Advetorial links
-
How do you scientifically value advertorial links. I have a site who is willing to buy advertorial in large online sites which will contain links. (I would prefer they invested in content on their own site). The DA on these sites is universally extremely strong. the PA of the examples I've seen is pretty low.
The site has strong DA matching it's main competition and is performing pretty well in terms of ranking.
Question: how do you value this kind of link in terms of the amount of £ the publications want to charge. Anybody have a formula or a logical process which would provide solid advice rather than don't infringe Google's T&C's which I've already mentioned to them.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks for the response!
Yes the client is pretty web savvy so I'm sure they're asking all the right questions when it comes to metrics. However I'd still like to be able to give them something more concrete re link equity. To be clear this is placed/partnered content and not ads as such - more microsites within the root domain.
What I can respond with so far
DA is excellent, PA is very low for all options.
One option also has very spammy links pointing to the example page provided
None of the links in the examples are no follow however the content is marked as advertisement or sponsored content
Cite JC Penny etc and risks and underline importance of sustainable linkbuildingAny other thoughts anyone?

You are already on the right start in explaining Google's Terms of Service. The DA is important to look at for advertising (it will give you an idea with how much link equity you can get from a site, or how popular a domain is), but if you are advertising in accordance with Google T&Cs, then all links you receive will be nofollowed. This makes DA and PA not the best metrics to look at.
If you're running Ads, you'll want to look at how many visitors the site receives, how loyal those visitors are, how long they spend on the page, and how likely they are to click on a sponsored link. The webmasters' analytics will show all of this, which they should be willing to share if they are going to charge big bucks.

Although these sites are up and running and have been crawled, the links are not showing up on mot. What else do I need to do? Is it anything to do with whether I put http://www. or just www. Please can someone advise.

What are inbound links worth after Panda and Penguin, since a site ranks for the NATIONAL keyword "outdoor furniture" with ONLY 7 INBOUND LINKS!?!?
ARE INBOUND LINKS TODAY ALMOST WORTHLESS??!!? After having been the KING of SEO, down to the toilet? Today I got a great sample from a fellow SEO professional showing a site, rockymountainfurniture.com rank for "outdoor furniture" with ONLY 7 INBOUND LINKS FROM 3 DOMAINS and a domain trust of 14!!!! ON A NATIONAL, VALUABLE, HIGH QUERY VOLUME KEYWORD!! I was stunned, but is this the "NEW SEO WORLD" we live in, so we should skip spending hundreds of hours on link building? There are over 32 different types of inbound links but this is much MORE than a radical change, this is turning SEO as it was up-side-down. Any input, thoughts, ideas?

Link Building with Bloggers
I want to know when it comes to link building with relevant bloggers, is there a difference among the following in terms of SEO value? product review product giveaway guest blog Also, what would look natural o Google as how many of such links I can build per month? We are a consumer products, we've had lots of bloggers approach us wanting to do the above link building with us, if they fit the profile, high quality site, relevant to our business, does that mean I can do as many per month as we'd like to?

Remove links after Penguin?
My site did not get hit. I am worried that Google will come back and get me for those anchor-text links I built a while back. They are of low to medium quality guest posts. Should I remove my old low-quality links? What about those on sites and pages that have been deindexed by Google? Any point in removing those? I know we can only speculate at this point, but would really appreciate some opinions on this. Has the trend in the past been a slight rollback after a big algorithm update like this? Or could we expect to see more and more sites being penalized? -Mathias

Are These Types of Links Tracked
I have a client that is looking to be listed on a group of directory sites for the service that they offer. After reviewing the site I found that they have a unique way of listing their links, check out one example at http://www.lakidsguide.com/Summer_Camps.php#educational where each title is a link that goes to the client website. IF you look at the first listing for Adventure Treks the link actually goes to http://www.lakidsguide.com/linktrack.php?type=listing®ionid=33&bid=9391&listingid=10176 and then is redirected to their true website at http://adventuretreks.com/. Would this link be picked up by Google and the other engines as a link from lakidsguide.com to adventuretreks.com with the way they are directing the link to their own tracking page first? To me it seems that the engines would not see any outgoing link and therefor the listing would not give the client any benefit as far as SEO is concerned. Any input?
