Help fixing errors on W3C
-
I’ve got some errors while checking my website on W3C, one of those is:
Line 8, Column 46: Duplicate attribute class.
<code class="input">…lass="schanger" rel="stylesheet" class**=**"changer" href="http://www.simon-hot-do… Please anybody could tell me how to fix it, thanks Lunita</code>
-
Do you know HTML? If not, the W3C stuff isn't going to be any use to you and you need to hire someone.
-
You have these two lines:
| class="schanger" rel="stylesheet" class="changer" href="http://www.simon-hot-dogs.com/wp-content/themes/feast/styles/orange.css" type="text/css" /> |
|| <link class="bchanger" rel="stylesheet"class="changer" href="<a class=" " href="http://www.simon-hot-dogs.com/wp-content/themes/feast/styles/brown.css" target="_blank">http://www.simon-hot-dogs.com/wp-content/themes/feast/styles/brown.css"type="text/css" /></link class="bchanger" rel="stylesheet"class="changer" href="<a> |
|
|You need to edit the files to remove the class="changer" from both. schanger and bchanger seem to be your specific "changer" classes - you can't then say "it's also class=changer" It just doesn't work.
Just sort out those link class codes and you'll be fine.
-
Thanks Steve, but how I can fix it, I'm new and I feel lost.
-
The class property is duplicated.
You can only have one class in an href tag.

Would a link from an unrelated website, that is popular, help me ?
I have a website that gets 200,000 visitors a month. It is a very popular financial tool. I have another website that sells widgets, but honestly, not really related to the financial tool. I would like to help out the unpopular website by giving it a link. What's the professional opinion?

How do the powerful links of an old domain help my new domain?
I recently purchased a domain with over twenty years age, a few .gov links and A LOT of .edu links. Of course, the domain is relevant to my site's content. I'm hosting the domain on my shared server and have setup 301 redirects for each page that had external links pointing to it via the htaccess file within the domain's root directory. These 301 redirects, of course, point to my new domain, which is on a dedicated server. Specifically, they point to a directory on my new domain. I've also verified the purchased domain and my new domain on Google Search Console/Webmaster Tools. Finally, I've completed a google site change request for the old site to point to my new site. My questions: Should I also list my old domain on the dedicated server over the shared server or does it matter? Will the backlinks of the old site show up in my new site's links via Google's search console, Open Site Explorer, etc.? Will the backlinks of the old site improve the authority of my domain? Also, keep in mind that I have the 301 redirects pointing to a directory on my new site, not the root page of the new domain. Will the backlinks of the old site help my new domain's authority? In the eyes of Moz I've read, NO. I understand it's just a MOZ metric but from what I understand it also correlates with Google's actual 'authority' metric/method of giving value to a particular domain over another based on the backlinks. How exactly do the backlinks of the old domain benefit my new domain and is there a way to measure this/see the relationship? Thank you for any help you're willing to give!

Domain Authority and Fixing the site
Ok, so let's say I have a page on my site that says "Find a Personal Injury Lawyer Boston" Obviously that is very competitive and it is hard to get links for. However somewhere else on my site I have an article that says "10 mistakes to avoid when making a will." In theory, if I can get links to the "Making a Will Page", that increases the domain authority of my entire site, and boosts the likelihood of ranking for "Find a personal injury lawyer Boston." Is this correct? Let me know and thanks for your help!

Any successes getting SEO/link vendors clean up Penguin-related problems they helped create?
Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone's been able to get link vendors help clean up Penguin-related problems that they helped create? I have a client who was sold years and years of AWFUL link building work from a major and prominent SEO vendor, that we are now battling to de-toxify. There are no legal grounds for us as the ToS was watertight and the client is ultimately responsible (if naive), but has anyone been successful in getting vendors to cooperate with cleanups on ethical grounds? What's the best way to play that with a major vendor, I'm assuming they wouldn't want to be outed. Cheers all, Matt

How can I find and fix my broken links
There are a number(110) links that SEOmoz has found to have 404 errors. I have been able to find and fix many of them but there are links that are coming from our home page that do not seem to exist. I cannot even find the links in our system in wordpress. Is there something obvious that I am missing? Is there a way to locate where the links are originating from?

Please help me find unnatural links
My URL is: http://bit.ly/hBJAG4 Just been hit with an unnatural imbound links penalty and don't know what to do. I haven't done any link building work for the last 3 years other then creating an infographic at Christmas that was incredibly popular: http://bit.ly/14lao4G I have 0 paid links and I have never spammed a blog or forum. The only thing I can think of is back in 2006/2007 I was directory crazy - I got listed in all of the (what I thought at the time) were good quality paid directories - could this have come back to haunt me? Why do you think I have just been penalized now when these directory links have been there for years? Should I start getting rid of the directory links? - they did cost me a lot of cash. Can any of you spot any other links that could be seen as unnatural? Thanks to anyone who can help in advance

No Follow Blogs. Do they help with keyword density?
I know no follow blogs don't pass page rank or link juice, but do they aid in help with making your site know for a specific keyword when you use anchor text?
