Can I base a SEO campaign on a specific MLS listing inteads of full broker web site?
-
I have been ask to do a SEO campaign for one MLS listing: house for sale in the rosedale area in Toronto, and I am having difficulty to target one specific MLS listing .
I don't want to do the SEO campaign on http://jimmymolloy.com but rather one specific listing http://jimmymolloy.com/feature/?mls=A_C2337646&listing=for-sale
Google Analytic does not allow me to have a URL with a query.

I will try my best with what I have now.... something to create for a coding genius... Wordpress MLS listing SEO friendly
Thank you Anthony

"... Is my only option is to create a parallel web page with no MLS so I can have the right keywords in the URL?"
Yes, I wold think making a new page with keywords in url would be the best way to go.Once PR and link equity has been established you can always at that time 301 redirect to the wordpress mls query page.
But if you have to optimize the wordpress site page with MLS query, not having keywords in the url is not the end of the world. You can sstill do alot to optimize that page as is with good content, quality links and a social media blitz.

Thank you Anthony... i guess it is my fault, I should give you more info....
The house for sale That I need to do SEO is located on a Wordpress site that use a MLS component. So each houses have a different query from the MLS system.
So far I can not change the URL of the query... it is not to my advantage for the SEO work.
... Is my only option is to create a parallel web page with no MLS so I can have the right keywords in the URL?

Ok, if I understand correctly, your are getting an MLS listing posted on MLS website. Then adding a link to that listing fro your site, www.jimmymolloy.com. Your then wanting to change the MLS listing url to search engine friendly keywords?
If the answer to above is yes, then I don't think you could unless you own the MLS site and changed its query strings to SEF (Search Engine Friendly)
Now if your wanting to simply create a page on your wordpress site there is an option in wordpress to make url's SEF. You can make one according to the keywords you want, then link from within your page to the MLS listing page. This would pass any link juice from your page to the MLS page.
-
To my knowledge I can not change the URL for the MLS listing... I which I could change the URL with keywords but I am at the mercy of the query created by the MLS component...any idea to how to go over that issue?
-
Would it be plausible to make a page like http://jimmymolloy.com/rosedale-toronto-house-for-sale.htm
Link to the MLS listing from that page, then work on your content, links and social media. Once you see progress and rewards apply a 301 redirect to the MLS listing to pass link juice to it. ???

How do I combat title tag issues in Moz because of long company/site name? [Currently using Yoast SEO Plugin]
I've only just started to dip my toe into the SEO pool, so please forgive me if this is a silly question. I've been working heavily in the Moz tool and the Yoast SEO plugin to clean up the meta descriptions on our site, as there were many pages without descriptions in place (we just transferred from a different CMS to Wordpress within the last month or so). Now I'm noticing on our Site Crawl that we have 60+ pages that have title elements that are considered too long. When I go in to fix these issues on our blog posts (as this is where most of the issues lie), Yoast is already giving me the green light on the title lengths. I've discovered that the reason why Moz is telling us that many of our site lengths are too long is because "| Parker Staffing Services" is added to the end of our title tags automatically. Deep breath Now that you've heard all of the backstory... Is there a way that I can prevent that site title (which is 26 characters all by itself! Talk about limiting!) from displaying on search engines when our blog posts or pages show up in search results? I've poked around in the Titles & Metas settings that come with Yoast, but I fear making too many changes will result in me screwing something up. Help an SEO beginner out? 🙂

Canonical URLs all show trailing slash on main site pages - using Yoast SEO for Wordpress - how to correct
We are using Yoast for a number of our sites. We use naked domain as the canonical. I have noticed in the header tags that all our sites show the canonical URLs as having a trailing slash: Example: http;//foxspizzajc.com, when I look at the source code, it shows the canonical as http;//foxspizzajc.com/ Of course, it is much more likely that all sites that link to us will not use the trailing slash - so preferably we do not want that to be the canonical - among other reasons. Does this need to be fixed so the trailing slash is removed? I cannot see how to do this in Yoast SEO or in Permalinks structure for Wordpress. Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks for any help.

