URL is starting to appear capitalized in Google Search Results. How come?
-
Our domain (www.absoluteautomation.com) has just today started appearing in search results as www.AbsoluteAutomation.com. Any ideas why?
-
Hi Margaret,
It's showing in lowercase for me here in the UK when searching for either your keyphrases or the domain name directly.

Updated on June 16, 2012. Absoluteautomation.com detailed information. Wireless Driveway Alarm, Driveway Alarms, Wireless Doorbell System related site
the first letter is cap when your site is in the URL of some other site
-
Hi Margaret,
I took a look and yes, found multiple listings on page 2, all still lower case. Again I attached a screen shot. Are you private browsing to see the results? [I did}
-
Margaret,
Here, Dayton Ohio US you are appearing all lowercase..for driveway alarms
Out of curiosity I wonder if anybody who uses your computer camel cases your domain when they type it in the browser, or search?
-
Interesting, it shows for when we search the key phrase "driveway alarm" or "driveway alarms" you'll notice we're not on the first page but should have multiple listings on the second
-
Interesting. When I do a search in Google (using IE), I am not seeing any captitalization in the URL. I attached a screen shot so you could see what I saw.

What do You Think the Biggest Search Trends will Be in 2020?
Just interested to hear everyone's thoughts. Personally I think that, even though voice search is already pretty big - it's about to get much, much larger and this may even entirely change the infrastructure of the web. What are your thoughts for changes in search 2020?

Site appearing and disappearing from google serps.
Hi, My website is normally on page 2-3 on google consistently. Over the past month it has been appearing and then completely disappearing from the serps. One day it will be on page 2, then the next day completely missing from the serps. When i check the index it seems to be indexed correctly when doing site:mysite.com. I don't understand why this keeps happening, any experience with this issue? It doesn't seem to be a google dance as far as I can tell. When my other sites dance they typically just go up or down a few ranks for a couple weeks until they stabilize. Not completely fall off the search engine.

Remove spam url errors from search console
My site was hacked some time ago. I've since then redesigned it and obviously removed all the injection spam. Now I see in search console that I'm getting hundreds of url errors (from the spam links that no longer work). How do I remove them from the search console. The only option I see is "mark as fixed", but obviously they are not "fixed", rather removed. I've already uploaded a new sitemap and fetched the site, as well as submitted a reconsideration request that has been approved.

Please help explain this (Question about search results)
What's up SEO's, I'm new the SEO world and had a quick question. I just installed the MOZBAR and did a google search: "What is Google Voice" I attached an image of the results I received. Can someone explain how MacWorld's article outranked Google's when both Google's Page Authority and Domain Authority are so much stronger than MacWorlds. This is in addition to google having many more links. This is basic, but any insight will be very helpful. Thanks guys! Any results appearing state side from the roll out of in-depth articles?
I've noticed today that Google are not serving my author profile up in the SERPs, last night it was fine but today they've all gone. Could this be due to the release of in-depth articles? Has anyone else who is using rel author/publisher seen their profiles disappear. My pages are still in the same rank position but the information has been reverted to a previous state. I'm in the UK and unsure what determines a Google roll-out in terms of time scale, so I wanted to see if in-depth articles are starting to make their mark in the SERPs in the USA or Canada. Thanks for any input on this question. UPDATE BELOW ** I've decided to update this question with my own possible answer just in case it is helpful to any one. I see today that my Author/Publisher profile have now come back to my pages in SERPs, which I'm happy to see. I am an avid user of creating annotations in GA for each activity/change I make on my sites. The other day I wanted to test the impact on changing my profile pic to my company's logo identity - so I recorded this in GA as a date point of reference. My pic was changed to the logo and voila it started to appear in search. Why did I do this? Well our logo is a kind of high viz green box and pretty well stands out amongst the 10 blue lines and sponsored ads. I wanted to see if this would attract people's attention - should we not experiment??. For a time it worked but as you will see from my question my profile was essentially removed. Does Google watch out for this? It does not, for instance, serve our logo/profile for web pages where the author and the publisher are the same, meaning the company is the author and the publisher. I can see that Google are requesting that for in-depth articles they would like you to use the schema mark-up for organizational logos for your articles - http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/using-schemaorg-markup-for-organization.html. You will see in this posting quite a lot of discussion on logo size, code location, optimal settings etc. There seems to be a hint that the logo size should be around 50k and 230x230px. So maybe this is the route we need to take in order for your brand's identity to be served with your content. I'll be trying this out on some of my content and wait and see. If anyone else is working on thism trying out new ways to serve their content using schema mark-up it would be great to hear from you. Best David David

Implications of removing all google products from site
Is there any data on the implications of removing everything google from a site; analytics, adsense, webmaster tools, sitemaps, etc. Obviously they still have their search data and they say they dont use these other sources of data for ranking information but has anyone actually tried this or is there any existing data on this?
