Duplicate page content showing up with proper use of canonical tag

Hi,
In the Crawl diagnostics reports, I'm getting lots of duplicate errors warnings e.g. duplicate page title. In most cases these are tracking urls and the page has a canonical tag pointing to the original page.
It would be helpful if the crawl analysis reports could separate these out from ones that are of genuine concern.
It can also happen when there's a noindex tag on a page.

The SEOmoz PRO platform is designed to detect canonicals, and disregard these kind of errors when proper canoncials are in place.
That said, there have been bugs before which has presented this from working correctly, but most of those have been fixed. If you are still seeing problems, I encourage you to contact the help team (help@seomoz.org) to make sure everything is working okay in your campaign, and to verify this is actually a bug and not something wrong with your canonical tags.

I'm not sure I want to list the domain here, but here's a example of what I mean. We create google tracking links (google url builder) for use in a newsletter. The homepage looks like this:
and one the links in the newsletter might look like this:
http://www.site.com/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=offer&utm_campaign=1
When you look at the source code for both urls, they both have the canonical tag equal to:
So, Google knows there's no duplicate content issue there. It would be good if the diagnostics tool could recognise that too.

How do I fix duplicate title issues?
I have a sub domain that isn't even on our own site but it's resulting in a lot of errors in Moz for duplicate content, as shown here: http://cl.ly/1R081v0K0e2N. Would this affect our ranking or is it simply just errors within Moz? What measures could I take to make sure that Moz or Google doesn't associate our site with these errors? Would I have to noindex in the htaccess file for the sub domain?

What's more valuable: new content or optimizing old content
We are a niche legacy print publication that's been around for close to 20 years. Recently, we combined several old sites in one new responsive site. We have over 7,000 articles -many of which are evergreen and can be repurposed when needed. Most of the old pieces although published, have not been optimized for SEO. However, as we create new pieces, we optimize them for search and social and they tend to get more organic traffic. Where we're torn is on how much we should balance our limited editorial resources between cleaning up and optimizing our extensive archive to improve our organic reach, vs. pumping out new original pieces each week. I realize that without a lot of data the answers will be varied - I guess I'm looking for a best practices approach for content publishers. If it helps at all, our main conversion goal is selling subscriptions to our print and digital publications. We know that organic traffic tends to be more engaged than our social referrals. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the magazine fulfilment business, it's tough to know which channels convert better. Thanks!

Excel tips or tricks for duplicate content madness?
Dearest SEO Friends, I'm working on a site that has over 2,400 instances of duplicate content (yikes!). I'm hoping somebody could offer some excel tips or tricks to managing my SEOMoz crawl diagnostics summary data file in a meaningful way, because right now this spreadsheet is not really helpful. Here's a hypothetical situation to describe why: Say we had three columns of duplicate content. The data is displayed thusly: | Column A | Column B | Column C URL A | URL B | URL C | In a perfect world, this is easy to understand. I want URL A to be the canonical. But unfortunately, the way my spreadsheet is populated, this ends up happening: | Column A | Column B | Column C URL A | URL B | URL C URL B | URL A | URL C URL C | URL A | URL B | Essentially all of these URLs would end up being called a canonical, thus rendering the effect of the tag ineffective. On a site with small errors, this has never been a problem, because I can just spot check my steps. But the site I'm working on has thousands of instances, making it really hard to identify or even scale these patterns accurately. This is particularly problematic as some of these URLs are identified as duplicates 50+ times! So my spreadsheet has well over 100K cells!!! Madness!!! Obviously, I can't go through manually. It would take me years to ensure the accuracy, and I'm assuming that's not really a scalable goal. Here's what I would love, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Does anyone know of a formulaic way that Excel could identify row matches and think - "oh! these are all the same rows of data, just mismatched. I'll kill off duplicate rows, so only one truly unique row of data exists for this particular set" ? Or some other work around that could help me with my duplicate content madness? Wordpress tag problem
Hei, Just start using seomoz pro and it's freaking awesome:) I have one question about Crawl Diagnostics and hope you guys can help me out. I just launch my website and i get two errors what greep me out a bit. I don't know how to handle them correctly. I have two duplicate content errors what are caused by Wordpress tag's.
