Domain Rank numbers. Is this true?

Is there a difference between .com backlinks and .co.uk?
(We are a UK based business) I am currently looking for sites for guest posting opportunities and I am not sure whether I should prioritize .co.uk sites or go for .com sites. Does it matter? Is more weight given to .co.uk sites if you are based in the UK?

Should I add forward slash when linking to a domain?
I'm doing some work on an ecommerce website which appears as www.domain.com/ I'm just curious about the relevance of the forward slash at the end when I'm linking to the website. Should I link to www.domain.com or www.domain.com/ or does this even matter? Thanks
