My Old Domain is Not Changing in Google

I have taken over the following domain www.choice-cottages.co.uk, part of the contract was to re-direct the old site www.choicecottages.info to the new site. Unfortunately I am only a middle man in the arrangement as the website is hosted with another company. The switch was done well over 4 weeks ago, the re-direct itself is working fine.
However if you google choice cottages you will see the first listing is www.choicecottages.info, then I have my new site below for a few listings.
Google is definitely updating something as before the old domain had lots of site links but this has reduced to a few.
Does anyone know anything on this, as in the past it only takes a couple of days to update.

Does the Google account you are using have sufficient permissions?
When you log into WMT and you see the site, look at the box to the right which says Manage Site. If the only option is to "delete site" then you do not have sufficient permissions.
Redirecting your site with a 301 is the proper action to take. The results you are seeing are normal. Google is slowly crawling your site over time and seeing the redirect on your site's pages and making adjustments. Usually 4 weeks is enough time to see all the changes but there are various reasons it could take longer. Perhaps your site had a momentary problem during a crawl. Perhaps your robots.txt file changed.
Perform a site: search. As long as the number of URLs on the old site are decreasing steadily, I would not be worried.

I didn't actually do the 301 re-directs which is why I am worried, this was done by the other company, is there a way of checking?
I just run the domain through site explorer and got the message:
Oh Hey! It looks like that URL redirects to www.choice-cottages.co.uk. Would you like to see data for <a class="clickable redirects">that URL instead</a>?
So I am guessing I am ok, but 4 weeks seems like a long time.

Did you use 301 redirect from your old site to your new site?
Coz if you did, then Google will take some time, not just a couple of days, to discover the 301, recognize it, and credit the new page with the rankings and trust of its old page.

ok I may of missed a trick here, I have re-submitted both sites to webmaster tools. I had assumed that re-submitting the old site Google would see the re-direct and remove the old site. After your post done a quick bit or research and see that I should notify google of the change. I have clicked on change of address and I get.

There is no change of address pending for your site.It doesn't give me the option to notify them, any suggestions?Many thanksAndy

Have you gone into Google WMT for the www.choicecottages.info and informed Google you were moving the site?

good morning I have a wordpress site I have activated the multisite, currently the site has a domain authority of 8, when I publish a post, it is indexed quite quickly, if I publish a post in a language other than the /es subdomain it takes 24 hours why? Old domain (example.com) to (somethingelse.com)
Hi there I'd really appreciate any help you can give me. I want to redirect our old domain (example.com) to (somethingelse.com). They are both hosted separately. The old domain has a domain authority of 20 and never ranked well. We can't be sure Google simply doesn't like the old domain. I'll explore the links again to check. Another question is: do we even want to pass the old authority to the new website? Thank you.

GSC: Change of Domain Not Processed, Despite Saying "Approved"?
Hi folks, I've just completed a straightforward olddomain -> newdomain migration. All the redirects were done on 7th Feb. I submitted the change of domain request on 7th Feb. All seemed fine - as can be seen in the attached. It's now 19th March and our pals at GSC are still saying that the domain migration is ongoing. I've never had this take so long before; 2-3 days tops. Their results are tanking as I can't geo target and more features in GSC are out of action as it's 'locked' due to this migration (I just get a screen as per the attached). Thoughts? Shall I risk withdrawing the request and starting anew? The old "turn it off and on again"? Thanks! hJXKC

Domain forwarding
Hi Is it ok or bad practice to domain forward shorter more memorable snappier domains used for promoting a website to a longer domain where the website actually lives, such as: Promoting in social media profiles, emails and offline literature a domain with forwarding set up like: www.brand.com To the main website: www.brandincludingprimaryproductrelatedkeyword.com And if ok (not bad practice), since its the forwarded domains that are being promoted they are hence the links most likely to be shared on social media and other websites so will they be treated like 301's and 'link building' for those will pretty much equate to link building for the main domain (or not) ? Domain Forwarding / Multiple Domain Names / or Rebuild Blogs on them
I am considering forwarding 3 very aged and valuable domain names to my main site. There were once over 100 blog posts on each blog and each one has a page authority of 45 and domain authority of 37. My question is should i put up three blogs on the domains and link them to my site or should i just forward the domains to my main site? Which will provide me with more value. I have the capability to have some one blog on them every day. However, i do not have access to any of the old blog posts. I guess i could scrape it of archive.org. Any advice would be appreciated. Frequent server changes
Hey guys. I have a server related question. One of our websites is hosted with a nasty slow company, and we want to make a change. The problem we have is that the site is 6 months old so it started on one server, the client then moved it to this slow host about 2 months ago, we now want to move it again. Question about domain redirects
One of my clients has an odd domain redirect situation. See if you can get your head round this: Domain A is set-up as a domain alias of Domain B Entering domain A or domain B takes you to default.asp on domain B. The default.asp includes VB script to check the HTTP_HOST variable. It checks whether the main doman name for domain A is present in the HTTP_HOST and if so redirects it to domain A/sub-folder/index.htm. If not present it redirects to domain B/index.htm. In both cases the redirect uses a response.Redirect clause. I think what is trying to be achieved is to redirect requests to Domain A to a sub-folder of Domain B. It works but seems extremely convoluted. Can anyone see problems with this set-up? Will link juice be lost along the redirect paths?