Web Site Migration Testing and SEO-QA Automation?
Hey Mozzers, Are there any good Migration-SEO-QA Tools out there? Given a prioritized list of URLs and prioritized list of Keywords, is there a tool that can compare basic SEO factors, old URL vs. new URL, and identify all the specific gaps that need to be fixed? Here is a basic SEO-QA acceptance checklist, for porting any website. . . . Until the porting work is completed we cannot accept the new website. Givens: 1. A list of the Top 100 URLs from the old site, prioritized by conversion rates, landing page traffic, and inbound links. 2. A list of the planned 404 - mapped URLs, old to new site, from the porting team. 3. A list of the current Top 200 Keywords, prioritized. 4. A good amount of SEO work has already been done, by several professionals, for the current (old) site. **How to evaluate if the new site will be acceptable to Google? Check ON-PAGE SEO Factors... ** **. . . that is, the NEW site must be AS GOOD AS (or better than) the current (old) site,

in the eyes of Google, to preserve the On-Page SEO work already done. ** Criteria: URLs ok? :: Is the URL mapping ok, old to new, best web page? LINKS ok :: Are all internal LINKS and keyword Anchor Text ported? TEXT ok :: On-page content, TEXT and keywords ok? TITLE ok :: HTML Title and title keywords ok? DESCRIPTION ok :: HTML Meta Description ok? H1, H2 ok :: HTML H1, H2 and keywords ok? IMG kwds :: HTML IMG and ALT keywords ok? URL kwds :: URL - keywords in new URLs ok? Potential porting defects: Keywords in URL missing: Keywords in HTML Title missing: Keywords in Meta Description missing: Any internal LINKS or Link anchor text missing: Keywords in Page TEXT missing: H1, H2 missing keywords: HTML IMG alt-text, IMG file URLs, any missing keywords: Notes: Until the porting work is completed we cannot accept the new site, or set a target date for potential cutover. There are eight (8) data items per URL, and about one hundred (100) URLs to be considered for SEO-QA before going live. We were expecting to cutover before the end of February, at the latest. There is no point in doing full QA acceptance-tests until the porting work is completed. QA spot-checks have found far too many defects. About 60% of the landing-page traffic comes via the top 40 URLs. With over 100 URLs to look at, it can take more than a week or two just to do SEO-QA in detail, manually, item-by-item, page-by-page, side-by-side, old vs. new. Spot-checks indicate a business disaster would occur unless the porting defects are fixed before going live. _Any Migration-QA Tools?_Given a prioritized list of URLs and prioritized list of Keywords, is there a tool that can compare basic On-Page SEO factors, old URL vs. new URL, and identify most of the specific gaps that need to be fixed before going live with the new site? _ *** Edit: Any comments on the SEO criteria, tools, or methods will be appreciated!_0 -
SEOmoz crawler not crawling my site
We set up a new campaign in SEOmoz on Friday. It is my understanding that the preliminary crawl can cover up to 250 and this has been our experience in the past. However, the preliminary crawl only went through 2 pages. This is a larger eCommerce site with many pages. Any ideas why more pages weren't crawled? We set up the campaign to track at the root domain level.

SEO Moz Rank Report
Anyone else noticing the rank reporting seems to be off? My reports are showing "not in top 50" for some keywords that my site is on page one for. Not in places listings either because I know that can throw things off! Anyone?

Reliable Tracking of Campaign with Subdomain and Subfolder
Hi, i was wondering if i can rely on the tracking for a campaign like subdomain.example.com/subfolder/ The idea is to measure all the data regarding e.g. one specific language within a subdomain and use the tools based on this data. Thank you in advance.

Conflicting Data with Open Site Explorer & SEO Moz Toolbar
Hi there, Why is my SEOmoz toolbar showing me higher linking root domains than open site explorer? For example, for this site: http://thisisouryear.com/, the linking root domains in SEOMOZ show 1,015 and in open site explorer it says it has 35. I have noticed this for other sites as well. Which one is right? And why are they different?
