Number of available links limited?
-
OK, I've been making use of the free LinkScape API (on behalf of a client of mine) and trying to get links (and info on those links) to a specific domain/page/etc.
NOTE : I've been using it without any issue in the past, however we are currently facing some weird issues.
Let's take this simple query as an example :
What this one supposedly does is to get links to "wikipedia.org", right?
I'm reading :
The Page_to_* scopes will by default
return 25 links per source domain
if no limit is specified, so you can see domain diversity.
Due to space limitations in our API,
a general link query for a given page
will return at most 25 pages for every unique domain
linking to that page.
And I'm saying OK, that's fine.
The thing is that (instead of the 1000 links I had been getting before), I'm now getting just 25 links. NOT per... "source domain"... but obviously per "target domain" (= wikipedia.org) - or am I missing something? (well, probably wikipedia suddenly has just about 25 links pointed to it... makes sense! )
Please, let me know what's going on with the above, simply because getting just 25 links is close to worthless...
Thanks a lot, in advance!

Hi there, We don't typically provide QA support for the Free Mozscape API.
I encourage you to post your question to our Dev Discussion forum: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293196-developer-discussion-group. Our engineering community monitors that and you will probably get a response within 48 hours.
We prefer to do any API support through our forum because that way other people in the community can benefit from the discussion. Making the support scalable allows us to keep offering the API as a free service. I hope you understand.
However, if you would like increased rate limits (10 r/s), additional metrics and email support, we suggest you upgrade to the paid version of our Mozscape API. If you'd like to upgrade, send a note to andrew@seomoz.org or just respond to this email and we'll get your account set up.
Looking forward to seeing your post in the Dev Discussion group!
Best,
Nick

If links have been disavowed, do they still show in crawl reports?
I have a new client who says they have disavowed all their bad links, but I still see a bunch of spammy backlinks in my external links report. I understand that disavow does not mean links are actually removed so will they continue to show in Google Webmaster Tools and in my Moz reports? If so, how do I know which ones have been disavowed and which have not? Regards, Dino

OK Crawl Test Link Question Again!
I've downloaded a crawl test and column G Link Count reads 62 and yep there are a total of 62 links on the page in question. Column AM Internal Links reads 303 and yep there are somewhere in the order of 303 pages pointing at this one. Root Domains is surprisingly low at 6, so maybe there are only 6 domains linking to this page. BUT... External Links read 51. There are not 51 links pointing away from this domain on this page, no way hozay, so can anybody tell me what is meant by 'External Links? A humble thank you in anticipation of an education. Jem

Link report that is broken down by C Block?
I've tried to do this in the advanced reports are of Moz, but to no avail. I just want to be able to see all the links (and anchor text would be nice too) for each CBlock.

Is canonical link enough?
Hi SEOmozers! I have a question. SEOmoz analysis report me some duplicate that I thought I had fix. I can give a concrete example. This page: http://www.nuxeo.com/en/about/events/dec2011training-boston/moreinfo is reported as having 6 duplicated URL in the tool. When I click on 6, SEOMOZ tells me "Our crawl bots are getting their joints greased to fetch you even better data. Sorry for the delay!" And on the page itself, I placed a canonical link to follow recommandation. rel="canonical" href="http://www.nuxeo.com/en/about/events/apr2012training-boston" /> As a result I am curious why I would have this reported as duplicate by SEOmoz. Is this a bug? Thanks for feedback!

How can the differences between Moz and Majestic's link totals be explained?
Hello, Newbie here so this might be a really daft question.... We've a few accounts and are trialling different software - across a few campaigns, we're seeing big differences in link numbers from different software (namely Moz and Majestic). I'm assuming there is a really good reason for it - just can't find what it is! Thanks in advance!

SEOmoz API - Links and Anchor Text Calls
Hi, I'm testing out the SEOmoz API - however I'm stuggling to understand the use of the Cols parameter within the "anchor-text" method. I've looped through increasing numbers of "Cols" for a standard query and there just seems to be no logical pattern.

"TargetCols"
"SourceCols"
"LinkCols" The description here http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/w/page/13991141/Links API - is a bit vague It appears that the links API spits out everything anyway - that one's less of an issue. So... could anyone explain how the Anchor-text API parameter Cols works?? Cheers!0 -
Open site explorer - Analysing competitors links
When using open site explorer to analyse my competitors links, when going through them, I would click them to have a look at them. Almost all of the ones I clicked on something started to download on my computer and would be a blank page or the tab would disappear when the download begun. What is this? Why have they done this? Is this bad practice? Thanks
