Does iFrame content between the iFrame tag produce any conceivable value????
-
One of my clients is using a variety of unbounce pages for their web forms that are held in iFrames in the site template.
This doesn't seem to produce much rank as it ranks very low in the search engines, and doesn't list in SEOMOZ as relevant to the keywords that I'm targetting it for.
I'm thinking it may provide some benefit to replicate the content in between the iFrame tag, i.e. <iframe src="UnbouncePage.html">replicated content here</iframe>.
Any thoughts on this Mozers??
Thankss

Hey Tommy, thanks again for your response.
I've read both those pages you linked too (sadly the example links are dead in the SEW site).
From What I can gather on Google:
"This document describes the use of the "NoFrames" tag to provide alternate content. If you use wording such as "This site requires the use of frames," or "Upgrade your browser," instead of providing alternate content on your site, then you'll exclude both search engines and individuals who've disabled frames on their browsers."
This is obviously true, but my point is whether Google will index (or give any value too) replicated content that is in these noFrames tags.
And from SEW:
"Now we have some descriptive text that any search engine can read, not just those that support meta tags. Furthermore, we've created a way for them (and humans) to get inside the site."
In this example the content they are putting in no frames is a reference to an index page, on the same site.
It could well be viewed as a Black hat technique if the NoFrames is abused to try and rank for terms not in the iFrame as it wouldn't be seen by the user but would by Google. But for example it's not like the content has been made the same colour as the background to deliberately hide it, like a proper black hat technique.
Basically "No Frames" is a tag that could be open to abuse, if Google does indeed index the "no frames tag" for anything more than links. so is Google likely to index it, giving the site the benefit of the doubt as it could be used innocently
Thanks again for the links, I just don't think they get to the core of the situation.

HI Tommy, thanks for your response.
I've read a few posts about iFrames all of them following what that post says about content referenced in an iFrame not providing any value to the page,,, and that obviously makes sense.
I just don't think it answers what I'm getting at. by putting content within the iFrame tags (which is normally used for a message like "you're browser is from the stone age and doesn't support iFrames") then the content is technically on page and can be directly indexed by Google without having to follow the "iFrame src".
Does that make sense?

When is Duplicate Content Duplicate Content
Hi, I was wondering exactly when duplicate content is duplicate content? Is it always when it is word-for-word or if it is similar? For example, we currently have an information page and I would like to add a FAQ to the website. There is, however, a crossover with the content and some of it is repeated. However, it is not written word for word. Could you please advise me? Thanks a lot Tom

Database driven content producing false duplicate content errors
How do I stop the Moz crawler from creating false duplicate content errors. I have yet to submit my website to google crawler because I am waiting to fix all my site optimization issues. Example: contactus.aspx?propid=200, contactus.aspx?propid=201.... these are the same pages but with some old url parameters stuck on them. How do I get Moz and Google not to consider these duplicates. I have looked at http://moz.com/learn/seo/duplicate-content with respect to Rel="canonical" and I think I am just confused. Nick

Wordpress tags and duplicate content?
I've seen a few other Q&A posts on this but I haven't found a complete answer. I read somewhere a while ago that you can use as many tags as you would like. I found that I rank for each tag I used. For example, I could rank for best night clubs in san antonio, good best night clubs in san antonio, great best night clubs in san antonio, top best night clubs in san antonio, etc. However, I now see that I'm creating a ton of duplicate content. Is there any way to set a canonical tag on the tag pages to link back to the original post so that I still keep my rankings? Would future tags be ignored if I did this?

Filter Tag Duplicate Content E-Commerce Issue
Hello, I just launched a new site for a client but am seeing some duplicate content issues in the campaign crawl. It has to do with the drill-down, filter "tags" that helps users find the product they are looking for. You can see them in the sidebar here: http://www.ssmd.com/shop/ In my crawl report this is what is showing up as duplicate content (attached image). How do I keep these widgets from generating duplicate content on the site? Also, not sure if it's important or not, but I am using Wordpress, WooCommerce and Yoast's SEO Tool. Any suggestions are appreciated! Screen%20Shot%202012-10-23%20at%202.56.00%20PM.png

Duplicate Content on Product Pages
Hello I'm currently working on two sites and I had some general question's about duplicate content. For the first one each page is a different location, but the wording is identical on each; ie it says Instant Remote Support for Critical Issues, Same Day Onsite Support with a 3-4 hour response time, etc. Would I get penalized for this? Another question i have is, we offer Antivirus support for providers ie Norton, AVG,Bit Defender etc. I was wondering if we will get penalized for having the same first paragraph with only changing the name of the virus provider on each page? My last question is we provide services for multiple city's and towns in various states. Will I get penalized for having the same content on each page, such as towns and producuts and services we provide? Thanks.

Duplicate Content Issue
Very strange issue I noticed today. In my SEOMoz Campaigns I noticed thousands of Warnings and Errors! I noticed that any page on my website ending in .php can be duplicated by adding anything you want to the end of the url, which seems to be causing these issues. Ex: Normal URL - www.example.com/testing.php Duplicate URL - www.example.com/testing.php/helloworld The duplicate URL displays the page without the images, but all the text and information is present, duplicating the Normal page. I Also found that many of my PDFs seemed to be getting duplicated burried in directories after directories, which I never ever put in place. Ex: www.example.com/catalog/pdfs/testing.pdf/pdfs/another.pdf/pdfs/more.pdfs/pdfs/ ... when the pdfs are only located in a pdfs directory! I am very confused on how to fix this problem. Maybe with some sort of redirect?
