1 Domain - 2 Links Pointing to 2 Different Pages
-
Hi Guys,
I wonder if you can give me any pointers:
We have an exact match domain name that is ranking #5 for our main keyword and is getting some good traffic through the site.
We have just created a landing page for another keyword with fresh content that will be updated every week.
The question is, I've been building links to my domain name and I'm just wondering if we built another link from 1 of the sites we already have a link on and point it to this new landing page would this help it rank better or not?
Hope the above makes sense.
Thanks,
Scott

It wouldn't hurt to have a link going to that page from the same domain, this is called deep linking by linking to a page that is not your homepage. Although once you have a link from a domain you should find other domains to build links from. I only really measure the value of unique referring domains as I believe Google only values a certain number of incoming links from a domain before devaluing the rest (think blogroll links or footer links).
Having the link to your new page on the same site won't give you the biggest impact. Ideally you want to find new sites to build deep links too. Diversify your link profile!

SEO value of home page links
I was looking at the website peak7.org and there are links on the homepage that rotate at the bottom. Do such links have SEO value even though they are not static text links? Are they still counted as links by Google if they are in that rotating carousel?

Too many external links vs linking root domains - good or bad?
Hi guys, After the latest Linkscape update, we noticed that our website have 424,671 external links with 4,395 linking root domains, so roughly 100 links/domain. Does Google consider this to be a negative thing or we do not need to worry about it. Many thanks. David

Will No Follow Links count toward your root domain links for Domain Authority?
I am wondering if no follow links help, hurt, or do nothing when it comes to increasing page and domain authority? I know they are not supposed to pass rank and I have read discussions that some people suspect they still might, but I am wondering if I have a mix of follow plus no follow, will the no follow ones increase the count of the root domains linking to me and help boost my authority? Assuming of course the no follow links are coming from quality sites with high page and domain authority of their own. Thanks.
