Do I need to do anything with masking?

Hello, I read up a bit on rel=cansomething where if a page has duplicate content you should put the tag there linking to the real page.
I have a godaddy domain that uses blogger for it's posts currently (Foward with masking). Do I need this tag?

Okay I finally got some host gator hosting but I have no idea what to do. I am up to the part where I am entering the details for the CNAME but it says the record already exists?

It can be a bit tough without seeing the domain (since these situation can vary a lot), but I tend to agree with Matthew - the masking can cause a lot of strange side-effects, for search and visitors. One thing I'd definitely do is so how Google is indexing your content. You can just use the "site:" operator:
site:example.com
(with your domain, and leave off the "www") - if your correct domain is showing up with indexed pages, and there aren't a ton of duplicates, you're probably doing ok. If your posts aren't being indexed and are only showing up under the Blogger domain, then your set-up is sub-optimal at best.

Hey wait hold on, the part where you said 'host my blog on a url that I already own' I have done that already from a tutorial i saw somewhere where I update the record or something by putting my url.
I also have masking on my account?
Now I'm very lost -_-
Update: Okay I took off masking with my godaddy account and just did the second option you put which was update the records or something (I already had that).

URL masking is not an ideal solution for SEO as it masks the URL for subsequent pages of the site which can create perceived duplicate content. Here is an article with a little bit more on that.
http://webenso.com/domain-forwarding-seo/In your case, the ideal solution is to setup a custom domain for your Blogger.com blog. Here are the instructions on how to do that. Click "Host my blog on a URL that I already own" then click on "Yes" for the "hosted at GoDaddy" question.
http://support.google.com/blogger/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=1233381&page=ts.csDoing that will let you have individual URLs appear in the address bar. As for the canonical URL you were asking about, it is best practice to use them if you can. They are only essential if you have problems with duplicate content. Need Help On Proper Steps to Take To De-Index Our Search Results Pages
So, I have finally decided to remove our Search Results pages from Google. This is a big dealio, but our traffic has consistently been declining since 2012 and it's the only thing I can think of. So, the reason they got indexed is back in 2012, we put linked tags on our product pages, but they linked to our search results pages. So, over time we had hundreds of thousands of search results pages indexed. By tag pages I mean: Keywords: Kittens, Doggies, Monkeys, Dog-Monkeys, Kitten-Doggies Each of these would be linked to our search results pages, i.e. http://oursite.com/Search.html?text=Kitten-Doggies So, I really think these pages being indexed are causing much of our traffic problems as there are many more Search Pages indexed than actual product pages. So, my question is... Should I go ahead and remove the links/tags on the product pages first? OR... If I remove those, will Google then not be able to re-crawl all of the search results pages that it has indexed? Or, if those links are gone will it notice that they are gone, and therefore remove the search results pages they were previously pointing to? So, Should I remove the links/tags from the product page (or at least decrease them down to the top 8 or so) as well as add the no-follow no-index to all the Search Results pages at the same time? OR, should I first no-index, no-follow ALL the search results pages and leave those tags on the product pages there to give Google a chance to go back and follow those tags to all of the Search Results pages so that it can get to all of those Search Results pages in order to noindex,. no follow them? Otherwise will Google not be able find these pages? Can someone comment on what might be the best, safest, or fastest route? Thanks so much for any help you might offer me!! After I 301 redirect duplicate pages to my rel=canonical page, do I need to add any tags or code to the non canonical pages?
I have many duplicate pages. Some pages have 2-3 duplicates. Most of which have Uppercase and Lowercase paths (generated by Microsoft IIS). Does this implementation of 301 and rel=canonical suffice? Or is there more I could do to optimize the passing of duplicate page link juice to the canonical. THANK YOU!

Is rel=canonical needed for URLs with Google Analytics query strings?
If a page URL has Google Analytics query strings, does the page need a canonical tag? e.g., something.com/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=mar-2013-nsl I have rel=canonical on all our pages because some of them will be accessed via URLs that have non-Google strings. The strings are only for marketing purposes, not for identifying a specific page to display. e.g., something.com/?source=acme Should I only implement the canonical tag on the pages that might have non-Google marketing strings in the URL?

Site Got Hacked! Need Help!
Hi Guys. One of my friend's site got hacked 2 weeks ago, because of bad php script hole and Google indexed the pages which got hacked and all the Title Tags and Descriptions are indexed in the Google which is very embarssing situation. All adult content texts. Right now we have solved the problem and closed the hole submitted the new sitemap, but Google is no longer coming back and refreshining the SERP. We have been waiting for 3 weeks for now? What should we do? Methods we tried so far: 1.Cleaned all meta tags generate new sitemap and submitted that to Google 2.Built some backlinks 3.Built some social bookmarks Thanks!

Is the Sandbox Real? Need Help!
To start, I'm very new at this so I've likely made a ton of mistakes but here is the breakdown of what's happened/what's been done to my site. I own a wedding photography company which was based in Portland, we decided about six months prior that we wanted to relocate to San Diego. It was too soon to optimize our website for our new town of San Diego so I created a brand new site. It was born around June 2011. It looks just like the old site but all the content is different (different titles, re-uploaded images, text, etc was optimized for San Diego). What may be my pitfall is I imported our blog posts from the old site to the new site and we continued to keep both blogs live (writing the post in one, importing to the other). San Diego site: http://continuumweddings.com Old Site (now optimized for LA): http://continuumphotography.com From there I began link building. I signed up for the SEO Scheduler and began making the changes suggested there. It told me to sign up for Linxboss, and I did it. Other than that, my links have been build naturally and I have quite a few of them, definitely enough to compete with my top competitors. At one point I was #3 for "San Diego Wedding Photographer" and I stayed there for a couple weeks. Then I began to drop. Now I'm somewhere on page 10. I've read a lot of articles on here and I know I have a lot of things potentially hurting me. Site age, Duplicate content, etc. I'm just not sure why I dropped (still rank on 1st page in Yahoo & Bing) and what I should do about it. I tend to get overwhelmed and every post I read seems to talk about something new I may have done wrong. I'm willing to put in the time to fix this; I just need to know where my time is best spent.
