Hi there
I was wondering if is any profit from an aged domain. Can anyone advice how to take out the most of seo benefits? White hat only techniques.
Thanks in advance

Thanks James! I see that the only reliable source of info about seo is seomoz! Haha I am wondering what they are doing now all this spam guys when their tactics are not working anymore! Thanks a lot guys

Yes it does help but its worth noting that Google is giving less and less weight to the age of the domain, just like they are doing to keyword domains as well, since they realize its something that can be gamed rather easily.

Well to be honest aged domains can show more trust with search engines, but you really need to thing more about the overall quality of a site and the links which are coming in and also the social elements to the site.
Look at a site like Mashable - 2005 age (huge links, social, content ect)
Look at older sites made 1997 from example, less links, less social, less content - Mashable will out rank them.
I think with Age of sites it really works on a case by case example and many other factors also come into play,
Sure if you have a very new site i.e 3 months old v.s a 10 year old domain I will pick the 10 year old domain.
Another important factor is (Indexed age of the domain vs non indexed age of a domain) indexed domains are far better than domains which have never been indexed just registered on a specific date.
I hope this helps.

Schema Markup Doesn't Make Any Sense!! Help Please
Hey again Moz community! I've been trying to read up on schema markup and watch videos multiple times (!) but I can't understand how it works. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can answer these questions: Do I need to ‘markup’ every part of the article? Like “this section can be FAQ snippet, and this can also FAQ etc..". So I guess my question is how detailed does the markup have to be? What are the best tools to use for schema markup for wordpress? What are the best tools to use for schema markup for react web-app? The https://search.google.com/test/rich-results shows if the markup is good for a page, but it doesn’t provide any details. For some articles it says that sitelinks searchbox is detected but that’s only one type of snippet possibility? Do I need to add additional markup for, say, list snippets and FAQ snippets if I want a chance to get those? Thanks a lot! Leo W

Blocking Certain Site Parameters from Google's Index - Please Help
Hello, So we recently used Google Webmaster Tools in an attempt to block certain parameters on our site from showing up in Google's index. One of our site parameters is essentially for user location and accounts for over 500,000 URLs. This parameter does not change page content in any way, and there is no need for Google to index it. We edited the parameter in GWT to tell Google that it does not change site content and to not index it. However, after two weeks, all of these URLs are still definitely getting indexed. Why? Maybe there's something we're missing here. Perhaps there is another way to do this more effectively. Has anyone else ran into this problem? The path we used to implement this action:

Please help on this penalized site!
OK, this is slowly frying my brain and would like some clarification from someone in the know, we have posted multiple reconsideration requests the regular "site violates googles quality guidelines" .."look for unnatural links etc" email back in March 2012, I came aboard the business in August 2012 to overcome bad SEO companies work. So far i have filled several disavow requests by domain and cleared over 90% of our backlink profile which where all directory, multiple forum spam links etc from WMT, OSE and Ahrefs and compiled this to the disavow tool, as well as sending a google docs shared file in our reconsideration request of all the links we have been able to remove and the disavow tool, since most where built in 2009/2010 a lot where impossible to remove. We managed to shift about 12 - 15% of our backlink profile by working very very hard too remove them. The only links that where left where quality links and forum posts created by genuine users and relevant non spam links As well as this we now have a high quality link profile which has also counteracted a lot of the bad "seo" work done by these previous companies, i have explained this fully in our reconsideration request as well as a massive apology on behalf of the work those companies did, and we are STILL getting generic "site violates" messages, so far we have spent in excess of 150 hours to get this penalty removed and so far Google hasn't even batted an eyelid. We have worked SO hard to combat this issue it almost feels almost very personal, if Google read the reconsideration request they would see how much work we have done too remove this issue. If anyone can give any updates or help on anything we have missed i would appreciate it, i feel like we have covered every base!! Chris www.palicomp.co.uk
