Is there an easy way to create this type of post, wordpress?
-
I run a site that is in Google news and built on wordpress.
I have seen this type of post on a few sites
http://searchengineland.com/searchcap-the-day-in-search-december-21-2012-143315
Its basically a summary of posts for that day or week etc
I am wondering, does anyone know of an easy way to create these types of pages? At the moment we simply copy and paste and create all links manually.
Im wondering, is there a plugin that allows you to create a post like this but quicker?
Any ideas at all would be great
Thanks in advance

There are some plugins which do create these kind of posts automatically based on keywords. But for what I know and feel it's much better nowadays to spend 20 minutes and do it manually, plus adding comments and tips, in short, provide curation to the post.
For automated plugins in Wordpress you can simply enter "automated google news plugin" or else I would say. Look also for "goolge news" within the plugin search inside WorpdressYou can also create content from a RSS feed in a widget or in the footer of your Wordpress theme and so get updated news around that topic. Just copy any available RSS feed link about a subject (found on relevant websites and pages), use a RSS feed plugin if the WP theme you use does not have it, and paste that link.

will check it out and let you know
Thanks for your help

Here is something that I found useful
Go check the screenshot when you enter the link. It seems really helpful for that kind of situations.

Please keep me posted if that did not solve your problem and I will try to find something else.

Wordpress pages posts
Say you have a WordPress website with reviews and lists. Would you use "post" or "page" type for them? Is there any SEO advantage in using pages/subpages instead of posts?

Should I disable the indexing of tags in Wordpress?
Hi, I have a client that is publishing 7 or 8 news articles and posts each month. I am optimising selected posts and I have found that they have been adding a lot of tags (almost like using hashtags) . There are currently 29 posts but already 55 tags, each of which has its own archive page, and all of which are added to the site map to be indexed (https://sykeshome.europe.sykes.com/sitemap_index.xml). I came across an article (https://crunchify.com/better-dont-use-wordpress-tags/) that suggested that tags add no value to SEO ranking, and as a consequence Wordpress tags should not be indexed or included in the sitemap. I haven't been able to find much more reliable information on this topic, so my question is - should I get rid of the tags from this website and make the focus pages, posts and categories (redirecting existing tag pages back to the site home page)? It is a relatively new websites and I am conscious of the fact that category and tag archive pages already substantially outnumber actual content pages (posts and news) - I guess this isn't optimal. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks wMfojBf

Best way to handle page filters and sorts
Hello Mozzers, I have a question that has to do with the best way to handle filters and sorts with Googlebot. I have a page that returns a list of widgets. I have a "root" page about widgets and then filter and sort functionality that shows basically the same content but adds parameters to the URL. For example, if you filter the page of 10 widgets by color, the page returns 3 red widgets on the top, and 7 non-red widgets on the bottom. If you sort by size, the page shows the same 10 widgets sorted by size. We use traditional php url parameters to pass filters and sorts, so obviously google views this as a separate URL. Right now we really don't do anything special in Google, but I have noticed in the SERPs sometimes if I search for "Widgets" my "Widgets" and "Widgets - Blue" both rank close to each other, which tells me Google basically (rightly) thinks these are all just pages about Widgets. Ideally though I'd just want to rank for my "Widgets" root page. What is the best way to structure this setup for googlebot? I think it's maybe one or many of the following, but I'd love any advice: put rel canonical tag on all of the pages with parameters and point to "root" use the google parameter tool and have it not crawl any urls with my parameters put meta no robots on the parameter pages Thanks!

Is Amazon EC2 a viable solution for Wordpress websites?
I'm getting very interested in Amazon Web Services lately as an alternative to reseller hosting. Anyone have experience on their cloud with Wordpress sites? Would be nice to be able to spin up sites to faster service if needed, but not sure if its more pricey and not ready for that adoption yet.

How can scraper sites be successful post Panda?
I read this article on SEJ: http://www.searchenginejournal.com/scrapers-and-the-panda-update/34192/ And, I'm a bit confused as to how a scraper site can be successful post Panda? Didn't panda specifically target sites that have duplicate content & shouldn't scraper sites actually be suffering?
